5Good battery
By jagsfangrandma
My galaxy 3s was having difficulty holding a charge and I was charging 2-3 times a day as within hours (without even using the phone) the battery was down from 100% to critical level. So bought this and works like a charm - just like when the phone was new.

1Not all of these are genuine
By Yu-jin Chia
First, there are a lot of fake/reject Samsung standard batteries out there. A lot of these can be weeded out by looking at price: if it's under $10 it's probably not genuine/new. I've gotten generic non-NFC spare batteries for that much, but that's a different story. I wanted some extra batteries with NFC support and decided to try my luck here.

I bought one of these from PacificCellularDistributor. It was from this same listing and only $2 cheaper than the current price, which is discounted from MSRP but is still reasonably (i.e. believably) close.

When I got the battery I noticed it didn't fit perfectly in my S3. On closer inspection I noticed the top edge cover of the plastic housing seemed to be jutting out a bit, and lifting it with a fingernail caused it to peel away. That struck me as a bit unusual, but I figured it might have just been knocked loose in shipping and it didn't seem to be that serious. I seated the battery and used it for a whole day.

It did seem to charge to 100% and had good run time- as good as the stock battery. I was thinking this was the genuine article, but then I decided to test NFC. My wife has a Galaxy Victory that has NFC/S-beam support, and I know it works with the original battery. I checked to make sure the feature was enabled, tried it... nothing happened. I swapped it out with the original and it worked. Changed it back, still didn't work.

This is when I realized that this battery is either refurbished or fake. The sticker on it does look genuine, and it does say Near Field Communication on it, but NFC is either broken or was not present to begin with. It's possible this was an OEM battery that was damaged/defective and refurbished, but if so it's not a good item. No manufacturer refurbishes these things, which means someone else did it- and you don't want to be using a Li ion battery that a random (possibly amateur) person fixed. Not only may its performance be affected, but it's actually a potential hazard: these things can catch on fire if tampered with.

On the bright side, I pointed this out to the seller and they promptly refunded it. However, I'm sure they knew this to begin with and only did this because I caught them. I'm sure they've gotten away with it at other times when people didn't have the means or inclination to test the unit thoroughly.

Bottom line: you're taking a chance with these Amazon marketplace sellers. I'm pretty convinced now that the only way to be sure these batteries are genuine is to buy direct from Samsung or an authorized retailer. You pay a few bucks more, but it's worth knowing they're definitely the real article and not going to damage your device. Though technically 'free' as a result of the refund, I'm very reluctant to use this one and will probably only do so in an emergency.

5True OEM - not a knock off
By nothappy01
Yep, this seems to be the real deal Samsung Galaxy S3 OEM battery, not a knock of like some of the other retailers here on Amazon are selling. Looks and acts exactly like my original.

5Defender Cases have come a long way!
By Dueces Wild
I was a little hesitant at first when ordering this case due to the fact that the defender cases have been super bulky in the past. Much to my surprise, Otterbox and their Defender Series Cases have come a long way since I contemplated ordering one a few years ago. This case is extremely thin for the protection it seems to offer. The build quality is superb and should protect the phone very well! I love the built in screen protector as opposed to trying to line up the sticky screen protectors with a few of the cheaper cases. The price seems fair as well. I paid $49.95 on Amazon. If ordered directly from Otterbox it will cost around $10 more.

At the time of this post, the Lifeproof Case for the s5 has not been released. A huge deciding factor in choosing Otterbox over Lifeproof is the mixed reviews the s4 Lifeproof Case received about echoing when people try to talk to you.

The belt clip seems to be nice and lock the case into place, but realistically I'll never use it. I keep my phone in my pocket. The buttons seem stiff, but from what I've read it's common at first on Otterbox cases.

Overall, this case is a little pricey costing about 25% of the phone's cost after a contract renewal, but I feel it's definitely worth it (especially when you consider the alternative is paying full price for an s5 because yours broke in the middle of your contract). Lifeproof will cost you about $20-$30 more.

I'll try to update this review accordingly as time progresses!

3Good protection, but cutout is not aligned
By Jarrod
The overall protection is good. The cutout on the phone does align perfectly with the button and covers the button slightly. Also, the lip at the bottom of the case is a little to high if you are using the fingerprint scanner on the phone. This makes it slightly difficult to swipe your finger. The back has a heart rate monitor, which is accessible because Otterbox sloped the edge on the back. They should have done the same on the front. Also, if you place the phone face down this case will slide on a table because the hard plastic is raised higher than the outer rubber. While I was ordering the case I was worried that it would be too bulky, but this does offer great protection for the phone without adding too much bulk.

4Great case for protection, but makes fingerprint and heartbeat sensor hard to use
By MacGyver
I have really enjoyed this case over the past 4 days, but it won't be for everyone. For those that are rough on phones, don't mind using a standard pass code, and don't want to use the heartbeat sensor it will be the perfect case.

Pros:
-The case fits great and is much better than the defender I had for the iphone 3Gs.
-It installs quickly and doesn't leave air bubbles between the screen protector and display.
-The case is grippy without sticking to pockets.

Cons:
-The lip around the front of the screen makes the fingerprint scanner difficult to use, but it will work as long as you drag your finger across both the sensor and lip.
-The bezel around the camera makes the heartbeat sensor hard to use as well and I have had more issues with that than the finger print sensor. I wouldn't recommend this case if you are planning to use the sensor often, but it will work if you are just going to toy around with it.
-The case weighs around the same as the phone and adds a little bulk.
-The charging port is a little hard to get to, but can still easily be opened with fingernails

5Samsung rocks
By nanaladybug
I preordered this for my five year old grandson. It came yesterday. He did not put it down until bedtime. He loved it. It is true it is just like my samsung galaxy two except for a few additions. Also he was able to play it soon out of the box. His dad down loaded many of the educational tools that he is uses in school. This was the main reason for picking this tab. He was not approved for a free IPad that was given to children with autism. So he had been working on my tablet. Thank you Samsung for your products. Samsung rocks

4Teacher and Techie say good non-Apple product for kids
By Colleen Green
My five year old son has outgrown his LeapPad and has commandeered our iPads on numerous occasions to play Angry Birds, Word World or Where's My Perry. Unfortunately one day I found him watching You Tube videos of the graphic and violent video game Saint's Row. At that point we knew we would not simply be handing down our iPad 1 to him while we upgraded to newer iPads for ourselves. Apple simply has no provision for parental controls on their products which is sad. We've spent a great deal of money on apps through the Apple App Store. We have always loved that the apps from the App Store are certified even if you occasionally run into a few that don't work. Plus, Apple products last forever and tend to have good resale and trade in value.

Hence, we were skeptical when we decided to look at other tablet manufacturers for our son. We researched every kids tablet on the market. We felt he would either outgrow, break or not be able to access the apps he loves on most of the devices on the market. So, we turned to the Tab 3 Kids tablet as our solution.

Is it breakable? Yes. About as breakable physically as an iPad which tend to be pretty durable. However, as we have trained our son over several years to be gentle with our tablets, we weren't as worried about it. My iPad always had a rubber bumper on it and the bumper for the tab is exactly same. I expect it will hold up and protect the device the just as well.

Setting up the device was a headache. There was a lot of registering this and that, etc., unlike Apple which is ready to go out of the box. I am not a fan of the Android operating system. Neither is my husband who has worked in computer system networking for the last 18 years. However, given there's little choice in the kids tablet market with OSes, it could have been a worse experience. The so called "gifts with purchase" were worthless except for the 50g of drop box space. Unfortunately we already paid for Drop Box and weren't eligible for that.

Once I had figured out how to use the tablet it was pretty easy to get my son's favorite apps from the Google Play store. (The majority of the other tablets we looked at had no access to Google Play. A big turn off.) Google had most of the apps he uses. Sadly no Word World, but oh well. The costs for the apps were the same as the Apple ones.

The kids' portion of the tablet is pretty easy to use. You are only allowed 20 apps for the kids to access at a time. They can easily be switched out under parental controls though. The time limiters for the tablet are a little simple. Would have like a bit more choice and flexibility. You can either limit use of the device to anywhere up to just over an hour OR you can set the time the tablet is child accessible, ie, 10am to 2pm. You cannot set multiple access times.

The kids App Store is silly. I doubt my child will be interested in much of what is in there but he's surprised me on more than one occasion. There is no access directly to You Tube which is a big plus for me. I get tired of him watching videos of other people playing Angry Birds or Minecraft.

I was very easily able to set up his access to the apps I purchased through Google Play using the parental controls once I had downloaded them on the normal side.

Battery life seems comparable with our iPads. The screen size is good for him. Big enough to see unlike an iPhone or iPod Touch. The adapter for charging is a simple micro-USB so no special expensive cords to buy.

All in all it's a good little tablet for kids. I expect it will last a couple of years before needing replacing with the next new thing. A word of warning to parents though: don't buy this tablet and expect to "share" it with your child. Just because it has parental controls and has the normal Android OS on it as well doesn't mean your child isn't going to go absolutely nuts if he sees you using it. Take it from a parents who have owned iPads of various types since the day they hit the stores. Get your child THEIR OWN tablet even if they are not allowed to use it all the time. You'll appreciate not having to deal with the headaches.

5Great kids tablet that is still good for anyone else in the family too
By S. Placencio
This thing is great! Is the same as the regular Galaxy tab 3 but comes with kids mode and a lot of pre installed kids apps. Also is yellow with an orange rubber case included. My six year old son is always using my wifes ipod and my Galaxy s3 so he is a pro at using these already. I love the color and the fact that it has a case included. The kids mode is great and there are a lot of games and apps for free on the kids store. You can set up parental controls to limit how long your child uses the device and also a password to make sure your child can not access anything you don't want them to. I love the fact that you can change from kids mode to standard mode with the touch of a button ( after you put in your password) so it makes this a standard galaxy tab 3. My son will love this when he gets it on Christmas day. Was looking for a tablet for my son and this one is perfect!

5THE Tablet for Students, but Great for All
By B. Price
Review updated 2/5/2013. I ordered this tablet immediately when Amazon posted it with 1-day shipping and as of 7/20/2013 I haven't had any issues as a few users seem to have reported. Don't get discouraged if you get a lemon; just return it for another - Amazon has free returns/replacements in such cases.

* Hand Written Notes
- S Notes - Exports to PDF and also JPG. It has templates for various types of productivity. My favorites are the ruled paper, the meeting template (date, time, attendees, meeting notes) and the recipe template (I can imagine this being very useful for the kitchen, propped up in a case).
- Papyrus Beta - This free application is very nice and similar to S Note but has normal paper templates such as College Ruled, Wide Ruled, Narrow Ruled, Blank and 4 different Graph Paper types.
- ezPDF - Costs $3 and is what you'll probably want to make annotations on lecture slides and whatnot.
- MOST applications allow you to rest your palm on the tablet while writing, others are not as well written. This all depends on the author of a specific app.
- SOME applications have nice erasers. Some times you can press the button on the S Pen to erase instead of write and some times you can just use your finger to erase while using the S Pen to write. This all depends on the author of a specific application.

* Hand Writing Instead of Typing - The default keyboard has an option that lets you hand write in any input field instead of typing. Long-press the settings (gear) button on the keyboard to select the T button which enables hand writing. Please see the User Images of this product for a good example of this.

* Multitasking (updated 2/5/2013) - Within the past week I've noticed a number of apps I use get multi-screen support so it's much less limited and a gimmick, now. I can easily be taking notes on one half of the screen while browsing or chatting or whatever on the other half. With more apps supporting the feature now it's a much larger factor in whether or not to buy.

* GPS - Fast and accurate. I am currently on the first floor of a two-story apartment building about ten feet away from the outer wall (sliding glass door) and Google Maps had my position within 40 meters almost instantly after turning on the GPS receiver. Within 35ish seconds it had my position accurate to 10 meters.

* S Pen - Comfortable to hold (I'm a 5'10" tall guy and have normal sized hands). There's an odd button on the side which adds extra functionality with certain gestures. I have no idea how it works because I'm pretty sure the S Pen isn't powered in any way, but it's more than just a stylus.

* Screen - Very sensitive. I've been taking notes for half of my classes on my tablet and it works well. I usually have the brightness set to 10-15% or slightly less in classrooms or at home because that's all I really need but also to conserve battery life.

* Battery - While leaving it on all the time, wifi off when not using it, I manage to only charge my Note 10.1 once a week. Standard usage includes notes during seven hours of lecture each week and using it periodically throughout the day or in the evening.
- To really stretch your battery life you'll need to disable some apps. I disabled Google+ and some of the default/Samsung apps that come with the device in Settings->Application Manager. As of 2/5/2013 I'm still getting ~7 days out of one charge with moderate usage.

* Build Quality - Standard Samsung quality. The case has a lot of plastic and the back gives a little if you push on it but it definitely feels solid. Now that it's in a case the build quality doesn't matter any more.

* Speed
- Very smooth. I updated about 10 apps at the same time in the market, an operation which would nearly cripple my Galaxy S until it was done, and I couldn't tell any difference in the smoothness of the Note 10.1. While I was exploring I ended up having 15-20 applications open at the same time but again I couldn't tell any difference.
- Coming from a Galaxy S phone and hardly ever using a tablet before, I'm amazed by how fast this thing boots/restarts.

* Wifi - No complaints. It connects quickly and hasn't had any issues.

* Sound - Good, loud and scared my cat when I started something on Google Play. She looked around like she does when our surround sound is on because she doesn't understand what was making such a noise. I can't tell any difference in quality between it and my laptop when watching the same video on both (the laptop was ~$1700 before a coupon).

* Rooting Friendly - Check out the forum for this tablet on xda developers for info. This device already has developers that say they'll work on it and I'm sure more will sign up because the Note 10.1 stands out among the crowd.

* Universal Remote / IR Blaster
- Works well enough. I'm going to sell my Logitech Harmony One universal remote because the Peel application works but could be nicer. With my Harmony One I could set up custom activities like Listen to Radio on my Onkyo receiver but the Peel application only has standard actions like Watch Bluray. I can still set it to play the radio but it's buried in the menus.
- Great cable TV interface. We don't watch/have cable, but if you tell it what service you have it'll tell you what is currently playing, what will be playing and provides customized content based on the preferences you specify. It works with DVRs so I imagine you can manage all of that from the Peel application as well.

* Cameras - Amazon removed the images I posted for some reason so just take my word that the cameras work well. Both the front 1.9MP camera and 5MP camera fully live up to their specs.

* The Wife - Now that I've set it up the way I like it she won't put it down. You may not want your not-so-techie spouse to love it, but at least my wife won't be complaining that I spent $550 on it and then another nearly $100 on accessories =)

* SwitchMe App - When set up properly, if your tablet is rooted, this free application will give your Android device multiple profiles. Normally an Android device can only have one primary Google account to use with Google specific applications and whatnot, but this allows you to have separate profiles with separate accounts and separate applications.
Note: If you're going to use the SwitchMe app, DO NOT clone one profile to create another. Just set up a completely new profile.

5Really like it
By Alex Alexzander
I didn't buy mine from Amazon as I couldn't find it on Amazon. I ended up going to my local BestBuy to pick it up. The reviews online were mostly okay except for The Verge which said it was sluggish and basically was down beat on it.

I decided to buy it and if I didn't like it I would be returning it. I picked it up around 5:30PM on the 16th of August which is the release date. The first thing I did was get rid of all the widgets that are on the home screens. I suspect those might slow it down. I kept only one widget which is the clock / weather widget. I then downloaded all my favorite apps and began to arrange and configure it the way I wanted it.

It comes with Polaris Office, which is better than QuickOffice if you plan to create and edit word docs, Polaris is easier. To view documents and complex excel sheets I find QuickOffice often does the better job. I ed up keep both installed just in case.

I installed 14 games on it. All of which perform very well. There are my favorites, like FieldRunners, and newer ones like Final Fantasy, Ski Safari, Nova 3, Osmos HD, Amazing Alex and Zynga poker that I also really like. This quad core eats through anything with ease.

Got the latest Google Maps, which is so fantastic on this. You can save a Map so it's available without a data connection. Perfect for these WiFi devices. I'm a fan of the new Google Play movies, music, books and Magazines too. But if you prefer Amazon or Nook, those are available as always. It comes with the B&N Nook Reader by default.

There are Galaxy Note 10.1 specific apps like Adobe's PS Touch. I've been using Photoshop since 1996 so I am going to carefully review the built in lessons for PS Touch, a mobile version of Photoshop and see how far I can take that. If you are a subscriber to Adobe's Cloud services you're supposed to be able to edit a PSD with PS Touch, save it to the cloud, and then continue to edit it with Photoshop the desktop app.

There is also S Note. S Note and PS Touch are geared to work well with the new Samsung Galaxy S Pen. This was a primary reason for me to be interested in this particular tablet. The S Pen is so accurate that you can hand write whole sheets of handwritten text with it. I didn't try to have it translated into actual text like type written text. I just left it as my handwriting. Really like it.

Now this new Note 10.1 also has a new Muli-tasking feature. I should say that it doesn't multitask any app combo you want. Just a few apps blessed by Samsung which are: The base browser, not Chrome, their video player, Polaris Office, the picture gallery and their email app, not the GMail email app. Their email app can be used with POP, IMAP and Microsoft's Exchange via the built in Active Sync. So I tend to use that email client for work email and I use GMail as my personal email client.

Now, according to The Verge, multitasking was horrible. Not so fast Verge. I don't know what you guys are doing but I multitask'd just about every way you can on this and it works surprising well. I wrote notes while playing video. I played video while scrolling up and down on a web page. I copied text from an email to S Note, which both apps loaded in the side by side both on the screen simultaneously method. I had no trouble at all.

I bought Autodesk's Sketchpad Pro and can draw with that just fine. I also bought Adobe Ideas, but haven't yet played with that at all. Samsung also has their own kind of store and I am going to see if they have more S Pen specific apps. Really like the S Pen a lot. It's exactly like a typical Wacom Stylus. It's sharp, not that horrible eraser head large stylus you get stuck with if you want to use a stylus on the iPad. Although the iPad has Paper by 53, which I wish I had on here.

I'm really just getting started. I'll have to update this review over the weekend. Only played with this new tab for about 4 to 6 hours now.

Check out Google's Currents for news, and Pocket for saving articles for future reading. Both are great on this tablet. I think all the bases are covered with this tablet. Movies, games, magazines, office and productivity, art creation and editing. It does everything. And since it is Android, you have a real file system which makes email a breeze. Love this thing so far.

5It's Samsung time now
By Jini Jazz
I am a long time Apple guy who currently owns 2012 Retina Macbook Pro, 27 inch iMac, iPad3, & iPhone 4S. I stay with Apple products mainly because Mac does the best for what I do. However, I never have been 100% satisfied with iPhone & iPad due to their unnecessary restrictions and limitations. I just couldn't find alternatives - I love Android in terms of features and potential, but the execution(overall user experience) has been lagging.

I guess that the time has come. Galaxy Note 10.1 made big step forward and turned the potential into reality. Just after 48 hours learning and playing around, I am convinced this is the device I want to use everyday. It is the first tablet that actually helps my productivity, no more frustration with restricted toy. So iPad goes to my mom now.

I won't relist pros and cons, since all reviewers already listed them. But I just want to correct a few misconceptions that some biased online reviewers manufactured.

1. Some people lie about build quality and they claim it makes squeaky sound when they grap it. Either they got the defect or it is downright lie. It feels solid and much better material for everyday use. Aluminum on my iPad may "look" better, but not practical without cover or case. I always had to use cover for my iPad to prevent scratches. But if you have to use case to cover, what's the point? It covers "beautiful" aluminum anyway. I don't even use cover/case for Galaxy Note and it feels just right in many hours use. Again, this two tone design(mine is white-silver) looks beautiful, very comfortable for many hours. This tablet is designed to work, not just look.

2. Screen - screen resolution is one of the reasons I was hesitant to try Galaxy Note. All I can say is just go try it yourself. This screen is beautiful! Yes you heard this from the owner who use Retina Macbbok Pro and 27 iMac everyday. Do not fall into john doe's resolution comparison, just go check it yourself! Sure 1920 would be nice, but I'd take Galaxy's 1280 with S-Pen any day.

3. Some say it's expensive. Do you know how much it cost to buy wacom device with this size and feature alone?

Most importantly, this tablet is so fast and responsive and delivers many things in my wish list "today". No more compromising and stuck with iPad. S-Pen, true multitasking (yes limited as of now, but it's already very powerful and useful), and microSD support (I feel like a prisoner who just escaped from Alcatraz!). I suggest you to check this device yourself and never fall into some online reviews.

Don't get me wrong. I still love Apple products and I will stay with Mac unless I see something better for my life and work. I just wanted to share my experience with Galaxy Note 10.1 because there are so many false reviews from Apple or Android fan boys and girls.

*** I strongly recommend you to watch all SAMSUNGmobile's YouTube videos to utilize Galaxy to its full potential. You will see why I think no other tablets can even compete with Galaxy Note. ***

One more thing...I know my next phone will be Samsung Galaxy Note II.

Screen protector fits the screen well and is easy to apply without bubbles or dust getting under it. Comes with a little card to scrape the air out if you need to, some dust removal stickers and a small micro fiber cloth to clean the screen before application.

5Holy Cow, Great customer service!
By P. Wood
Alright, full disclosure. I installed my screen protector incorrectly, actually I didn't remove the small plastic protector that Samsung places discretely over the front camera. I cleaned the screen thoroughly and inspected the screen but I never thought to look at the front camera. So i continued to install the LUVVITT screen protector and sure enough, there was a large air pocket under the top right screen. So shoot, now what? Well I took the screen protector off, so I could remove the small plastic piece and of course it would not re-apply.

I was frustrated and contacted LUVVITTs customer support to order a new screen protector and without hesitation 5 minutes after I sent my email to them they replied an email with a tracking number. At no cost, without any fault on their own they replaced the screen protector for free. Even if I incorrectly install the next one they send me I will give this company 5-stars and continue to purchase from this company.

5I am impressed
By Kevin H.
I installed this on my S5 with a LOVVITT ULTRA ARMOR case and it looks great! The glass leaves a slight reveal from the phones glass and does not interfere with this case and probably most others as well. I was worried about spending 10 dollars on a screen protector since my last efforts with plastic have been so-so. Putting this on was way easier than plastic ones. Just make sure after cleaning the glass on the phone you look carefully and remove any dust or fibers with a piece of tape. Try a dry run first with the protector on so you can see how much room there is around the sides and button on the phone. Start at the bottom and line up with button and sides and drop on. It adheres itself to the phone and looks cool when doing so. Not one bubble and just had to press down in a couple spots on the edge. The performance with the touch screen is perfect and visually cant tell its even there. It seems like it should last the life of the phone but only time will tell.

5Great first impression
By gnef
I just received this tonight, and have installed it in the kitchen. I was careful to clean thoroughly.

I used the masking tape hinge method, which helped to line things up - use two pieces of tape strapped from the backside, and attach to the screen protector. unstick and realign as necessary before removing the adhesive backing. Once ready, 'open' the hinge, do a quick wipe, then remove the adhesive backing, and allow the hinge to put the screen protector back to where you had aligned it to.

The glass is amazingly clear. I did have some concerns about the fingerprint scanner, but it is working as expected.

I do expect this to protect the gorilla glass 3 underneath it. The protector is somewhat flexible even though it is glass, and the film should also help to distribute any forces that press on the screen itself. At this price, I am willing to replace the protector if it is damaged in the least, though I hope to be careful enough with this phone not to worry about it!

5Best Android Phone Ever
By Kjack
This phone is great but I am pretty upset ... Why? Because I will never be able to use a smaller screen again. Just kidding but I bought this from Amazon because I got bored with my iPhone 4s. I've been with iPhone since 2007 and me leaving for Android was something I was real hesitant to do, but that big screen was tempting, I decided to do it and don't regret it one bit. Even though the unlocked Note has a faster processor, this phone is still super fast and has blazing fast LTE. My only concern was the battery life and I am even happy with that. I can go a full day and some on a single charge. Of course I rooted the phone and added a custom rom so I expected this (custom roms are more battery friendly then stock Android). When I was on stock I could still make it most of the day with moderate-heavy usage (By heavy I mean internet, twitter, instagram, messaging, music, it was just non stop usage). The camera is great, photos look amazing even in low lighting, and the screen is like an HD television. You can even buy a bluetooth keyboard and and hook up a mouse to use this thing like a computer! The S pen is a great feature even though I don't use it much. The only real complaint I have is how long it takes to charge which is around 3 hours, I mean you have to expect it because the battery is HUGE (2500mAh) so yeah it takes awhile to charge. After the first few battery cycles however charging time will improve. Anyway the phone itself is just a beautiful sight to look at, I get compliments everywhere I go like "Whoa look at the size of that thing!" no but seriously everyone is shocked at the size and then they instantly love it. In all honesty I was a bit nervous when I first received it because it really is a big phone, but after a week I viewed it as a normal size phone and everyone elses as too small (seriously I can't go any smaller now), and I would even considered going bigger. I can't wait for the Galaxy Note 2 which is rumored to arrive in December. Honestly if you don't care about 4G LTE (because that's the AT&T Note's specialty) then I would get the unlocked Galaxy Note N7000 it has a faster processor and better battery life. Both are great phones however, and I wouldn't trade this thing for any other phone not even the new Samsung Galaxy S III. It's the best Android phone ever!

5Works on Tmobile T-Mobile T Mobile
By Fausto Fondeur
I just want to add that this phone is unlocked and works on T-Mobile prepaid plan.
I'm getting 4G LTE, on NJ.

Also,
To update to Jelly Bean 4.1.2, just install Samsung Kies, it's a free app from Samsung.
Connect the phone, and after connecting to it, it will request to update.

I personally recommend that after an update you do a factory reset to delete anything left from the previous 2.3 android system.
Phone worked so much smother after doing a factory reset, as recommended by Samsung support (found it online on a forum).

Finally, all the ATT apps can be disabled.
Just go to Setting -> Application Manager -> ALL (you need to swipe right to get here) -> click on the APP, instead of having a uninstall option, you will be able to disable them.

That's it!
Hope it helps someone, as for me it was a trial, I couldn't really find simple answer on the internet.

I didn't load any modem driver, rooted, etc.
This is unrooted and stock.

5Perfect for me!!
By Fadkar
let me begin by saying that this phone isn't for everyone. Don't be scared off due to its large size because if you use your phone as a multimedia device for watching videos, reading articles, reading books, playing games, sending emails, etc. then this is the phone for you! if you use a phone STRICTLY as a phone for calling and texting then perhaps a smaller phone is better.
The fact is that there are tradeoffs with every decision. getting this big of a phone has a tradeoff of portability and a little convenience. it still does fit in my skinny jeans, however this is more of a two-handed phone. and thats perfectly fine for me because i believe that its worth using 2 hands if i get to enjoy a screen so beautiful and large!
although large, its very slim, and smooth. i love it.

pros:
-the screen is very beautiful and large
-resolution of 800x1280
-Super Amoled HD screen means that colors are gorgeous, vibrant, and saturated!
-slim! so it still fits in my pockets!
-Very smooth performance

cons:
-uses a pentile matrix...this really isn't an issue unless you plan to view your phone from a 170 degree angle. there is no discoloration unless your looking at the screen completely from the side with you eyes level with the screen.
-for some reason, there is a discolored patch when taking up close pictures of white objects. I'm not sure why but this isn't an issue when there is adequate lighting and if the object of the picture is further than 2 feet away.

overall: an amazing phone! i would definitely recommend!

5Samsung S4 sets the bar to a new level
By Paul S. Remington
The Samsung S4 cell phone is the hottest and newest phone on the smart phone market. This Android device has gotten much press and rightly so. In terms of specifications, the S4 has a lot going for it that has it as the leader of the pack over many smart phones. But at first glance, this new phone looks and feels much like its predecessor, the Galaxy S3. So what makes this phone different and why should you be interested in purchasing it? This review will explore those issues and help answer that question.

When you have a good thing going, why not start with that as your baseline. Samsung has done just that with the S4. The S3 and the S4 are very similar on many levels and very different in key areas. Their size is essentially the same at 5.38" x 2.75" x .31". This actually makes the S4 .7mm thinner than the S3. Its weight is 4.6 ounces, .7 ounces lighter than the S3. Comparing the two, Samsung has increased the size of the screen to a 5" display that offers full HD resolution at 1920 x 1080 pixels. While other phones offer similar resolutions, none have the same quality image that comes from the Super AMOLED screen offered on the S4. Side-by-side comparisons with phones such as the HTC One find the S4 shines with more prominent resolution and richer color tones.

The screen also has improved capacitance over the S3 and previous Samsung offerings. This improved capacitance supports phone use while gloves are worn. Those who live in cold climates or those who are fashion conscious and wear gloves will find this enhanced capability helpful. While this capability is a nice addition, it takes some getting used to. Because it is more sensitive, it's easy to falsely register a finger press if you hover your hand over the screen in the just the right way. Hopefully Samsung can correct this performance flaw with future software upgrades.

Regardless, the S4 screen is a remarkable technological creation. Its visual performance makes it like a smaller cousin of much larger HD televisions. It is a beautiful piece of work and the highest quality screen of its size presently on the market.

At first glance, the camera appears to also be the same as the S3. This is, in fact, not the case. The S4 houses a whopping 13-megapixel, rear-facing camera and a 2-megapixel, front facing camera. The rear-facing, 13-megapixel camera image is excellent. The imaging capabilities of both cameras extend past the raw hardware with added features built into their associated software. There is software to do most anything you can think of with the images taken. Software even uses both the front and back camera to offer all kinds of imaging effects from panoramic images to slow motion videos.

Much of the new hardware, software, and extended features built into the S4 place heavy processing demands on the phone's engine. Because of this, Samsung has integrated a 1.9GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 processor to help keep things purring along smoothly. At the time of this review, this makes the S4 one of the fastest smartphones on the market.

Coupled with this increased processing power is an expanded memory card slot for additional storage. Samsung is selling the S4 in 16GB, 32GB, and 64GB configurations. For those considering the S4 with 16GB of storage, this may be a bit limiting. Approximately 6GB is eaten up by the OS and installed apps, which leaves a scant 8-9GB of storage. This is 2GB less storage than the S3. The S4 supports the installation of up to an additional 64GB using a Micro SD card. If you're considering purchasing this phone, you might want to add a Micro SD card to your purchase and expand the base memory, or purchase an S4 with a higher amount of integrated storage.

Keep in mind that the more data you add to your Micro SD card, the more information the S4 has to parse. If you have a 64GB SD card packed with pictures and videos, when you open the Gallery to view them, even the quad-core processor will crank itself silly to host them for you; it will take time for them to display. There's no working around this. It's the nature of the beast. Just accept this as a current limitation based on processor speed and storage mass.

The front of the phone contains a number of additional sensors that monitor eye movement and proximity so the phone knows how far it is from your ear. An infra red blaster is integrated into the top of the phone to enable it to act as a remote, with the appropriate app installed to function as a remote. These sensors and the infra red blaster offer many new features not available with the S3. The phone can act as a remote control for your television, CD/DVD player, A/V receiver, and even home appliances that support remote control. The eye sensor offers additional features that control screen dimming and auto pausing when you look away from the screen. Likewise, when you look at the screen, dimming and auto pausing resume their normal operation.

Applications available to support the additional sensors include Air View, Air Gesture, and Smart Scroll. While these features are futuristic and helpful in theory, they aren't flawless in practice. They are also rather complex to learn and use, which detracts from the concept of simplicity when it comes to operating the device. Take this into consideration when adopting the phone for your use. Not all the features have to be used at once. You may find some features helpful while others are an annoyance. They are all highly configurable and it will take some time and practice to set them up to your liking.

Like the S3, the S4 supports Samsung's S Beam and near field communication (NFC). S Beam allows two Samsung phones to be placed back-to-back so they can share multimedia content such as videos, music, pictures, etc. The devices only need to be placed a few centimeters from each other to link, and, unlike Bluetooth, no pairing is needed. Communication is provided by WiFi Direct, which makes transfer speeds quite good.

Samsung has received many user complaints over the quantity of polyurethane used with their phones. They are plastic centric in construction and many consumers feel this detracts from a robust, solid feel. The S4 seems to have taken this into consideration with the addition of a flat metal bezel around the side edge of the phone. Much like the iPhone, the S4 has a metallic edge that augments its former plasticized edge construction.

The case itself is similar to the S3. The rear cover is easily removed to reveal the battery, SIMM card, and Micro SD card.

As for battery life, the S4 stock battery is 2,600mAh compared to the 2,100mAh S3 battery. This is a 20% increase in battery size with no added thickness to the phone's form factor. In fact--as stated earlier--the S4 is .7mm thinner than the S3. This added battery storage is required due to the increased screen size and additional features and applications. Each person's use is highly personalized, so it's difficult to gauge how this battery will perform with your personal use, but, in general, it seems to be an adequate amount of power storage for moderate use. Still, it will more than likely require daily charging. If this is a concern to you, you might consider an extended-life battery. These batteries are freely sold on Amazon and other locations, but most of them require an aftermarket back to the case that will replace your stock rear cover. Extended batteries mean heftier weight and added thickness to the phone. Another option is to purchase an additional battery as a backup for when your primary battery discharges.

Out of the box, the S4 comes equipped with Android Jelly Bean 4.2.2 and a huge amount of software. If there's one complaint about this phone it is in relation to the amount of features and software bundled with it. The S4 has a mountain of software that, at first glance, can be absolutely overwhelming. It will take time to sort out and learn everything this phone can do, so pencil in an evening or two to explore, configure, and learn what's new and how to use it. The list is far too extensive to cover in this review, but it should be stated that every feature the phone has is supported by associated software. In addition to this software, Samsung has packed new applications to satisfy every possible type of user. You may find it all useful, but this is doubtful. Most likely, you'll use a subsection of all the software installed and make it your own. One could say Samsung has given the consumer the benefit of choice by adding so many features and so much software. Sometimes it's better to have too much than not enough, and this is true here. Rather than be overwhelmed by it, see it as a library of possibilities that supports a healthy amount of functions. Decide which functions are useful to you and learn them. For those functions and applications that hold little interest, leave them alone for now.

The S4 is an enhanced deconstruction and reconstruction of the S3. If you currently own the S3 and are considering an upgrade, take stock in the added features and capabilities of the S4. The S4 will give you the latest Android has to offer; a larger amount of storage space; a fabulous HD screen; a high-quality, 13-megapixel camera; huge amounts of added features and software; and a fantastic processor under the hood. If these things are important to you, then the S4 may be an exciting upgrade. If you're happy with the features and performance of your current S3, then you may want to save your money and stay with what you have.

Overall, the S4 is a brilliant device. It's not without its flaws and there is always room for improvement. While Apple performed wonders defining the modern smartphone, Samsung has helped take the concept one step further. If you're looking to upgrade your older smartphone and break into the Samsung Galaxy world for the first time, the S4 is a fantastic selection. It is, arguably, the best Android phone on the market, at present. Some may say it's the best smartphone, period. Each person's decision and opinion is highly individualistic. One thing is for sure, Samsung has pulled out all the stops to ensure consumers get the most for their money, and they have set the bar even higher for newcomers to take the mantle of achievement to a new level.

1Awesome, but just for the initial 45 days of use - wifi/bt are dead and requires motherboard replacement
By Tarek Bazzi
I already own an I 9505 and purchased this as a gift to my wife. She loved it, but wifi and bluetooth went dead after aprox. 45 days of use.
After noticing that there is no warranty from the seller after the first month of purchase; that Samsung Brazil informs that cannot accept an International version of GT-I9505 and that it has no International Warranty I am extremely disappointed.
I had to send the phone to a local 'generic' technical assistance for repair and they are asking me $300.00 for a new motherboard (the wifi/bt modules are soldered in the motherboard).
The total cost x benefit relation became terrible. I am spending a total of more than $850.00 ($650 for the phone + $300 for the repair), so it would be better for me to buy it here in Brazil, parcel the total amount in my credit card and would still have Samsung's warranty.

I don't know if they exist here, but look for sellers offering products with International Warranty. My disappointment for buying this product from this seller is tremendous as I bought it in late December 2013 and in early February 2014 the phone was almost unusable.

5exactly what I wanted
By J. Park
Fast shipping and great customer service. The case fits my Verizon Galaxy S3 perfectly. The picture on the website comes out turquoise, but it is not as florescent. It is more of a pastel mint color, which is exactly what I wanted. I was initially shipped a product with a little chip of color missing in the front. When I contacted the seller, they promptly replied and sent me a replacement. I didn't even have to send back the defective item. Definitely satisfied with the product as well as service! :)

5Best case ever!
By DJoy
I rarely review products but this one deserves my time. Of all the phone cases I have ordered over the years this is absolutely the best one ever. Perfect form and fit. And the slight tacky feeling helps against drops. Yet it is smooth enough not to attract grime and finger prints. And my favorite color. I absolutely love it and will be ordering again in other colors.

5Update 6/11/13 (Price drop) GREAT protection, easy to use, slightly uncomfortable clip
By Morley Dotes
Price update June 14: Saw it drop to 31 and change, then back up.

Update 6/11/13: Just an FYI folks, this is currently at 34.82 and free shipping! This is a no brainer, and a steal. None of the stores around me are giving any kind of discount....if they have it.

I still love this case, but I did want to let you know that if you rely on the vibration to notify you, you might miss some calls. This does soften the vibration quite a bit. If you are holding it, it's not a problem, but sometimes, when it is on my belt with a shirt tucked in, and I am walking, I do not feel the vibration. There is no problem if I am still. I also think that this is in part due to the phone. The vibrate strength, even on full, is not as strong as my old phone, so the extra cushion from the case just softens it up even more....but you know what, this weekend I have seen three people with this phone and Belkin cases and they all had cracked glass!

After getting a Belkin case for my S4, it took me only an hour to go out and buy the Otterbox 77-27434 Defender Series and Holster Case for Samsung Galaxy S 4 - 1 Pack - Retail Packaging - Black. The difference is night and day and while this is more than twice the price of the Belkin it is totally worth it! Plus, you don't need to spend money on a screen protector, so it really isn't that much more.

The Defender is really a three piece, full coverage, case. It provides full coverage for your S4, corners, back, front, screen and it has flip covers for the charger connection, etc., and those flips flip up easily, even without fingernails. The case itself provides excellent grip all around without being intrusive. It is a little difficult pressing the buttons on the face, but my fingers are a little big. One of my FAVORITE things is the screen protector....NO bubbles! Yup, you heard me right, no bubbles. That's because you don't actually have to "apply" the protector to the screen. This is awesome. If you look at every screen protector I have reviewed for my iPhones and iPads, they all had bubbles....I have come to hate bubbles, and thought I would have to learn to live with them. I am here to tell you, I am now bubble free (and so is my wife)!!!

When pressing the side buttons you do have to press a little hard, but for the protection you get, it's fine. Also, the openings for the camera are angled so that the thick case does not appear in the pictures. The case itself is micro-textured to provide good grip without feeling rough.

There is NO interference at all with using the IR when reading and scrolling down by nodding my head or turning a page with a wave of my hand. Sharing pictures and video work equally as well with no perceptible interference. The only real issue is that I did notice a slight difference in wi-fi reception in our house with the case on. It is slightly weaker, but nothing big, and after one day I don't even think about it. The entire screen isvisible and nothing is blocked.

The only thing that I would knock half a star for is the clip is uncomfortable and digs into my skin when it's on my belt, and is especially bad when my shirt is not tucked in. They could have made this better, and I wonder ifI will come and downgrade this to 4 stars later because of this. For now, I will say 4.5 stars with an easy round-up to 5.

Instructions when installing your phone:
CAREFULLY remove the rubber gasket, using your fingernails. There are little spaces along the sides. You need to use these to seperate it or you risk breaking it. Once that is done, the rest is easy. Try not to touch the inner portion of the screen as it comes perfectly clean (at least it did on both of ours). Putting everything together after this pointis easy and takes less than 30 seconds. Gently click everything together and you are ready to go.

We both love this case and I highly recommend it.

4Solid, seamless protection, exactly what you'd expect from OtterBox...
By D. K. Benjamin
I bought an OtterBox case for my previous Galaxy device and loved it, so when I upgraded to the S4, buying a case was an easy choice. The Defender Series provides very, very solid protection for your phone with as little added bulk as possible.

PROS:
--Case fits with the S4 as tight and seamlessly as possible.
--Two piece hard case plus rubberized exterior pull-over provide protection that is the best I've found available.
--Easy to assemble and take apart when you do need to get the phone out.
--Proper openings for camera, flash and speaker on the back, for sensors and speaker in front.
--Pull out tabs for headphone and mini-USB jacks. Keeps dust out. These tabs are now reinforced with plastic, an upgrade from my last Defender case for the Galaxy which had standard rubber tabs.
--Sleek, black design goes very well with the black S4.
--Bottom of case does not interfere with home key or softtouch keys at the bottom of the phone (this was a problem w/ my old one).
--Raised lip on the case surrounds the screen, providing perfect protection from scratcing.
--Comes with a built in screen protector (some will like this, I did not, see below).

CONS (Not much here really):
--Raised rubber areas where you press down the power button and volume rocker require a heavy press for the buttons to function. This was not the case on my old Otterbox, which only required a natural press of the botton/rocker. This may be a problem that goes away with more use, but this was the first problem I noticed, having to really mash the button down to get it to work.
--Was not a fan of the built in screen protector, I didn't figure I would be when I made the purchase though. In fact I removed it after only a few hours of use. It didn't noticeably affect the touch screen, visual impact was minimal. The screen had a couple minor flaws (couldn't tell if it was scratched or what). I'm OCD about things like that so it wasn't going to work for me. If you want a case without a built in cover, you should probably know that the protector is glued into the plastic casing. It isn't something you can slide right out. This isn't to say it is difficult to get out. It is glued down, but you can easily lift up a corner and remove the screen. The glue will pull off easily in one piece as well. It really isn't a big deal, but it might be a good idea for OtterBox to consider a slide-out screen protector or something like that for those who either don't like the one that comes with it or don't want to use them at all (I am the latter, the raised lip on the OtterBox keeps the screen protected very well for me, I had my last Galaxy in one of these for 2 years and traded it in without a single scratch, no screen protector, the screens on this series of phones has been very durable in my experience).

BOTTOM LINE:

If you have an S4 and want maximum protection for your device, this is the way to go in my opinion. It protects the phone with less added bulk than one would guess or surmise from the photos. The case fits snugly and blends well with the phone. Minor drawbacks with the power and rocker buttons, and the screen protector wasn't personally for me, but overall these are negligible issues, it's a great case!

5Looks Like It Will Protect My New S4
By Florida Pat
I dropped my iPhone 4G for the first time while on vacation two weeks ago. Even though it was in a fairly padded flip case, it hit just right on the granite floor and cracked the front glass of the iPhone. Replacing the glass would have been as expensive as upgrading to a similar phone or half the cost of getting the iPhone 5 or the Galaxy S4. I chose the Galaxy S4.

I did not buy this Otterbox case at Amazon although I would have saved some money. I spent the extra to immediately protect my new S4 when I purchased it at my local AT&T store. I got the Raspberry case because it would be hard to lose in my purse.

So far I am exceptionally pleased with this case. It does not add much weight to the phone (which is quite a bit larger than the iPhone) and it fits well in my (female) hand. I'd recommend it to anyone looking for excellent protection for their S4.

Cute covers are fun but protection is critical as I found out when I dropped my iPhone. In a case like this I know it would have survived the fall.

UPDATE: Two months later and I am very happy that I bought this case. I'd have liked to save a few dollars by buying it on Amazon but waiting a couple days to receive it didn't seem a good option after dropping my iPhone.

I just finished installing a microSDHC card into my phone which meant removing the Otterbox case for the first time. It was simple to remove and to replace once the card was installed.

I admit I had several cases for my iPhone, some better protection than others. This is the only case I have for my s4. If I get another case it will be the same case in a different color.

5What a PERFECT large Phone and Mini Tablet Combo it works wonderfully! A detailed review!
By Daisy S
This is just what I was searching for as it is a tablet and an 100 percent GSM UNLOCKED phone! I have used and tested thoroughly and found that it does have so many overall advantages. So as a techie, I tested this phone/tablet out to great lengths and below I will list what I have found to be the Pros and Cons of this amazing device. *This is a excellent choice in an ALL IN ONE device. For me, I use it as my primary phone with no contract plan that includes minutes and a small data plan. (Most of the time, I am on WiFi for the internet but I need my minutes to make and receive phone calls etc).
Also I want to state that the phone accepts a MICRO Sim card, not a regular full sized Sim. Since I had an old Samsung Tab 2 3g with a regular Sim, I just removed my old Sim Card from the older tablet phone and cut the Sim with a Micro Sim cutter, placed it into my Tab 3 phone/tablet and my data was there, my minutes were there, worked great!
Also this tablet installed an update to the OS from December 2013 and this tablet phone runs so fast now!

If you are looking for: a lightweight combo phone and tablet that is very easy to hold in one hand comfortably and you want a basic and easy to use tablet, then consider this tablet. While it does not have every bell and whistle installed on it, it is a good choice for: Checking emails, Getting Online, Looking at Pictures, Watching Home Movies. And as a bonus, if you request it, I will share with you how to get Archived Flash so you can watch online videos on the tablet. And I encourage you to ask me questions in the comments (should you have a question) about this tablet and I will answer all questions. Here are the Pros and the Cons below.

PROS:

1- WiFi connects easily and the signal is good in most places I tested. And I received a STRONG WiFi signal on this device.
2- The advantage of having a SD card slot that will hold up to 64GB.
3- Small and lightweight. Comfortable to carry around and place in backpack or briefcase easily.
4- Micro USB Port - This is common in most tablets these days, but the older Tab 2 line did not have micro port but the propriety wider port.
5- Screen clarity - For me, I found this screen easy to read eBooks on and view internet pages.
6- I had a Tab 3 7.0 WiFi only and sold it to a friend, bought this one and find that it is a much better tablet.

CONS:
- Low internal storage - this tablet comes with 8GB internal storage (advertised). Because the OS takes up room, apps etc, take up room, the tablet just has about 4.7GB in the internal storage. This is not good because when you install an app from the Playstore, it goes onto your internal storage not on the External SD card. (The external SD card is meant for personal files such as your music, photos, home movies, etc).

**The GOOD NEWS IS: If you do not install a lot of huge games onto this tablet, you will probably do just fine with this storage.

- Minor Heat after downloading, games – Under normal conditions (when not running intense games or downloading files etc), this tablet runs very cool. It did get up to 102 degrees ONCE when I downloaded lots of apps from the Playstore, but then it went back to a low 80 degrees after that. This is normal though for this particular tablet, not a cause for any alarm.

Bottom line and Summary:

Would I buy this phone tablet all over again? Yes in a heartbeat! If you are looking to buy a LARGE PHONE that you can use as a MINI TABLET, this is the one that I recommend to you as I love mine!
Since I am a techie, you can ask me any questions in the comments under this review.

5Handy Little Computer / Phone
By BazTyd
Perfect size for portable internet browsing, yet still maintain phone / texting capailities. Also purchased a keyboard case for it, and nothing like being able to carry a laptop in your back pocket, and still keep in contact with others. Based off the popular Galaxy S series, the 4.1.2 operating system has a bonus of not being locked to carriers bloatware.
Would avoid this seller though ...
Advertised FREE shipping, yet sent it postage due upon delivery.

Received in good order and am very satisfied in the functioning of the phone. The size of the screen is also in the mid range. Not too big or too small. It works as I expected

5Samsung Galaxy S Duos 2 - S7582 DUAL SIM - Factory Unlocked - International...
By Alberto U. Shadah
Nice and neat product. I placed a T-Mobile Sim card and it started working nicely.. So far I am very happy with this phone. I hope will last longer than my last Samsung Captivate (lasted 2 months) before going crazy. (the phone of course).
I am still configuring all the apps and haven't tried 3G yet. I'll post when done.
When I plugged it in on my USB port, it inmediatly, through KIES, did an automatic software update and it was done perfectly.
So far, very happy with this phone.

5Good buy
By Tammy Good
Just got this and so far it's running smoothly and I was surprised to see that the operating system is actually 4.2.2 Jellybean. This is very comparable and cheaper alternative to the S4. The phone came with earphones an international charger and a usb cable. I am very pleased with this phone I highly recommended it.

5Simple and easy
By Ryan
Watch Video Here: http://www.amazon.com/review/R1N4RX2ZR45RJS Simple and easy to use. I discuss the color and explore the features this case has to offer in my video. I've enjoyed it thus far and feel my Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 is protected from everyday wear and tear with the case.

5Fits good and works well
By Chris Geiger
I purchased this for my Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 7.0 Tablet. It fits great, works well. It has openings for both the front and rear camera. Cuts out in the material allow for easy access to the charge / data port, micro sd card, volume, powe headphones and speakers. It also has a small stylus/pen holder integrated into the top. Flap flips around to hold tablet upright on a table for easy viewing. I use it every day and after a month there are no signs of wear. Outside seems to be real leather. Inside is soft microfiber material that won't scratch. I can definitely recommend this.

5Very nice orange color, durable construction, you won't believe you ever lived without the hand strap.
By Sherry R. Melancon
I just upgraded from the original tab 10.1 to the Note 10.1. I had my tab 10.1 for years, and I had a silicone amzler jelly case for it, and a Samsung branded slim form fitting case. I had peeves with both, and switched back and forth frequently depending on which peeve I wanted to avoid. The Amzler Jelly was nice, but didn't have any stand or screen protection. The Samsung case was incredibly slim and sleek, and had a nice magnetic catch, but it didn't have a cutout for the charger when it was closed(???) and the back of the case flopped around and got in the way when it was open.

I went ahead and ordered two cases for my note 10.1. This one, and an amzler jelly. This case is so convenient and comfortable that the jelly skin will likely only be used in narrow circumstances.

When you open it, the hand strap makes the tablet into an extension of your off hand. It has a second elastic strip to secure the folded back to the front so that you don't have to worry about the thing flopping open while you have it secured to your hand. It folds into a nice stand easily, and has a cut out for the charger. It feels like a nice leather folio in your hands, and it has a striking look. I got the orange, and it isn't a bright "look at me" orange. It's a very dignified and classy orange.

The stitching is precise and sturdy, and everything lines up where it should. The tablet is secure in the case. It has a little loop for putting a second pen. The S pen is amazing, but it has quite a learning curve...so sometimes I want the simplicity of a regular touch pen, so I keep a nice one there.

Cons:

The back flap has no camera cut out for when it is folded open, so to use the rear camera, you must have the cover open and hanging. They would have needed to reinforce the area around the clasp to fix this, but I believe it would have been worth it.

In addition, when you use the second elastic strap to secure the cover during hand strap use, the elastic band covers the front camera.

It is well protected from corner drops on 3 of 4 corners. The necessary S-pen cutout leaves one corner unprotected, though to be fair, I really don't see any way around that.
