4Nice Monitor, with a few drawbacks
By D. Pellegrini
I purchased this monitor to experience the full effect of Windows 8 - using it as a second monitor connected to my laptop (Sony Vaio Z).

One thing I did not see mentioned anywhere - in order for Touch to work, you need to connect the USB3 cable from the monitor to your computer - in addition to one of the included video cables. I am not sure if a USB3 connection is required or if this will work with an older USB2 jack [**UPDATE** others are saying that USB2 works just fine].

This is replacing an older Dell 24-inch. The color and clarity are very good and I am not any worse off with the move down to 23 inches - frankly it looks about the same as the 24 to me.

There are a few drawbacks:
1. Reflection:
The screen is HIGHLY reflective. When it is off, it can double as a (dark) mirror. I have a window behind my desk and have had to angle this monitor a strange way to reduce reflection. When on, the reflection is not as bad, but much, much worse than my old matt-finish Dell 24"

2. The stand:
The monitor does not turn or pivot. I often grab my monitor and turn it on my desk to share with people on the other side. To accommodate this use, I will be installing a mounting arm - at additional cost. On the plus side, the kickstand leg and the plastic bottom/front bezel can be removed (with screws), which will make this look very nice mounted on an arm.

3. Speaker:
This monitor has a speaker on the back, that overrides my laptop speaker, likely because it is plugged in through the USB port. As terrible as my laptop sound is, this monitor's speaker is worse. [**UPDATE** a simple setting in Windows will let you switch back to your computer's other audio outputs].

On the plus side:

1. This monitor is significantly less expensive than the new 23" Dell Touch Monitor (S2340T)
2. It is slightly easier to get
3. It has a very nice picture
4. The touch features work very well - supports Windows 8 requirements (older touch monitors do not)
5. Includes an integrated 3 port USB3 hub on the back of the monitor
6. and comes with all the cables you might reasonably need
7. You can remove the Kickstand and plastic bottom piece - and attach to any VESA 100x100 mount

********
[UPDATE 11/7/2012]

- Others have confirmed that the USB cable works just fine with older USB2 ports. - Added a comment inline above
- Thanks to a helpful comment, I was able to quickly find the setting in my Volume control to set the speaker back to my Laptop

[UPDATE 11/11/2012]

- I ordered an Ergotron mounting arm and was able to easily remove the kickstand and bottom plastic piece. The monitor even comes with a little plastic cover to put over the screw holes left exposed by the removed kickstand.

5beautiful touch monitor! great features!
By yen
I purchased this to go with my Windows 8 PC. It's really an amazing monitor and absolutely worthy of purchase. It is an IPS panel which is the reason why it's much more expensive than the typical TN panel that comprises most inexpensive LCD monitors. Because it is IPS, the viewing angles are fantastic. In addition, it has capacitive touch which makes Windows 8 really excellent to use. It can recognize up to 10 points of touch simultaneously, meaning that you can have 2 people using the screen at the same time, perhaps in a game.

The screen is extremely responsive. Soon you'll be pinching to zoom in and out. Twirling your fingers to rotate a picture. Swiping to close programs or change programs. It really is like having a tablet on a nice big screen.

I thought the display was truly beautiful. Colors are rich. Text is sharp. Watching movies was great.

It comes with all the cables need to connect the monitor to a PC: HDMI, VGA, and DVI cables. It also has a 1/8" stereo cable to hook up to your PC audio so that the computer audio comes out the monitor's speakers. It also has a USB cable that connects the monitor to the PC to enable touch. In order to have touch, you must connect the monitor to a USB port. Note that the USB cable from the monitor to PC has a unique end at the monitor side so be careful not to lose this cable as a normal USB cable doesn't appear like it will work.

In case you don't have enough USB ports available on your PC, the monitor itself has USB 3.0 compatible ports on its back so you can plug your USB devices to the monitor. I moved a web camera from the PC to the monitor.

The bottom of the monitor sits on top of a clear plastic so from a distance, it looks like the monitor is floating. The monitor is support by an arm on the back. This arm is extremely stiff so you're going to have to apply muscle to pull the arm outward so you can angle the display. You'll be apply pressure and pressure and then all of a sudden, the arm goes to the next notch. I was a little scared at first but you get used to it. I'm not sure how far out you can pivot the hinge. So I don't know how close to flat you can lay the monitor down for games like air hockey. If anyone knows, let me know in the comments. I don't want to run the risk of breaking the hinge.

There are no drivers needed to install for the monitor's touch to work. The monitor shows up as a plug n play monitor and doesn't say Acer. I don't know if Acer-specific drivers will come out in the future.

The touch works out of the box. Do no adjust the touch calibration in the control panel unless you absolutely need to. I went directly to the control panel to calibrate when I first purchased the monitor, and after calibration, I had trouble doing the Windows 8 swipes from the side of the monitor. Resetting the calibration back to default fixed the problem. So I do not recommend calibrating at all.

The speakers on the monitor are okay. They're what you get out of typical cheap computer speakers. Don't turn up the volume too high or you get distortion.

The only thing I didn't like about the package is the documentation. It is terrible. But I guess you don't need much documentation for a monitor. They should've at least said that the USB cable was required for touch to work. In the manual, it just says USB optional which while technically right (without the USB attached, you get a picture through the video cable but you don't get touch), it's misleading.

I wholly recommend this monitor. It's a very good size, and it performs as you expect. The design is good, and the features are good. I think glass, instead of plastic, along the bottom of the monitor would've looked classier but plastic is more durable.

4Great desktop upgrade for Windows 8
By Ben
After upgrading my desktop to Windows 8, I wanted to get in on all the fun new touch features even without buying a new tablet. I was choosing between the Dell S2340T and this monitor but ultimately chose the Acer due to availability and price. I am very satisfied with the look and performance of the monitor.

Pros:
- IPS screen, 1920x1080
- Comes with all the cables you could need (HDMI, DVI, VGA, USB3, power)
- Can stand upright, lay down, or be wall mounted (bracket not included)
- No need to install drivers, it just worked

Cons:
- Some of the new tablets cost around the same price
- Integrated speakers aren't that great

Notes:
1. The stand's hinge is very tight out of the box, but with careful force, it will move into position.
2. The screen is glossy, so glare could be a problem under some conditions.
3. Fingerprints don't show up too much at first, but keep a cleaning cloth handy nonetheless.
4. If you want to use HDMI, check if your video card has a full size or mini-HDMI connector.

5Great Monitor A++
By Mike
This is a great monitor.
The colors are extremely sharp and it's super bright on High Dynamic or Game Mode.
Make sure you toss out the VGA cable that's included (its Blue ) and buy a DVI cable with this monitor.
The difference is major! I bought BlueRigger DVI to DVI Digital Dual-Link Cable also on amazon. Best DVI cable on the market.

The only downside is it does not come with a DVI cable.

You wont regret it, just buy this monitor.

1I really wanted to like this monitor
By TwixTurtle
Got this on sale for ~$110, which was a steal compared to its normal price.

However, as soon as I turned this monitor on I decided to return it.
The quality of colors and whites is quite good, but the blacks are TERRIBLE. As another review stated, even turning the brightness down to 0% did not put the darks on par with my cheap little asus monitor.

Also, the viewing angle is abysmal. From directly in front of the monitor, the bottom appeared lighter than the top. It only took a couple degrees difference to significantly distort the colors. Many led monitors have viewing angle issues, but this is the worst I have encountered.

Upon screwing in the base, I found the monitor itself to be more wobbly than my previous ones, and not adjustable in the least. It is also not designed to accommodate any mounts, as the back is flush, and the base extends from the bottom of the monitor.

In short: Would not recommend.

5Very nice.
By Stephen E. Shoesmith
The first thing I noticed with this monitor is the external power transformer. Usually being the first component of a flat-screen to die, this is a nice addition now making it a user-replaceable part.

It also makes the monitor profile flatter and lighter. I did notice that the brightness controls for the monitor were turned up to maximum which are way too high for most applications. It also suffers from a very bad "line-of-sight" problem where the brightness of the image is directly proportional to the angle at which you look at it. Direct on viewing gives you a nice, full color picture. Whereas viewing from even 15 degrees off center makes the image "grey-out".

If you constantly look at your monitor from your chair then this shouldn't be a problem. If you have to view this monitor from the side or off angle then I would pass on this.

5Very happy with this DVD player!
By Josie Whales
I am very happy with this purchase. It's fairly light weight and easy to use. I did find, however, that in pushing the buttons to make it work is like clicking the buttons on a cheap kids toy. Have to use the remote control for volume control. Has good sound especially when using ear phones. So all in all, I am very happy with it.

5Holy Cow, Great customer service!
By P. Wood
Alright, full disclosure. I installed my screen protector incorrectly, actually I didn't remove the small plastic protector that Samsung places discretely over the front camera. I cleaned the screen thoroughly and inspected the screen but I never thought to look at the front camera. So i continued to install the LUVVITT screen protector and sure enough, there was a large air pocket under the top right screen. So shoot, now what? Well I took the screen protector off, so I could remove the small plastic piece and of course it would not re-apply.

I was frustrated and contacted LUVVITTs customer support to order a new screen protector and without hesitation 5 minutes after I sent my email to them they replied an email with a tracking number. At no cost, without any fault on their own they replaced the screen protector for free. Even if I incorrectly install the next one they send me I will give this company 5-stars and continue to purchase from this company.

5I am impressed
By Kevin H.
I installed this on my S5 with a LOVVITT ULTRA ARMOR case and it looks great! The glass leaves a slight reveal from the phones glass and does not interfere with this case and probably most others as well. I was worried about spending 10 dollars on a screen protector since my last efforts with plastic have been so-so. Putting this on was way easier than plastic ones. Just make sure after cleaning the glass on the phone you look carefully and remove any dust or fibers with a piece of tape. Try a dry run first with the protector on so you can see how much room there is around the sides and button on the phone. Start at the bottom and line up with button and sides and drop on. It adheres itself to the phone and looks cool when doing so. Not one bubble and just had to press down in a couple spots on the edge. The performance with the touch screen is perfect and visually cant tell its even there. It seems like it should last the life of the phone but only time will tell.

5Great first impression
By gnef
I just received this tonight, and have installed it in the kitchen. I was careful to clean thoroughly.

I used the masking tape hinge method, which helped to line things up - use two pieces of tape strapped from the backside, and attach to the screen protector. unstick and realign as necessary before removing the adhesive backing. Once ready, 'open' the hinge, do a quick wipe, then remove the adhesive backing, and allow the hinge to put the screen protector back to where you had aligned it to.

The glass is amazingly clear. I did have some concerns about the fingerprint scanner, but it is working as expected.

I do expect this to protect the gorilla glass 3 underneath it. The protector is somewhat flexible even though it is glass, and the film should also help to distribute any forces that press on the screen itself. At this price, I am willing to replace the protector if it is damaged in the least, though I hope to be careful enough with this phone not to worry about it!

For the price, you really can't beat it. I did a lot of shopping around and I'm glad I finally settled on this one. I have an Asus laptop that I've been thoroughly impressed with and now this monitor.

The one note I should make is some of the materials initially led me to believe this might have an HDMI port. Be warned that it does not...this would make the item extra awesome but alas it will have to remain just awesome.

3Ok but no HDMI
By JWink
Originally ordered this for my budget build at $99 bucks it is a great price for a 20 inch monitor. However take note that this monitor does not have HDMI so you will not get as good quality display as you would if you spend about 30 bucks more for HD monitor that has a HDMI connection. I personally recommend the Asus VE228H 21.5-Inch Full-HD LED Monitor with Integrated Speakers as for 30 bucks more you get full HD, HDMI connections, and speakers. I exchanged this monitor for that one and I am happy with the better quality screen.

2My Sixth Harmony remote model and the first one I returned.
By R. Garth
I have owned Harmony remotes since long before Logitech bought out the company.
I have lived with the knowledge that each remote would only last about 3 years before some form of button failure would develop, but it was worth it because no other remote on the market had the ergonomics and feature base and ease of setup of a Harmony remote.

My fifth and best remote was a 900 and it was a fantastic remote until the volume and channel buttons started to fail at the young age of only 2 1/2 years.

So I went out and bought a Harony Ultimate One at Best Buy and man oh man did I regret that! First of all has Harmony completely forgotten why remotes like the 1000 where failures and remotes like the 900 and the orginal Harmony One where great success stories? Yes Harmony it was the BUTTONS and the right mixture of LCD that made the remote a must have. With the Ultimate you have too much LCD and not enough hard buttons. With LCD buttons you have to constantly look down at the remote when trying to do anything! With Physical buttons you can feel your way around the remote. Anyone who uses a remote for 2-3 weeks will become very use to finding most of the needed buttons without ever looking down once at the remote. With Touch screen buttons you can use it for years and you will still need to look down to see if your finger is over the right spot.

Now while I am not happy towards the lessening of physical buttons and the leaning towards touch screen, I knew what I was getting into so I was willing to live with that until hopefully Harmony realized the mistake and made a more button packed remote like the 880, 900. But then acame the problems, it was like the remote had a built in Gremlin that just messed with it every so often. I dealt with lockups galore, problems with the LCD light staying on and killing the batteries and then prgogramming issues that I never had with any harmony remote before. In the end I packed up this puppy and sent her back.

The real shame of all of this is that Harmony put the words "Ultimate" on this remote when in fact they have had so many better models over the years. Lesson for Harmony is go back to basics and give the customers what they want, not what is cheapest to build. This remote finaly crossed the line and got into the realm of low quality with too much glitz and sparkle and not enough of what once made Harmony remotes great.

4Good Solid Unit! (but I still love my original Harmony One!)
By Marty Gillis
I have used nothing but Harmony brand remotes for the past 8 years. I currently own and use a pair of Harmony One's as my 'go to ' remotes. They are VERY durable if properly cared for with one of my two 'One's” lasting more than 6 years old now and subjected to DAILY heavy use! Needless to say I am a Harmony fan and was eager to try this new Harmony Ultimate One out and see how it stacks up against my beloved original Harmony One.

Before reading more you may wish to read this disclaimer:

“These remotes are NOT for the technically challenged OR the chronically impatient! The website/software that allows you to custom program your Harmony Ultimate remote features unlimited combinations that you can use for both your devices and your “Activities” (macros), but also features one of the WORST software interfaces currently in use. It took me a good few months to find my way around the software enough to get fast with it. At this point it is all 2nd nature to me but honestly if you are not willing to spend the time and trouble on Harmony programming, you most likely should look elsewhere. On the other hand if you are willing to learn and spend a bit of trial and error time, you will be greatly rewarded with a remote that controls all your devices exactly the way YOU want it to.”

Ok, end of disclaimer....... Now back to my review.........

This particular Harmony is the IR model and will not shoot commands through solid objects, etc. This is for 'Line of Sight” control.
*** You can upgrade this remote by buying the Smart Control unit which will add RF capability to this , and more.

The until itself is very well made. It is smaller and lighter than my original Harmony One. Like the original 'One', it is rechargeable and includes a recharging base. You can control All your devices (up to 15) and create custom “Activities” to turn any number of devices on/off and change them to the appropriate inputs in one button push. All the functions work as advertised, although the gesture control will take a bit of getting used to. I am sure it will be a very fast way to do certain things, once I get the knack. Smart Phone users should have no trouble at all using the touch screen and the associated gesture controls.

Honestly, for what it is, the new Harmony Ultimate One remote works exceedingly well. I have a complex system consisting of up to 9 devices and have encountered ZERO programming/operational glitches. What I mean to say is that IT WORKS!

I honestly only have one major complaint/problem with this remote.....

While I like this new Harmony Ultimate One, in my opinion it is far from BEING ultimate. I still consider the original Harmony One (discontinued model) to be the best product they have ever turned out. Here is the main reason:

Basically the Harmony line of remotes underwent a drastic layout change just a few years back. The greatly loved classic configuration of the button/touchscreen layout was scrapped and replaced with new models that moved the touchscreen to the center of the remote and the most used transport buttons to the top. This just a plain bad idea when it comes to ease of use. It is just too easy to activate the touch screen on the way up to your transport controls and when you DO wish to use the touchscreen, functions that USED to be controlled by dedicated buttons are now requiring a glance or two to operate. I am spoiled and used to using my Harmony One by touch alone, but that doesn't cut it with touchscreens.. Also, having to reach to the very top for transport functions is uncomfortable at best and at times requites two hands instead of one. (at least for me it does)

<<<>>>> Oh well, I am sure Logitech has heard this from MANY people already, but my feeling is IF they could give back the classic button layout while still shrinking the product, they would have a real winner.

IF you have never used an original Harmony One or are NEW to Harmony remotes, then this new Harmony One Ultimate should both please you and serve all your remote needs with ease. BUT if you are like me and are still clinging to the older version, you are bound to miss the classic button layout with the touch screen at the top. It really IS the best layout and for many, many reasons. Be that as it may, THIS is the new top of the line for Harmony remotes and while I don't find the layout easier to use, it IS well made and all the functions remain, just implemented differently and found in different places on the physical remote itself.

AS you have probably surmised, I am a real Harmony Fan. The day I put away all my remotes for good was one to remember. I even use my Harmony to turn on/off and adjust my AC and room lighting. The Logitech database is vast and you will most likely find ALL your devices on it.

If you want to control ALL your devices with one remote and be able to make totally customizable control layouts and multi-device macros, then this Harmony One Ultimate will bend to your will. You just need a bit of patience and determination, plus a touch of imagination to turn this remote into YOUR Ultimate remote.

Again, I don't care for the new design, but this device is top of the line with great construction, good looks, and the ability to perform each and every function on every electronic device you currently use for stereo/home theater.

As such, it IS recommended by ME, Marty G !

3Great idea; poor engineering
By Steve B
Like most people I hate having seven remotes to control my system so combining them into one unit is a great idea. I appreciate the opportunity to review the Ultimate One and compare it to my two-year-old One with the failing buttons. Although the Ultimate One is pretty smart and quite functional in many ways, Logitech misses the mark for me on several important points.

Software: Try finding Roku for the Harmony. There are several classifications to look under but none of them make sense for Roku. It's listed under "DVD." Go figure. Try Apple TV. Good luck with that one. Brand new hardware (Ultimate One) with the same old crappy software. If they spent a couple of days with a new software team leader in charge, maybe they'd come up with a better system, but this one has irritated me since I bought the old One more than two years ago.

Hardware: Improved the shape and size over the old One so that now it stands up in the charging stand, taking up much less room on the table where it sits. Also added a textured back to make it easier to grip. They got rid of the superfluous buttons that cluttered up the old One, but also removed some pretty useful ones. These buttons are now accessed through layers of a touch screen. Sometimes this works out well, and sometimes not. Really depends on your equipment and the type of controlling you need to do. For me, I still keep the original remotes close enough that I can use them to do the more intricate things I don't want to bother setting up and troubleshooting on the Harmony. Yes, troubleshoot. Not everything works right the first time.

Some inconveniences: Ever hand your remote to someone so they can control things? Well, be careful with the Ultimate. About 1/4 times one of us will accidentally activate something on the touchscreen during transfer from one hand to the other, and we're being careful. Also, for some reason they put the playback buttons (play, FF, REW, etc) above the touchscreen. Try using those without activating something on the touchscreen!

Set up: Since I already had a Harmony One that was fine-tuned to my system (which took months to finesse!!!), set up was just a matter of transferring the information from the One to the Ultimate. Easy-cheesy. I don't look forward to learning how to set up the Ultimate for a new piece of equipment after seeing that the software is still the same: lame. For now, the Ultimate controls most things fine with no fuss on my part.

If you want to get rid of all of your remotes the Ultimate One could be your solution. For me it wasn't. If you want the convenience of controlling most of the common functions of a lot of equipment and don't mind the limitations, then this expensive remote could be a great addition to your collection. We now have nine remotes instead of the seven that came with the equipment. The old One is still on the charger for my wife's use (she doesn't care for the lack of buttons on the Ultimate). The Ultimate is for me, most of the time. The individual equipment remotes are stashed close-by in case I need to access something I can't find on the Ultimate.

If Logitech would update their software to the 21st century (they still have Laserdisc but don't have a proper category for ROKU) and put the touch screen at the top with all of the buttons grouped together, I'd love the Ultimate One. If they don't make changes to the software I won't buy a new One when this One wears out.

By Thomas
I love it, very easy to put on. I usually go thru 2 before I can perfectly attach it w/o bubbles and what not. I got it on the very first try :) You can't even notice it at all.

5Great Vibrant Colors
By Clarity
I've been wanting a new LED screen for a while and I stumbled upon this one. It has great vibrant color and a lot of customization features to boot. The Magic Upscale and Magic Angle are pretty cool, but they don't really make much of a difference to me as I'm using it mostly for gaming. I think the way to navigate the menus is rather intuitive but the nob (4-Direction, push to bring up menu) on the bottom underneath the Samsung Logo seemed to be an awkward place to put the controls. I wish it had a height adjustment so I could match it with the height of my ASUS monitor, but not really something I think it's worth docking any stars for. The screen does tilt upward though about 25~30 degrees from vertical position but does not tilt downwards. If the monitor happens to fail, pixels go dead or anything else, will update. Overall, happy with the screen and would recommend.

4Two thumbs up 4.5 stars.
By melissa
I would have given this monitor a 5; however its not adjustable for height. I am big Samsung fan and have enjoyed this as my monitor in my office.

5Good choice
By LMF
I looked online and decided to also check in a store before deciding on a new monitor. This one stood out as being much prettier in person with nice crisp colors and clear edges to the graphics compared to the Asus model that was next to it. I am happy I got this one instead I think it is worth the extra $20 I paid for better quality.

4Simple snap on case, good price, rubber coating so less slipping
By BoaltGeek
The case is just what you might expect in terms of fit and finish (both are good to excellent). It's thin so protection from drops is limited (still better than nothing or even a Zagg type plastic adhesive) but protection from scratches is excellent.

From Facebook and the comments here (Rearth responded to my questions quickly), you should know that the SF is different from the LF:
SF = Soft feeling = rubberized coating, same as the well reviewed and similarly described SF Matte Black Samsung Galaxy S3 Rearth Ringke Soft Feeling Case
vs.
LF = Light feeling = plastic with texture for grip but no rubberized coating (also sold on Amazon here).

I've hard other rubber coated cases (like this SF model), which I prefer for grip and the matte look (which I think matches the iPhone 5 case rear section, which is non-glossy, though not necessarily "matte," aluminum). However, I understand some people prefer the easier to remove from your pocket non-rubber coated models like the LF (I do hate when my pocket get turned out as a rubber edge catches the fabric of the pocket, though you learn to accommodate that quickly). Also, the rubber coating on some cases I've owned has rubbed off at the corners, hopefully this case rubber coating will be a bit more durable, but for 10 bucks it's hard to go wrong.

There is a very slight "lip" so you can put the phone down with the screen side on a table but the lip keeps the glass *just* off the surface. With a adhesive screen protector it might be exactly on the same level as the lip; it's very thin which I prefer. The InCase snap on case for the iPhone 4 has too high a lip for me, but this lip is just right for limited protection while maintaining the form of the phone.

This plus a decent adhesive cover over the glass front is exactly the size and degree of protection I want. It keeps he phone about the same size (it's surprisingly small/thin/light) while giving decent protection to the corners and back side of the phone. My co-worker didn't even think there was a case on it because it was still thinner than his "naked" iPhone 4S. While I hope competition drives the prices down, the quality of the case is excellent even at the current price. If I had to choose a replacement, I'd buy the same case again without regret.

[Update upon receipt:]
The SF soft feeling matte black is excellent: not very grippy at all but enough to keep it from sliding around on my car's dashboard or on my desk. I was able to scrape off the white text on the back without removing the rubber coating so I suspect it will be quite resistant to rubbing off at the corners of the case. The fit is excellent but not perfect (I suspect it will get pretty dang close to perfect after warming up a few times in my pocket, the plastic is hard but somewhat malleable with heat I expect). The feeling is a bit less grip than a similar snap on InCase case; honestly in my subjective opinion it's just right. Enough to stay in place even when the surfaces are not flat but not so much that it pulls the pocket out of my pants when I take the phone out. Less grip than the rubber surrounds on the Apple Bumper protectors, but with more protection over the back of the case.

** The case comes with a slicker on the portion facing the back side of the phone; I was not certain that this should be removed but I found the fit to be better without the sticker and I don't think it provides any additional protection. I'd try your case with the sticker first and if you need a little more room to get the edges to "snap" into place, remove the sticker. If your case is too loose, the sticker may improve the fit. However, my case was just right without the sticker and I suspect others will be manufactured to the same specs so forego the sticker.

1I have 2 break in 8 months and they both broke in the same place
By Mr M J Gosnell
I initially bought this as it has the best reviews for an iPhone 5 case that wasn't bulky. I bought my first one at Christmas when I got a new phone when it was time to renew our family plan. That broke on the top right hand corner as you look at front of the phone, not by dropping it I might add. I thought I'd stick with the same product as I like the look and feel, however 4 months on the case has just broken again in exactly the same place. I will now look for an alternative iPhone 5 case.

1Great design but poor quality.
By Joe D.
I purchased this case because of the countless four and five star reviews for it. I love this style case as I can't stand to have a lot of bulk on my phone. I like a nice sleek case and this one would be perfect (or at least I thought). I received my case and immediately put it on my iPhone 5. The case was very loose around the edges, so much so that when I grabbed my phone from the sides it would make a popping sound because the case wasn't flush with the phone. I removed the case, squeezed it a bit to see if I could fix it myself and had no luck.

I contacted customer support who was great. They responded immediately and advised me to do what I had already done. I removed the case again and tried squeezing it. No luck. They quickly replied and apologized and sent out a replacement without asking me to send the other one back. I received the replacement a few days later and have the exact same issue. I suppose many who left the reviews didn't mind that this case wasn't as tight as it should be or didn't notice. I noticed and I wasn't impressed.

Sorry Rearth but something needs to be done about this.

5Awesome
By Amazon Customer
Bought two sets of these before a big family road trip, dont think we would have made it without them. Kids all loved them and the video play is awesome. Id suggest buying headphones to go with them and maybe some sort of extension for the power cords because they are a tad short.

3Good but not great...
By Asha Conley
Bought this for use in our minivan to keep the kids entertained. Pros: The screen resolution is good, clear picture, volume is loud enough. I like that when you turn the car off, the DVD picks up from where it left off when you come back. Cons: straps that hold the screen to the headrest are not very secure (I have a Honda Odyssey minivan), the buttons are hard to reach when the player is on the headrest such that you have to fiddle with the player just to reach the buttons or unstap it. The remote has no volume button, it does not have a rechargeable battery. The deal breaker for us was how the two screens have to be connected by a cable which hangs awkwardly between the two players such that the kids have to go under them or around them to get in and out of the van. In fact between the connection cables and the cable going into the car adaptor, that was too many cables! I sent then back.

5Worth the money
By Mary Ann
Clear picture. Nice size screen. Easy to load disc. Sound quality and volume good. Easy to mount onto headrest and take down. I really have nothing negative to say. Used them for vacation, helped immensely for travel with the kids.

5This is the one to order-love it!
By CDH
This was perfect. Affordable, included the home button and camera bracket. Exceptional quality. Order this!
A few pointers. The best video in my opinion was: [...] The only tool I ordered was this: B00792JJK4 It would have been nice to have the Apple Spudger (B00792JJK4 but was too cheap to order one. I used a cheap cap of a common ball point pen (one with a soft pocket clip) as my spudger, primarily for flipping up and closing the cable latches. I used a stack of credit cards as spacers underneath the glass from reattaching to the frame instead of guitar picks as shown in the video. I ordered the wifi antenna and cable for the on-off button but didn't need them. If you follow the directions and use reasonable care you likely won't need them. I did order and used the $6 digitizer plastic frame (B005Z1ZWEI super easy to put in. Was actually very easy, fun, and the ipad works perfectly.

A recommendation. If you are a father, be careful as this may slip you up in proper fatherly control and sensitive behavior. I was in the middle of the project when my 8 year old daughter came home from school. She loves her IPad 2 and wanted to see what I was doing. I was just at the point of reflecting the screen off the LCD. I was so preoccupied with unsticking and reflecting it, I didn't notice her putting her tiny fingers and touching the LCD panel. Well, after watching hours of youtube videos cautioning about touching the LCD surface, wearing gloves, etc. I was a little unempathetic in warning her to not touch the panel. Her heart was broken and off to the bedroom and underneath the bed. She hadn't done that in awhile. Took some time to coax her back to normal. Giving her the opportunity to turn it on for the first time and doing the testing of the digitizer, volume, home button and camera returned her being my princess. Don't let this happen to you! I think the most difficult part of the repair was putting the screws back into the lcd frame. I dropped one on the floor and took awhile to find it. It pays to be careful on the simplest steps. Also, took awhile to peel the inner screen protector off the digitizer before sealing it up. There was no tab, so I sicked my makeshift ball point pen cap and finally found an edge to peel up.

Great product.

If your child touches the lcd panel, those fluffy, soft yellow microfiber towels available at Costco with just a whiff of alcohol makes short time of them with just a little buffing.

I read all the reviews for this one and others.
The screen arrived quickly and undamaged. It does have the tape attached, but it is easy to miss as it is very thin and covered with clear tape.

Quality seems to be very good and it worked perfectly

Installation is a pain in the A$$, but thats an iPad issue.
If you are going to do this repair (its not terribly difficult) you definitely should purchase a outer frame and most definitely get a wifi antenna as you will very likely damage the one in the iPad when disassembling it

5Looks, feels, works great
By Apple user
This screen is the same type of high def screen that the iPhone 4 comes with. You cant see pixels. It's the same.
If you compare it to an iPhone screen you can see that the whites are slightly different but you can't tell if you just look at the phone by itself.
The glass seems the same to me. I see reviews that say their is a different feel to the glass. I held both in my hands and I can't see much of a difference. I can't feel much of a difference. I was worried their would be. Don't worry about it.
This is a great price and a perfect replacement. Buy it. It looks and feels perfect. I'm very happy with it.
The replacement is easy if you use the youtube video and use a magnetic tray that you draw on. There are 7 or 8 different types of screws. Make it easy on yourself to know where they go. I drew a large version of the phone and placed the screws where I found them in the phone. Made it easy.

I did about 3 hours of research on iPhone 4 replacement screens. What I learned.
- Don't buy a touch screen only. It wont work. You need the screen and lcd display.
- Nobody has a OEM screen. Their are close copies but if you want an Apple screen you need to return you screen to Apple. This screen is the same as you will get from the video making websites that sell them for $100
- Some screens out there have plastic screens. They scratch. Don't buy them.
- When they changed the screw in the bottom of the iphone they didn't send the correct screw driver for a while. They send the correct screw driver now.
- Many people don't know that you need to use the phone speaker screen that your phone comes with. This screen doesn't come with one because you already have one.

1POOR QUALITY
By joan p
I own a small electronics repair business, and focus largely on smartphone repair. I order thousands of dollars a month in parts for phones and laptops, so I see a lot product through my office.
These are easily the worst screens I've seen. I order 6 of them at the same time and I had issues each one. It's natural that aftermarket screens won't fit as well as the original Apple screen, that is expected, but these are usable for me. First, they are too thick, forcing me to use a filler under the home button to bring it to screen level, second, the margins around the screen are off, covering the entire aluminium casing. Third, the plastic bezel surrounding the glass digitizer isn't properly adhered to the glass causing it to come loose and prevent the digitizer from seating to the case well.
In addition to the build of these parts, several of the screens didn't work at all. One had a bad LCD and another had a cut ribbon cable. There are several other options for this screen from other sellers that are much better quality and about the same price. I for one, will never buy a product from this seller again if I can avoid it.

3Read this review before you buy!
By Seth F.
This item arrived quickly and went together ok but there were three serious issues I experienced:

1.) Unit had no instructions--which is fine because I followed a Youtube video; however, it would have been helpful if a note/link to the exact Youtube video was included as described below.

2.) Unit DOESN'T come with a wire mesh piece that attaches underneath the front glass plate (where you put your ear). Consequently I now have a hole in the face of my iPhone through which i can see the inside circuitboard, etc. At this point, I shouldn't use my iphone at the gym or in the rain because water can enter the phone. I started to repair this by taking it apart to use the grill from my old cracked glass, but I stripped the screws holding the glass to the steel outer casing with the provided screwdriver and could not get it apart again.

3.) Company provided all the necessary tools; however, the task would have been an order of magnitude easier with a MAGNETIC phillips head screwdriver since the screws holding the innards of the iphone 4 together are tiny, to say the least.

I WOULD buy this again, but I would make sure to find a Youtube video showing assembly/dissasembly specifically for "buyiparts" and I would purchase my own micro sized MAGNETIC "watch repair" screwdriver.
