5Blackberry NAILED IT
By Baltazar Vasquez
The z10 is amazing, despite the lack of apps which are going to be filled to match iOS and Android within the year. I sideloaded many apps it lacked, Pandora, Instagram, and skype and it works so much better than my old iPhone5 I didn't know if i wanted to get rid of the iphone but honestly i was tired of the boring OS, the battery kept dying the first couple of days but finally i let it die completely and charged it and now it last me about 16 hours with moderate use the iphone usually at 30% by the 10th hour and dead by the 14th.

Pros:
silky smooth OS
The camera features are AMAZING
BBM IS BACK!!!!
the keyboard is amazing (although there is a learning curve once you get used to it you'll be typing faster than on any other device out there)
the device is smooth and has a nice grip on the back you can use it without the case and you don't get the fragile "it might slip" feeling like you do with iPhones it feels very durable (like most blackberry's)

Cons-
their are a few bugs but it is a new device so its to be expected (theres an update coming in march which should fix the most annoying ones
it wasn't free i wanted a free phone

conclusion-
Blackberry nailed it, i have many of my iphone friends waiting for it to launch here in the US so they can pick it up. I'm proud to say that i'm probably one of the first with it here in arizona :D

5Blackberry have nailed it
By Cuthbert
I have been using the Z10 for a month in UK. The phone is amazing. People carping about plastic case don't know what they are talking about. The chassis is solid stainless steel with black or white finish. I proved this wth a magnet. The BB10 QNX O/S is rock stable. No crashes so far. The browser is awesome. The keyboard is great too. As well as native apps, the phone also contains an Android run time environment which will be upgraded to the latest Android Jellybean version in due course. I can sideload android gingerbread apps at the moment like Kindle. Thousands of android apps have been ported to the phone already and many thousands more natively coded apps are available. This is unprecedented for such a new O/S. Screen resolution is amongst the best on the market. A common inbox(hub) for all incoming social and email comms is a great feature. GPS, Accelerometer and electronic compass work fine as does NFC. I have NFC tags stuck on my laptop to ring frequent numbers or instantly pull up key apps like the calendar. You can plug the phone into a TV or monitor hdmi port and connect a bluetooth keyboard and mouse. The phone will then outperform many laptops especially as it can handle MS Office files (Word, Excel, Powerpoint)and .pdf out of the box. Most phone functions can also be voice controlled.
Battery life is adequate but needs managing like turning off wifi and NFC if not being used and religiously charging each night. No Netflix app yet or Banking apps like Pingit but hopefully they will come. Be aware also that Amazon don't currently support MP3 downloads directly to the phone. Hope they fix that soon. My biggest concern is the leather Blackberry pouch I bought which features the sleep magnet. The phone is a very tight fit and I max out the volume control when I pull out the phone. I guess I can live with that. A recommended buy.

5Feature Rich and Amazing
By Bob
The Z10 is not withstanding the best cell phone that I have owned yet.

The apps that the Blackberry App Store has are relevant and high quality. On Apple's and Android's app store I find myself flooded with non-relevant selections and wasting my time shifting through trying to find what I am looking for. On Blackberry's App store I do not have this problem. Some may find the number of apps on the Blackberry App Store as discouraging while as I find it a blessing for that fact alone.

I am no longer an Android fan as their Operating Systems just seem to crash or freeze up more than anything else. No problems with this on the Z10.

To sum up the Pros:

*Long lasting battery
*Touch is responsive
*Interface super smooth
*Operations are fast
*Not to mention the superb sharpness and brightness of the Screen
*I am also a fan of the auto brightness functionality (the brightness of the screen auto adjusts to the light conditions).
*The keyboard is better by far than any other phone I have used to include the IPhone and Nexus 4.
*Not bombarded by irrelevant Apps
*BBM
*Security of the Blackberry OS
*The price of the Z10 is comparable to Android and IPhone
*Expandable memory

5Good battery
By jagsfangrandma
My galaxy 3s was having difficulty holding a charge and I was charging 2-3 times a day as within hours (without even using the phone) the battery was down from 100% to critical level. So bought this and works like a charm - just like when the phone was new.

1Not all of these are genuine
By Yu-jin Chia
First, there are a lot of fake/reject Samsung standard batteries out there. A lot of these can be weeded out by looking at price: if it's under $10 it's probably not genuine/new. I've gotten generic non-NFC spare batteries for that much, but that's a different story. I wanted some extra batteries with NFC support and decided to try my luck here.

I bought one of these from PacificCellularDistributor. It was from this same listing and only $2 cheaper than the current price, which is discounted from MSRP but is still reasonably (i.e. believably) close.

When I got the battery I noticed it didn't fit perfectly in my S3. On closer inspection I noticed the top edge cover of the plastic housing seemed to be jutting out a bit, and lifting it with a fingernail caused it to peel away. That struck me as a bit unusual, but I figured it might have just been knocked loose in shipping and it didn't seem to be that serious. I seated the battery and used it for a whole day.

It did seem to charge to 100% and had good run time- as good as the stock battery. I was thinking this was the genuine article, but then I decided to test NFC. My wife has a Galaxy Victory that has NFC/S-beam support, and I know it works with the original battery. I checked to make sure the feature was enabled, tried it... nothing happened. I swapped it out with the original and it worked. Changed it back, still didn't work.

This is when I realized that this battery is either refurbished or fake. The sticker on it does look genuine, and it does say Near Field Communication on it, but NFC is either broken or was not present to begin with. It's possible this was an OEM battery that was damaged/defective and refurbished, but if so it's not a good item. No manufacturer refurbishes these things, which means someone else did it- and you don't want to be using a Li ion battery that a random (possibly amateur) person fixed. Not only may its performance be affected, but it's actually a potential hazard: these things can catch on fire if tampered with.

On the bright side, I pointed this out to the seller and they promptly refunded it. However, I'm sure they knew this to begin with and only did this because I caught them. I'm sure they've gotten away with it at other times when people didn't have the means or inclination to test the unit thoroughly.

Bottom line: you're taking a chance with these Amazon marketplace sellers. I'm pretty convinced now that the only way to be sure these batteries are genuine is to buy direct from Samsung or an authorized retailer. You pay a few bucks more, but it's worth knowing they're definitely the real article and not going to damage your device. Though technically 'free' as a result of the refund, I'm very reluctant to use this one and will probably only do so in an emergency.

5True OEM - not a knock off
By nothappy01
Yep, this seems to be the real deal Samsung Galaxy S3 OEM battery, not a knock of like some of the other retailers here on Amazon are selling. Looks and acts exactly like my original.

5Great Call Quality and Saving Everyday
By Robert
Background: I was originally paying Verizon $20 a month for local calling only. There was significant static and the service was low for what I was paying. I switched to Comcast for $33 a month for VOIP service through their HFC network as part of a Triple Play. For this I received basic service and free unlimited U.S. calling. Although the service with Comcast was good, we found that the cost for a phone in the home was not a necessity since everyone now has cell phones. Since this was no longer a must have, I looked for something that was low cost but would still provide traditional land line service for the FAX, business calls, etc.

Research: I looked at several options, including cutting the cord completely. Vonage was pushing a lot of ads at the time, but to me the cost was still too high at $13 a month. Magic Jack was advertised on television, but it did not appear to be the right solution for the home since I wanted to hard-wire into my home phone network, and the Magic Jack required a computer to be on at all times. A friend recommended Ooma. He had a unit for several years and was happy, so I took a look at the service. I found that the service offering compared well to Comcast, and when the unit went on sale, I decided to give it a try.

Out of the Box: Everything was packaged neatly and the unit arrived in perfect condition. The instructions for set-up were clear and concise. The unit is similar in size to a wireless router, without the antennas of course.

Installation: The unit has an Ethernet pass-through that allowed the unit to be wired between the modem and my wireless router. Although Ooma considers this the optimal configuration, I did not like the set-up and used the sub-optimal set -up of connecting it to my routers Ethernet port as a stand-alone device. Comcast had been kind enough to disconnect my Verizon external connection for their installation, so I connected the twisted-pair phone connector with the Ooma so that I could have the Ooma supply phone service to all of the phone jacks in the house. (NOTE - This is easy to do if you are switching from a twisted pair external feed. Many websites describe how to do this and it is fairly easy). You then have to talk to the Ooma device on a computer with a IP address. This causes the Ooma to bring up an internal web server to set-up your service. The set-up was guided and required no technical expertise.

Phone Numbers: Although I live in a rural area outside a small city, I could select the area code I desired and found one that was local for my neighbors to call me. That said, I did like the idea that I could select an area code other than my own, such as the one near my parents. They also offer a phone number porting for a reasonable extra fee, a fee that is waived if you try their upgraded service for a year. Since cost was my driver, I decided to remain on the normal service with a number I chose from a short list of options. Another post expressed dissatisfaction with the area codes available, but this was not my experience.

Start-up: This was a little frustrating and the unit took some time to link with the service and download the updated firmware. At one point I thought it was not working. Patience will be the watch word for this part of the set-up. Normally I would deduct a star for this, but the overall cost and experience more than made up for this initial frustration. Once this was completed, the Ooma linked within a minute. Since installation, we have had power or internet failures that caused the phone system to restart. Normally it re-syncs within a minute or so of power returning. That said, on occasion, I have had to recycle power after a loss of internet service or power to force a sync. This has been rare, two to three times in two years, but it has occurred. To me this is a minor frustration and I again would normally take a star, or at least a half, but when I compare this the service and savings, I have to give them the star back.

Phone Service Quality: We are on a 20MBS down, 4MBS up service through the Cable Company. My children play online games and we stream a lot of movies from various services. In two years, we have never seen a loss in quality of the call and the sound and reception is as good as Verizon or Comcast, maybe even better. In fact, I am on a conference call on the Ooma for work as I am writing this on the web and my teenager is playing an online game on the PS4. The bandwidth for the voice call is a very small tax on your service and for me has been unnoticeable.

FAX: We do FAX over our Ooma line with a All-in-One Printer and have had no issues sending or receiving.

Features: I think the level of features you get for FREE are outstanding. The services are comparable to Comcast and I was surprised that you could get so much for, well, nothing but taxes.

911: Ooma provides for 911 service to your local police, fire, and medical based on the address you say the box is at.

Roll-over if service is out: Ooma rolls over the calls to our cell phones if the power or internet is out. Well thought through!

Cost: Free is not free, except here. Once you pay for the unit, you will only pay local taxes. This is not Ooma's fault, you can blame your local government. Actual cost for my service is $3 a month. For me, the pay off was in four months. Since then, the Ooma Telco is printing money for me instead of the Cable or Phone Companies!

Two Year Experience: As of April 2014, the box has performed well and I have had no quality issues or failures. I will update the post if it fails in the future, but my expectation is that I will get several more years of service from the Teleo. To date, I have saved over $600 (Yes, after subtracting the cost of the unit. Taxes were paid under both services, but that savings includes the $3 a month for taxes). If you have your Cable modem, you can avoid the $8 a month rent on that as well.

Summary: Yes, this is legitimate and yes it works. You will save money and get the same service as you get from the Telcos and Cable Companies. You will have to be patient on the set-up if your unit needs a firmware update and you might have to recycle power to the unit after a power outage if the resync to the service does not work (for the record, I had to the same thing with the Cable service as well, and a lot more times! So many times in fact that the power plug eventually wore out - but I digress). The features are excellent and you can't beat the cost. I have had the service two years, one month as of this post and I am very pleased that I did this.

Recommendation: I recommend this to friends on a regular basis. Many are worried about the VOIP, but once I explain to them it is the same they are getting from the Cable Companies or Verizon Fios, some of the concern drops away. Once it is up and working, they are very happy with the purchase.

5Wish I had met her sooner!
By Z. Wang
I finally got tired of AT&T, sitting in my closet year over year (for about 14 years now), doing nothing but collecting dust from the air and money from me. What upsets me even more is that AT&T has been gradually raising its price on basic monthly service and that finally rippled my psychological serenity. I mean, what does AT&T wants really?

Then I met ooma! What a sexy name to begin with. You invest in the initial hardware and start enjoying almost free phone services for the rest of your life (assuming the ooma hardware outlives us;-). The only monthly fees you pay are the following:

- regulator compliance fee
- E911
- Federal Universal Service Charge
- state and local taxes

Where I live, this comes out to be roughly four dollars monthly. And that is all you need to pay after getting this ooma telo hardware. All calls within US (and most provinces of Canada) are free. International calls are also available on much lower rates.

The features I enjoy the most so far:
- caller ID. AT&T would definitely want to charge you more than a few dollars for this simple service. You can even import your phone book information so that incoming calls will be identified with caller names, instead of phone numbers. (I did notice that sometimes though my caller ID does not display correctly. But I am working on that...)
- check your voice mails and call logs from anywhere there is a computer.
- take your ooma with you when you travel. So no matter where you are, you are local on the phone. Unless, of course you travel to a country where VOIP is not allowed on those private carriers.
- money saving!
- porting my # out of AT&T was a smooth process. Done in 5 days!

The only complaint that I have is that ooma does not come with wall-mounting hardware (not even wall-mounting ready). I had to visit home Depot and improvise one. I am proud of my creation! Please see photos as well.

So this is the latest version of ooma telo. I was told that internally it is known as "boyle". It sports a much simpler and cleaner front panel (and slightly sturdier packaging) than the previous version. I was also told feature-wise they are the same. Amazon has dropped its price on the previous version significantly and a lot of online merchants have yet to get the newer version. Look like there might be a deal somewhere to be had - for example, with price matching.

You should also know of course that you need Internet service to use this device. Fortunately almost everybody nowadays has Internet service one way or the other. If you are using cable service already, no problem. If you are still stuck with ATT DSL, you probably need to sort that out first (do people still pay extra for DSL if they don't need phone service?). I moved off AT&T DSL a couple of years ago and have been happy with cable.

So I am in love! Shouldn't you?

4Nice features
By Joan M Bauer
I really like the features on the ooma, block calls, do not disturb, voice mail, etc., but I am unhappy with delay in the conversation which causes one person to talk over the other person. It's quite annoying so not sure if I will keep it. Otherwise it is a very nice product.

4Panasonic 2-line phone
By LovesBBC
After using for just under 5 months, the phone still works well and as advertised. A good feature is that the portable handsets use standard rechargeable batteries instead of the costly battery packs required by most other phones. Contrary to some raters, the range is also excellent, and I frequently use the phone outside of the house. The only downside found so far is that some of the buttons are not only tiny but are difficult to push, especially for elderly users. With larger and easier to push buttons, I would have rated this phone with 5 stars.

4Solid Phone System With Great Range
By Charlie
We've owned the predecessor to this unit, Panasonic KX-TG6700 (2 line unit) for the last 5 years, and it still works well, but decided to upgrade the new version of the same system. We really were looking for better range, and after replacing the batteries a number of times (@ $30 a pop) it was time for a change. I'm always looking at the MTBF on any components and wanted to replace it because of that also.

Out of the box, the unit installation and setup was a breeze and the base unit was up and working in a few minutes. The cordless phones needed to be charged for 7 hours and were already registered with the base. We spent about 60 minutes getting used to all the new options, putting in all the phone book entries, setting the answering machine greeting messages and it was easy to do. The entire system performs very well and we are very happy with the purchase. We rarely had to look into the manual for help.

Here is what we liked:

The range of the cordless handsets is AMAZING, they were very clear at about 100-150 feet (outside) from the base unit. Also the "dead spots" in the house (3 stories) were totally gone. It had about twice the range of the old phones, big plus for us.

Battery life has improved considerably; we can use the phones all day, and still have lots of battery life left. The specs say you can talk for 12 hours on a single charge, I believe it.

The base unit has a large LCD screen for putting in your phone book, and other settings. Once you put in all your phone book entries, you can easily send them to all the cordless handsets.

Speaker phone works very well, clear with lots of volume.

The answering system will tell you what line the call came in on. I do not have to go through all the messages to see which ones are personal and business. I can just go to Line 2 messages, and get the business calls, and my wife can go to Line 1 messages to get all the personal messages. Like It.

The cordless handsets have 6 icons that are displayed when you press the Menu button. This helps in navigating through all the options.

What we did not like:

On the cordless handsets, the Talk and Off buttons are very small, much smaller than the number buttons. For buttons you use on every call, they should be bigger.

On the cordless handsets, the Talk and Off buttons should be backlit, when you are in a dark environment, you cannot find the button to hang up the phone or start a call.

When you create Groups (Friends, Family, Work...) for your phone book entries on the base unit they do not get sent to the cordless handsets. So when you take the time to organize all your contacts into Groups and send them to the cordless handsets, they all end up in the generic Group 1. Then you have to create new groups and move them around again, what a pain.

The ring tones you can select on the base unit are not the same as the cordless handsets, this is crazy. When a call is coming in, the base unit has one ring tone, and if the cordless handsets are near the base unit, they have a different ring tone and you have all of them ringing at a different tone simultaneously. It's very annoying.

When setting options on the base unit, there are screens you navigate to that you cannot get out of (no Back Button). You end up hitting Stop button on the phone itself to get out of that display. There should always be a Back Button.

There is an icon on both systems for "Help", when you click on it, it says to go to panasonic.com for support. Don't waste my screen space.

The cordless handsets are a little smaller than the previous ones and the plastic case is very smooth and harder to hang on to. I've dropped the old ones a number of times (still work), I hope these are as durable.

3Mediocre at best
By Craig
I find this system to be mediocre at best. I had an older Panasonic semi-pro analog system (KX-TG4000B 4-line) that I wanted to replace to get the DECT 6.0 digital system, because we get interference on the old analog system. This system does indeed eliminate that interference, however in many ways it is inferior to that old system. Here are some of the primary downsides to this system (not in any particular order):

(1) If you want to turn off one of the lines so that it doesn't ring (like at night), you have to do it individually from every handset. There's no blanket turn-off from the base unit. (There is a "night" feature that lets you do an automatic scheduled turn off at a set time, but that's no good unless you go to bed and wake up at the exact same time every day.)

(2) The sound quality is free from interference, but the volume is low and the audio frequency range is not very good, on both the handsets and the base unit. Callers on the other side have complained that our volume is a little low.

(3) It has different ring tones you can select, which is great, but the set of ring tones is different for the handsets than from the base unit. So you can't have a consistent set of ring tones for each line between the base and the handsets.

(4) The speakerphone on the base unit is of poor quality. It is not loud enough. Also, when you mute it still cuts out when the other side goes somewhat quiet. If your side is muted, it should never cut off the other side. Because of these two problems, it can be difficult to hear the other side if they are not particularly loud.

(5) The volume settings are not granular enough. There are only 5 volume settings, and usually setting 2 is too low but setting 3 is too loud and distorts.

(6) No battery backup on the base unit. Seems like it wouldn't be much to include a few batteries in the base unit. I solved this by connecting it to a UPS.

(7) The quality (audio frequency response) of the recorded outgoing message is not very good.

It is not bad enough that I would return it, it is useable. But it is disappointing, especially compared to the old semi-pro system we used to have.

5Excellent Cellphone.(Update 19/06/2013)
By ectoBiologist
This is my first time Buying a cellphone on amazon. Because of that, i spent a lot of time doing research about this model BEFORE buying.

First impressions of the phone made me very happy. Its very thin and sleek. Has a very good grip but just in case, buy a TPU cover for it.

The screen is amazing! It has Properties pertaining High-end Cellphones like gorilla glass and such. Sturdy and scratch resistant, It makes it a very good screen.

Opening the Back case is a little messy hehe but nothing to worry about. Inside the battery case you will see that this phone supports micro SD cards, up to 32 GB if my memory serves me well.

Another thing you will see is that it Uses a standard sized SIM CARD, so no worries there unless you have a micro SIM CARD. In the same area you will notice that this phone LACKS NFC CAPABILITIES . Although this was one of the reasons i bought it, it is still a superb phone so no problems there. The reason for the lack of NFC is that this phone is an asian version, thus the model number 705. The P700 however , has NFC capabilities .

It has a 5 megapixels Camera on the back too. My test Photos are very good. Of course Remember that this is NOT a camera, it is a phone.

This phone has a CPU processor of 1GHZ and aside of that, a GPU of 200 MHz so its not dual core but it plays games , videos and music with a very good performance. It also has 2.72 GB of internal storage. It says 4 in the description but it doesn't account for the OS so , that's it. Ram is 512 MB which is also very good and decent for a phone.

Ok going For the front side of the phone you will see a notification led, and a light sensor . These two work as intended. At their side you will see a 1.2 megapixels camera, Ideal for Skype and Video Calls because it wont need to transmit a lot of high resolution video data.

You will see 3 buttons. The psychical one its the home button , very simple and elegant. the other two buttons are soft touch so they only light up when you touch the center one or if you are using the phone.

On the Software side, It has Android 4.0 with an upcoming update from LG this year (2013). Android Runs very fast in this phone . Has a very good Integration with the hardware at disposal. Applications can be and will be installed in this phone .
Live wallpaper runs smoothly. Wireless is excellent, because it recognizes 2,4 and 5 GHZ wi-fi networks. GPS it's very exact although i do believe you will need a wireless connection for it to work. Need to test it and i'll update the review then .

Another thing. This phone Being an Asian version comes with Chinese as the default language set. you will need to change it and it will promptly show at power up a message , you should choose the left option and it will prompt a language list. Sorry latin american folks but it has no Spanish/Español so use english or whatevs.

Another thing worth of notice. This phone will work In VENEZUELA, But only with two operators, Movilnet and Movistar. I'm not sure if Digitel Works but you should check the Frequency Range of this or any phone first before buying as common sense

Overall this phone is a excellent choice . I give it 9/10 points. Pretty, fast and spectacular. The Seller, Hasslefreecell Sent with the phone a charger adapter. It wasn't necessary but it was very thoughtful of them .

One thing You must remember, This is no Samsung S3/S2 Phone, nor an Iphone, Not a tablet. But it will prove reliable with office applications and such .

Have a nice day.

Thanks for reading this.

Update 10-03-2013:

This is Something I Promised So here it is.

I was trying the GPS and yes, it do works without Data plans or wireless connection.

The thing is it is not bulls eye precision, so you will have to adapt to it hehe.

Of course if you are on the outside with the GPS on, Wifi on/data plan on , Then you will get more accurate measures.

The other Thing i found out is this.

A lot of users here are asking/complaining about the lack of 3G/EDGE/GPRS/ETC data frequencies.

Well the solution to this is that one must set the APN settings for the carrier of your choice so if you are in Venezuela or other country, then try to contact your carrier about this, or look it up on the web :3, that's what i did and it worked, so that is my advice to you.

Well that is mostly what i found out in this time. Phone still is rocking out, battery lasting almost 3 days with moderate use, hard as hell to scratch the screen, you get the idea. One word of advice:

If you have trouble picking wi-fi signal with this cellphone , barring some exceptional circumstances, it's not probably your cellphone, It is the router.

I ran into some trouble with an old router so if you have this kind of trouble, you might want to change it.

That is all.

Thanks again for reading this.

Update 02/04/2013

Well, LG never ceases to amaze me .

This update is about the OS Software Update (*Snort*) That LG released this year 2013. This means that Now everyone has Android 4.1.2 JellyBeans Installed on your shiny LG P705. Now you all might be asking, What does this means for our cellphone? Well I'll try to point the most relevant points about this OS upgrade.

All the Native applications have been revamped. They look really good and now they all have a biggest array of options.

The user interface has been improved too. Now you can select the brightness of the phone, switch on/off your data plan, turn on/off power saver, turn on/off wifi hotspot, turn on/off airplane mode and turn on / off screen rotation without entering the system menu.

The System fonts are now bolder so you can see everything better. This i like because it uses the screen at it's full.

Be prepared. When you Update, all the Native apps the cellphone had (the chinese ones. I removed those at buying) Are going to install again. So get ready to uninstall most of them.

Videos Look better than ever. I suppose they upgraded the codecs or something. Sound keeps being excellent.

With AnTuTu Benchmark , before the update i got 3360 points. Now it has 4245. So now it goes faster hehe.

The update comes with Google Now, which seems to be a great app as far I've tested. Good design and excellent usability.

One Warning with Firefox explorer. If you try to update it and you get an error about data package, Uninstall it and then install it.

Now, About how to update. You might try to Update it OTA but it might prompt a message about needing LG PC SUITE to update. So you should get LG PC SUITE as soon as possible from Lg official web. After install and cellphone connection, it will prompt you a message about the update. Be sure to connect your phone over USB CABLE, because for some weird reason, Wi-Fi would not work. (maybe because wifi might be unstable for a update???). Anyway the update process shouldn't take too long.Unless you choose to do a backup. I did it and it just took 20 min longer so it's up to you to back up (pro tip: do the backup).

Well, that's all, Mostly. Ill test the phone more thoroughly to see what else changed.

Rest assured that your phone will keep being an excellent phone. Only Better.

Thanks for reading the update :3

End Update 02/04/2013

Update 26/05/2013

Hello all, this is a new update for this cellphone review. This update is about a software upgrade that came out this day for me. It was signed with may 5 date and had 2,22 MB of data downloaded. It downloaded fast and updated faster. I haven't noted any changes in the phone's software, but it is a little faster.

This update is probably a response to some screw up from google that is now flipping out with the location access of a lot of apps.Let's hope this works out for us .

About the phone, it is still working fine. It has so much gumption that it is basically insane, and it is still rocking out.

Bye, i'll update as needed.

End Update 26/05/2013

Update 16/06/2013

New Update: The phone Had a major OS update this 16/6/2013. As the update said, 52 apps were updated, this seems about the internet app, saying that it has been revamped to have more speed when you navigate. I could not read all the update message but i have noticed a bit of speed navigation increase in the phone.

The update downloaded 15 mb of data Aprox. I haven't seen any major changes in the phone, except some cosmetic ones and a little increase in the software speed.

The test with Antutu Benchmark actually dropped the score to 3186,tho i think it was because i have a lot less memory available now but who cares hehe.

In all everything is well. Points To LG for having such a good support service, even overseas.

The phone still is keeping up as a mobile gadget, so i can still suggest it as a good item.

Bye all ,have a nice day.

End Update 16/06/2013

Its internal memory it's so big that i can download movies, i can record videos and still have enough memory for games or applications.
It has lots of themes, lockers, widgets..

5Pleasantly suprised
By T. McCoy
I've had about 2 months to play around with the phone and am very pleased so far. I owned a HTC Inspire for 2 years before purchasing this so my battery and performance expectations were already pretty achievable. The phone arrived fairly quickly and came with a male micro-usb to male usb cable, an AC to female usb wall adapter and all the manuals. After the first initial charge I plugged in my SIM card and turned it on. I'm currently on a Family Mobile cell plan and works just fine after a few setting changes. Search for Family Mobile APN settings and it will show you how to configure your phone.

Hardware:
The phone is very sleek. I bought the white model and get compliments on how nice the phone looks frequently. At first I was surprised at how light it was but now the weight seems very natural. Some people dislike lighter phones because they don't feel as sturdy but it personally doesn't bother me. The back cover has a bit of a flimsy feel to it, but unless you're swapping out SIMs, MicroSDs or batteries frequently you won't notice it that much. The physical home button, the volume rocker and the tactile back and menu buttons are all sturdy and responsive. The screen lock button on the top right of the phone seems too recessed into the phone for my liking, but i'm sure it helps with not accidentally unlocking your screen. The AUX jack on the top left of the phone gives a snug fit and makes good contact with the male end of the cord.

Software:
To start out, I absolutely love Ice Cream Sandwich. It combines aesthetically pleasing menus with tons of features. One of my main concerns with buying this phone was everyone's complaint about the single core processor. My old HTC Inspire was also a single core processor phone so maybe that's why I don't notice it that much but i've yet to experience any sort of significant lag. This being said, I also compulsively hold the home button down and close any applications i'm done using so it doesn't eat up my process allowance and battery. I'm sure if you were to leave tons of apps running in the background or if you game on your phone it might under perform for you. Video watching on this phone is very enjoyable as well. Whether it be internet streaming or a local file the picture quality is quite impressive. Playing a Blueray quality video file on the phones stock video app plays without lag or buffering which is a huge plus. Screen brightness ranges from very bright to almost off but lacks an auto brightness feature. Rooting was fairly easy once I found the right software. I could not SuperOneClick it but the LG flash tool worked fine. The camera takes decent quality pictures, but the flash is weak. This is a main weak point for me because I like to use my phone as a flashlight, but now I can't.

Battery Life:
This was the main feature that drew me to the phone. The battery life on the HTC Inspire is HORRIBLE so I wanted to make sure not to make the same mistake twice. Average life seems to be around 12 hours with medium use for me. Juicedefender helps quite a bit, but I also have screen brightness set to 60% (which is pretty bright). I mostly only text, browse the web, and make the occasional phone call so I think 12 hours is pretty reasonable. On the HTC Inspire I would have got 3 hours, so no complaints here. The one thing i've found to REALLY kill the battery is streaming movies and music on your mobile network. When you're connected to Wifi it's not as noticeable, which I almost always am, but for some reason mobile internet drains it. Light to no use and I think the battery would last well over 24 if not 36 hours.

Overall I'm still in love with this phone, especially for the price. For someone who is not on a contract (which I am not) ICS + good battery life + factory unlock + sleek design + under $200 = an awesome phone.

TLDR

Pros:
Interchangable long life battery
Ice Cream Sandwich
Attractive
Light
Cheap

Cons:
Low intensity flash
Could be sluggish for some users
Awkward screen off button

5Lives up to usual Plantronics Quality
By Steve28804
I received apparently one of the first Plantronics CT14 cordless headset telephones, and the bottom line is that there are no big surprises, which means I like the telephone given that I had high expectations in view of my previous experience with Plantronics quality. I did not have either of the previous models, CT12 or CT10, so I cannot compare to those. However at my office for a number of years I have been using a CS10 cordless headset system which works with a multi-line telephone, and I have become quite addicted to using a headset. Based on what I think is an objective test, the audio quality and volume of the CT14 are superb. The way I test that is to call my own voicemail and, during the same call, switch between various telephones while leaving a message. Then I listen to the recorded message, again switching among various telephones. That lets me hear the quality for myself, without relying on a person I am talking to for a report.

One characteristic I am pleased to see included is that it is possible to chain dial from recorded numbers in the "phonebook." Thus, when I use a calling card with a 1-800 access number I can then access the PIN in the phonebook to have that dialed as well, followed by the number of the person I am calling. With some other telephones, after you have used the "phonebook" and the call is in progress, the directory scrolling keys change to a different function (e.g. volume) and all the remaining numbers must be dialed by hand.

A negative thing I have to say about the CT14 is that there is a higher level of background noise than I am accustomed to, which I suspect (but do not know for sure) is an inherent part of the DECT 6.0 technology which uses a single frequency band for both sides of the conversation, and uses time division duplex. So, digitally, a lot is going on behind the scenes, and I think I am hearing digital artifacts. This is mitigated somewhat because there is ample volume. So the volume can be turned down, which reduces the background noise, while still being able to hear the person on the other side. At some point I may compare to another DECT 6.0 telephone, or attempt to see what Plantronics has on this issue. (Update: I called Plantronics and a very pleasant rep assured me that the background noise I am hearing is not normal. The background should be quiet. He gave me an RMA number to send back the telephone for a replacement, but before I do that I am going to try the telephone someplace else. It is possible there is some sort of electrical interference unique to my house. Now that I finally have this telephone, I am very reluctant to part with it for any length of time. I really like it.)

Earlier complaints regarding the predecessor CT12 concerned interference with Wi-Fi networks, and it seems clear that is not a problem with the CT14. The CT14 operates on a different frequency band (1920-1930 MHz versus 2400-2500 MHz), and that is an advertised feature of the CT14.

Update December 4, 2011: After 2-1/2 years the CT14 remains my favorite telephone, although I am currently doing without it due to a second failure of the headset cord, and am waiting for a possible replacement from Panasonic. Thus the cord on the headset is definitely a weak link in this design where, with flexing eventually either the person at the other end can't hear you, or you can't hear the other person. This happens even though I am careful, and something I do not experience with my CS10 at the office, which is still going strong after perhaps 7 to 10 years, despite being a discontinued model, and despite being used much more than my CT14 at home. My point is that Panasonic evidently has taken shortcuts with the design of the headset cord for the CT14 compared to the CS10. The headset itself sounds very good, up until the time the cord fails. (At least one time I was able to get a replacement headset directly from Panasonic through a cumbersome process on their website for less than a "Spare M170 Headset CT14" from amazon.com; currently waiting to see price and availability now that my first replacement has failed, like the original.)

Regarding the background noise issue, that has never been resolved. The replacement telephone Plantronics sent had exactly the same problem, and my last letter to them (in June of 2009) has apparently been ignored. Until I am convinced otherwise, I will assume the background noise is a design issue, and something that a person just has to live with.

4A STEP BACKWARD FOR PLANTRONICS
By Nor'easter
The CT14 Plantronics Cordless Headset Phone is the new version of the Plantronics CT12 which I have happily used for the last six years. I expected that the CT14 would be an all around improved cordless headset phone with more features and even better sound quality than the CT12. The CT14 does indeed have more features but my experience with the new CT14 is that its predecessor- the CT12- was on the whole, a better headset phone with better sound quality. This was very surprising and disappointing for me.

Plantronics has made an excellent name for itself in the cordless headset phone market with innovative products and customer service/technical support which is second to none in my opinion. Unfortunately, the Plantronics CT14 disappointed me in the two most important areas- sound quality and the comfort of the headset.

Even though Plantronics CT14 uses a DECT 6.0 system which is supposed to block out audio interferences, I found the phone to have a constant, low level background noise with intermittent snaps and crackles. I would rate the CT14's sound quality as mediocre. By comparison, the older CT12 is has superior sound quality with interference present only when I was near a microwave that was on.

The headset supplied with the CT14 can be used in two ways- over the ear and over the head. I initially tried using the over the ear configuration. Quite frankly, I couldn't stand it. It hung off my ear in an extremely loose fashion with the microphone coming to rest under my chin and the headset just flopped around. I then switched configurations to "over the head" with an attached band which sits on top of the head- this is how I have used the CT12 for six years. Although the CT14 over the head configuration is very stable I was very disappointed to find that it is so tight that my ear begins to hurt after about thirty minutes. In comparison, I can use my old Plantronics CT12 over the head apparatus for many hours with no discomfort at all. Maybe the CT14's over the head headset needs breaking in and will loosen up with time, but I doubt this. No break in period was necessary for the CT12. I have taken the headset from my old CT12 and put it on the CT14. That solved the comfort issue but it doesn't speak very well for this product.

In conclusion, the CT14 seems to be a step backward from its predecessor, the CT12. However, for someone who has no experience with the previous model- the CT12- the CT14 would probably get a higher rating than I am giving it. Sound quality is very subjective and others may find the CT14's sound quality to be just fine. My problem is that I have a previous Plantronics cordless headset phone to compare the sound to, thus the criticism. ThePlantronics CT14 does have a much improved and wonderful variety of features and it is just so liberating to have a cordless handset phone. Since beginning use with the CT12 in 2003, I have often said to those with conventional phones that once you experience a hands free cordless telephone in your home, there is no going back to a regular phone where you have to use your hands (or worse yet, your shoulder) to hold the phone. I can talk on the CT14 while working with my computer and I can walk around my home with no restrictions while not straining my neck or hands. It is definitely an addictive experience. Also on a positive note, the CT14 has excellent battery life, a terrific manual, the telephone unit is small and very portable (you can slip it in your pocket or use the attached belt clip) and overall it is very easy to use. Even though I'm disappointed in some ways with the CT14, I would still purchase another Plantronics cordless headset phone in the future as I do believe Plantronics is the best brand on the market.

1Great disappointment after the CT12
By Erniesma
I got a CT12 (unless it was a CT10) back in 2000. I loved it: it saved my neck from the pain associated with tilting my neck to hold a phone between my shoulder and my ear. The sound quality was great. The phone worked whether docked in its charger or while roaming the house. The sound quality was exceptional. the only problem I ever had with it was that I dropped it all the time and finally, after years of abuse, I killed it. (In fact, I had two of these phones between 2000 and 2010, when I finally decided I couldn't squeeze anymore life out of the second one, also a victim of falls.) Compared to the older models, this CT14 is a terrible disappointment. I'm using it in the same location, yet now there is a constant irritating sound in the background. And it cannot be used while docked in the charger. May not sound like a big issue. But to answer these phones, one has to get the headset on, then press the talk button before the call goes to voicemail. With the old model, those were the only steps. With the CT14, there is a 3rd step -- pull the phone out of the charger, get the headset on, then press talk. It's not so easy to do that quickly, especially when the headset plug can pull out of the phone quite easily. Also, if you're using the phone and inadvertently put it back in the charger because you're using it while sitting at the desk where the charger is, the phone disconnects the call. If it does this because of some danger of the phone blowing up or giving me cancer while in use and in the charger, I'd be interested to know. Otherwise, it just seems like a design flaw. My rating of this phone is particularly low because I loved the older model so much. It was a revalation. This one is terrible by comparison. (If you never had the older version, this one might not frustrate you as much as it does me. But really, I am not okay with the terrible sound quality.)

5Great Value!!!
By Andrew Arnold
This is the first Bluetooth headset I've owned. It's a no name brand from China so I didn't expect much. The instructions included are fairly useless, but I really had no trouble with the set up. I'm no audiophile so I can't speak to the quality of the sound because I use it when I'm walking for audiobooks, plus I've got a little bit of a tin ear. But it sounds clean and clear to me- no interference at all. When I got it, I was on my way for a walk, so I figured I'd try it out right away- no charging first. It lasted through the whole half hour walk. When I got home I charged it, and within a half hour it completed the charge. (I don't know how long the charge will last, if need be I'll update the review). As the title suggests, it's a great value- you'll pay this much for a regular set of wired headphones (Which I hate like Wile E. Coyote hates the Road Runner). So I'm very happy with the purchase.

BATTERY CHARGE UPDATE- I use these headphones for about 30 minutes every day and the charge lasted about 2 weeks before it needed a recharge. When the battery is low, you'll begin hearing 4 quick beeps every 15 seconds and then after a few minutes, it will shut off. Also, I forgot to mention that I'm a 'big and tall' guy so the back of my neck looks like a package of hot dogs, and I would describe the fit of the headset as snug. It's not too tight but almost, so if you're not a Heavy Chevy like me, they will probably fit perfectly comfortably.

4First impression was disappointment, once I got it working, I am happy.
By msn yin yang
Received the headset and was eager to try it out. Looks sharp with the red and black styling. First fit was good for my small neck and ear buds sat comfortably in my ear. The red plastic covering the back of the neck was loose on one side. Tried to push it back but it did not stay. It wasn't a snap joi nt but it needed to be glued in place. No big deal. Will do that if I decide to keep it.

Unfortunately I will have to wait for some instructions before I can review the sound quality and pairing capabilities. I could not truth this unit on. There is one pin hole marked with on/off below it. Tried the usual paper clip method but can't feel any clicks and given the fragility of the product, I dare not pushed too hard. Waiting for others to comment on how to turn this unit on and off. If unable to do that, it is going back.

Update:
Vendor replied with options to return or replace it but I got it figured out and now testing the unit before final decision.

Do not stick anything into the pin hole. It is not a switch but the LED. What's mark as on/off is really the status led.

The instruction in the back of the packaging refers to a Bluetooth key, that's the play button or the center button. Hold that for about 5s to turn it on. This is also the talk and hang up button.

To pair, press the play button and hold it until it alternates between blue and red for paring, this can only be done from the off state.

To turn it off, Press the play button until you see it flash red. Let go of the play button.

To turn it on, press he play button until you see a blue light, let go of the button.

To answer or hang up, press the play button.

5Best Android Phone Ever
By Kjack
This phone is great but I am pretty upset ... Why? Because I will never be able to use a smaller screen again. Just kidding but I bought this from Amazon because I got bored with my iPhone 4s. I've been with iPhone since 2007 and me leaving for Android was something I was real hesitant to do, but that big screen was tempting, I decided to do it and don't regret it one bit. Even though the unlocked Note has a faster processor, this phone is still super fast and has blazing fast LTE. My only concern was the battery life and I am even happy with that. I can go a full day and some on a single charge. Of course I rooted the phone and added a custom rom so I expected this (custom roms are more battery friendly then stock Android). When I was on stock I could still make it most of the day with moderate-heavy usage (By heavy I mean internet, twitter, instagram, messaging, music, it was just non stop usage). The camera is great, photos look amazing even in low lighting, and the screen is like an HD television. You can even buy a bluetooth keyboard and and hook up a mouse to use this thing like a computer! The S pen is a great feature even though I don't use it much. The only real complaint I have is how long it takes to charge which is around 3 hours, I mean you have to expect it because the battery is HUGE (2500mAh) so yeah it takes awhile to charge. After the first few battery cycles however charging time will improve. Anyway the phone itself is just a beautiful sight to look at, I get compliments everywhere I go like "Whoa look at the size of that thing!" no but seriously everyone is shocked at the size and then they instantly love it. In all honesty I was a bit nervous when I first received it because it really is a big phone, but after a week I viewed it as a normal size phone and everyone elses as too small (seriously I can't go any smaller now), and I would even considered going bigger. I can't wait for the Galaxy Note 2 which is rumored to arrive in December. Honestly if you don't care about 4G LTE (because that's the AT&T Note's specialty) then I would get the unlocked Galaxy Note N7000 it has a faster processor and better battery life. Both are great phones however, and I wouldn't trade this thing for any other phone not even the new Samsung Galaxy S III. It's the best Android phone ever!

5Works on Tmobile T-Mobile T Mobile
By Fausto Fondeur
I just want to add that this phone is unlocked and works on T-Mobile prepaid plan.
I'm getting 4G LTE, on NJ.

Also,
To update to Jelly Bean 4.1.2, just install Samsung Kies, it's a free app from Samsung.
Connect the phone, and after connecting to it, it will request to update.

I personally recommend that after an update you do a factory reset to delete anything left from the previous 2.3 android system.
Phone worked so much smother after doing a factory reset, as recommended by Samsung support (found it online on a forum).

Finally, all the ATT apps can be disabled.
Just go to Setting -> Application Manager -> ALL (you need to swipe right to get here) -> click on the APP, instead of having a uninstall option, you will be able to disable them.

That's it!
Hope it helps someone, as for me it was a trial, I couldn't really find simple answer on the internet.

I didn't load any modem driver, rooted, etc.
This is unrooted and stock.

5Perfect for me!!
By Fadkar
let me begin by saying that this phone isn't for everyone. Don't be scared off due to its large size because if you use your phone as a multimedia device for watching videos, reading articles, reading books, playing games, sending emails, etc. then this is the phone for you! if you use a phone STRICTLY as a phone for calling and texting then perhaps a smaller phone is better.
The fact is that there are tradeoffs with every decision. getting this big of a phone has a tradeoff of portability and a little convenience. it still does fit in my skinny jeans, however this is more of a two-handed phone. and thats perfectly fine for me because i believe that its worth using 2 hands if i get to enjoy a screen so beautiful and large!
although large, its very slim, and smooth. i love it.

pros:
-the screen is very beautiful and large
-resolution of 800x1280
-Super Amoled HD screen means that colors are gorgeous, vibrant, and saturated!
-slim! so it still fits in my pockets!
-Very smooth performance

cons:
-uses a pentile matrix...this really isn't an issue unless you plan to view your phone from a 170 degree angle. there is no discoloration unless your looking at the screen completely from the side with you eyes level with the screen.
-for some reason, there is a discolored patch when taking up close pictures of white objects. I'm not sure why but this isn't an issue when there is adequate lighting and if the object of the picture is further than 2 feet away.

overall: an amazing phone! i would definitely recommend!

5Highly Recommended!
By Wandrwoman
This Panasonic single line cordless phone system is by far the best I've owned. A surprising number of thoughtful, easy to use features are packed into a relatively small (5 3/4" x 5 1/4") footprint.

Created perhaps with aging Baby Boomers in mind, emphasis has been given to clarity of sound, legibility, and ease of use. This is not an old person's phone, nor a phone for the hearing impared; it's a product that anyone would appreciate. After all, what is the point of caller ID if the LCD screen is impossible to read? Or what is the point of advanced cordless technology if the sound quality is poor? Or what is the point of multiple advanced features if they require 10 easily forgotten steps to be accessed?

Things you should know about this system:
1) It is Dect 6.0 Plus which is new technology.
2) It is expandable with up to 5 more optional (ie. you have to purchase) handsets, or 6 total
3) It comes with a wall mounting adapter.
4) It requires 2 AAA NiMH rechargeable batteries (included)
5) There are speaker phones on the handset and on the base.
6) There is an 18 minute digital answering system that is accessible from both the handset and the base
7) There is "Talking Caller ID" which recites out loud the number and sometimes the name of the caller. This is a useful feature if you are eating dinner or not near the phone when a call comes in. It can be turned off if desired.
8) A 50 number phone book is shared between the handset and the base. Numbers are easily added (with the "1") via caller ID.
9) The phone can be programmed to block unwanted calls.
10) The handset has a dedicated volume key as well as an equalizer button which allows for a customized sound range.
11) Panasonic offers an optional range extender (KX-TGA405) which claims to double the transmission range of this phone.

This is a phone system that is easy to use, has excellent range, excellent sound clarity, useful features and is perfect in size to sit on a bed side table or hang on a kitchen wall.

5Can you hear me now?
By Sam Silver
I don't have vision or hearing problems nor does anyone in my household. We just sometimes keep a lot of noise so we needed a LOUD cordless speaker phone for conference calls @ work and with relatives. This phone takes things back to where they were in the late 90s when you could actually turn the volume up and notice the difference on speaker. Prior to this purchase early this year, I bought the corded/cordless panasonic DECT cousin with no talking caller id announcement and I am prepared to either donate or trash it. Decided to give Panasonic one l more try and found what I needed. LOUD speaker and caller id announcement.

4cordless phone review
By Amazon Customer
I don't normally write reviews but I use them ALL the time for purchases. So here is my pennies worth. I was looking for a cordless phone for my mom (she is 70). This phone was easy to program and set up. The display and buttons are easily seen and phone is easy to use. My mom is technology challenged so ease of use is important. She has had the phone for 2 months now and battery is great and she says it's easy to use. The only thing I have to say is the phone started to get a film on the screen (maybe from make up or lotion) so I had to clean it. I used car wax to help protect it and it made it easier to clean. Overall the phone is great so far. Hope this helped happy shopping.

5Fantastic phone set and feature set
By DIY Man!
I am more please with this phone set that I can say. The speaker phone works great and the range is awesome. I wanted this set because of the intercom feature and it turns out the range is so good that I can keep a handset way out in my shop and my wife and I use the intercom system to communicate so we don't have to use our cell phone if we need to ask each other a question. And, in my shop, the sound quality is as good as it is in the house. The other great feature I was not expecting is the ability to retrieve messages from any handset so I do not have to go to the recorder to check for and retrieve a message. I can just sit there and play and or delete messages from where ever I am at.

I cannot think of a negative thing to say!

3Nice phones but bad battery life.
By Val
These are nice looking phones. They also have great sound quality and the speakerphone is loud. Two things I find bad are 1) If you leave a phone off the charger for a day, it dies completely. Every single one of them, the battery is cheap. 2) You cannot name each phone. With our old ones we could input text like kitchen, bedroom, office. No doing that with these. I wish I would have not purchased these phones. Mostly due to the poor battery life.

If a phone conversation last for more than 15 minutes, the volume decreases dramatically. Switching to another phone gives another 15 minutes. My last phone, also V-tech had 3 aa cells. This one is 2 AAA and it makes a difference.Vtech CS6229-4 DECT 6.0 Cordless Phone, Black/White, 4 Handsets

5Quality Phone
By Kristin Brown
This phone is a good quality phone. When on speaker, typically during conference calls, the sound is crystal clear. And the people on the other end have no trouble at all distinguishing your words. I also purchased the 2 additional mics which compliment quite well. If you plan on getting the mics, make sure you get the expandable version of this Polycom SoundStation2. There are many versions that are similar to this one, and it's easy to get them confused. I definitely recommend this phone!

5High expectations met
By G. Carver
These phones are the standard in corporate America. I purchased one of these for our small startups first office. It's as good as I remember them being. Clarity are noise cancellation are exceptional, in spite of the echo in our war-room. Also bought 2 extension mic's which accommodates our 8+ folks easily.

It's also worth noting we don't actually have any telco-phone lines, and instead use this device as a mic & speaker combo for VOIP (skype, gotomeeting, web-ex). There's a cable that lets you connect to an analog sound card in your computer. The cable is listed separately, (but seemingly unavailable anywhere!) but it turns out not to matter... the new-in-box SS2 comes with the cable for free...

5Polycom SS2 works beautifully
By W. Stimpson
We purchased product for board meetings involving 15 persons, several of whom call in from remote locations.

The sound quality on receiving in the room was excellent, and the volume was as loud as we needed. Apparently the microphones were also excellent, because those calling in had no difficulty hearing comments from any part of the room.

5Bluetooth Gateway Telephone
By VA Duck
This telephone is identified as a "Landline Telephone" in the Amazon description. Fortunately, the phone does NOT require the landline connection to work as a cell-phone router, in fact there is a "Cellular Line Only" mode to customize system functionality to cell-phones, otherwise the display will remind you to "Check Tel Line" while the land line port is unused.

The phone accepts Bluetooth connection from most cell phones. Panasonic details the compatible phones (most all) in a table at their site titled (search Panasonic web for...) "Cellular Connection List for Panasonic Products". Once registered via Bluetooth, all of the Panasonic handsets call-out and receive calls wirelessly through the base unit, as though it was a landline phone. It is however a SINGLE line phone - i.e. in or out from any one of its three ports: a) cellphone #1 or, b) cellphone #2 or, c) landline, but ONE call at a time. The phone's 1.9GHz frequency will not interfere with the 2.4GHz frequency typical of routers, home security systems, and other computer wireless devices.

As for performance - very impressive! The handsets are a bit larger than our replaced 12-year old Panasonic phone system, but better designed with a very readable black on bright-white display and larger buttons to reduce dialing mistakes. The newer technology NiMH (nickel-metal hydride) batteries no longer have the old-style proprietary shape, instead they are conventional AAA size, and so could be easily replaced if they ever wear out. The sound quality is excellent, virtually noise free - incoming calls via the cellphones are perfectly clear. The Intercom feature - while nothing new - is still a great help in a multi-story house or office and also delivers excellent sound. The handsets can be "named" (up to 10 characters) allowing room names to appear on the intercom menus. Each handset has a volume amplification control - a useful feature in a noisy room. To review the features and capabilities of this phone, use the following search string to download the Panasonic user manual in .pdf: "KX-TG7745S Owner's Manual (Multi Language)"

-----7 mo update-----

13 November 2012: No complaints, rock-solid performance and excellent audio quality over dozens of incoming and outgoing calls on two cell phones (LG and Motorola). The intercom has been a handy feature in a multi-level home. The Panasonic has allowed me to jettison a $41/mo landline bill. Highly recommended and still worth 5-stars!

-----19 mo later, Nov 2013-----

Just upgraded mobile phones to Motorola Moto Xs. Both connected to the Panasonic Bluetooth with out issue. The Moto X Bluetooth radio seems stronger: conversations through the Pasnasonic can be had at even greater range (distance between mobile phone & Panasonic) with very high voice quality. There is an issue with OUTGOING calls with the Moto X. See comments of 1 Dec 2013. (Moto X - NICE phone BTW)

4Pros/Cons Retiring Vtech LS5145 for Panasonic KX-TG7745S
By Demanding Consumer
After four years with my Bluetooth enabled cell phone linking Vtech LS5145 base station and additional LS5105 handsets, the Panasonic KX-TG7745S appeared to be the answer to resolving my battery pack replacement blues while also leveraging newer "advanced" technologies to hopefully improve my phone configuration while simultaneously retaining a comparable feature set. Going into the exchange, I had high hopes that the Panasonic, with four years of technology advancement, would exceed my expectations in most, if not all, areas of performance compared to my old Vtech LS5145/LS5105 phone set; however, the experience has fallen just a bit shy of what I was hoping for. For what it's worth to others who may be at a similar cross-roads, here are my observations/impression following the "upgrade:"

Pros (with notes comparing to my old Vtech LS5145 + LS5105 handsets):

- DECT 6.0 Digital Enhanced Communications between handsets and base station ( IIRC, my old Vtech model was unencrypted spread spectrum )
- Talking Caller ID ( Pretty cool as my old Vtech phones did not talk... )
- Standard AAA NiMH Rechargeable Batteries instead of custom battery pack ( For comparison, my old Vtech uses custom battery pack BT5872 )
- Link 2 Cell Phones via Bluetooth (Supports one linked cell call and one landline call simultaneously, same as my old Vtech)
- 30 Number Call blocking (No call blocking on VTech, IIRC)
- 18 Minutes record capability (I believe the Vtech did something on the order of 15 min instead)
- 13 Hour Talk Time (Advertised at least... and the old VTechs are nowhere close at an advertised 4.5 hours talk time, IIRC)
- Backlit keypads (Old VTech keypad was backlit as well, though I'm not sure one is better than the other, but back-lighting is good!)
- No annoyingly bright power/charge/locator light (Old VTech lit room up at night with bright blue light...)
- Cellular Only mode if you've gotten rid of your land-line (Must admit I don't know how/if the Vtech handled this scenario as I've always had a land line)
- Base and Handsets have speaker phone capability (Seemingly comparable to my old Vtech model)
- Intercom Capability between handsets (Had hoped functionality would be equivalent to the Vtech, but have yet to figure out how to do a "global" intercom to all other handsets)
- Total feature set somewhat comparable (except, apparently, the Vtech global intercom function, and the Vtech battery backup on base station)
- Big plus: 5 handset set readily available for not much more that what it would cost me to replace the failing battery packs in my 5 Vtech handsets and base station.

Cons (At least as compared to the old VTech phones)

- DECT 6.0 is supposed to provide better sound quality, but I'm not convinced as the new phones seem to have a constant "static hiss/noise" that I'd never really noted in the Vtechs.
- VTech was able to intercom call to all handsets simultaneously as well as 1 to 1... only been able to do 1 to 1 on Panasonic (so far, at least...)
- Monotone handset display as compared to VTech color handset display
- Maximum of 6 possible handsets total compared to, I believe, 12 for the VTech
- Charger Bases and phones feel lighter/cheaper than old VTech, in my opinion at least
- Not as sleek and designer-esque as the old VTech Phones, again, in my opinion at least
- Apparently, No Backup power on the base station... which is odd because the previous Panasonic model (KX-TG7645) apparently had it (VTech has battery backup in base unit)
- Durability compared to old VTech TBD...

So it's really something of a "mixed bag." The Panasonics appear to be, more or less, feature-comparable phones with new batteries and, supposedly, more secure wireless communications than before ( I was previously banking on the spread spectrum stuff making the VTech phones pretty hard to listen in to, but now DECT 6.0 supposedly provides digital encryption, the strength of which might be somewhat questionable, on top of what I can only hope is some form of spread spectrum with frequency hopping communications... though I can't seem to confirm any of this on Panasonic's website, so depending on how mandatory the security features are on any given DECT 6.0 Plus implementation the Panasonics "may" be more secure). I'm just a bit concerned that I can't seem to find any Panasonic literature addressing the security aspects/features of this phone. On the positive side, the cost was not much more than the battery replacement cost would have been for the VTech phones. Biggest disappointment so far is the background static noise that will probably irritate me more the more I continue to think about it. Just might be enough of a reason not to recommend these phones... but the talking caller ID is really cool! The Panasonic model (KX-TG7645) from last year got really good reviews and this year's model (KX-TG7745) simply appears to be a refresh with better iPhone integration, so I figured this year's model would be as good, if not better than, last year's. Perhaps that's where I went wrong? Anyone compared a KX-TG7645 against the KX-TG7745 as regards static/background/hiss noise present on the handsets? Anyway, perhaps I'm being a bit over-critical of the "hiss" as souund quality seems fairly acceptable overall when you're not listening to the hiss during silent moments. It just stands out to me since I don't recall having such an issue with the old Vtech model, though it may simply be a case of better noise reduction circuitry on the old Vtech as compared to the Panasonics. Will see if I can acclimate to the hiss over time or not...

UPDATE/EDIT 09 JUNE 2012: Updated original review to indicate that the KX-TG7745S does indeed support both a landline call and a cell call simultaneously. For example, a linked cell call can be placed from one handset while a landline call is already in progress on another handset. In such a case, both calls proceed simultaneously. There seems to be a lot of confusion online regarding this capability with some reviewers stating that the KX-TG7745S cannot do this; however, I have successfully performed this very exercise with my KX-TG7745S. Having said that, what does appear to be a limitation is that, according to the manual, only one linked Bluetooth device may be "connected" at a time. Unfortunately, the manual author's use of the word "connected" is confusing and somewhat absurd sounding. "What? I can only have one Bluetooth device "connected" at a time???" If true, this would make it almost pointless for the unit to support linking of two phones as the second phone would not be able to "connect" once the first one did. Or, for that matter, neither cell phone would be able to connect if a Bluetooth headset was connected to the phone system first! Anyway, I believe what the author meant to say is that, while both cell phones can be linked/connected simultaneously, only one linked/connected Bluetooth device may be in active use at a time. This means that if a linked cell call is in progress on one handset and you pick up another handset to try making a call from the other linked cell phone, the handset will indicate that the phone is "busy" and you will not be able to access the second cell phone. Furthermore, if the maual is correct in what it states, the use of a Bluetooth headset during a landline call would seem to exclude the use of either cell phone during that time, thus making it impossible to make/receive a linked cell phone call while the Bluetooth headset is in use. If true, that sorta stinks. Will have to hunt down my Bluetooth headset and test this out at some point to see if it is true. Now for one last note: While your cell phone is linked/connected to the base station, it is pretty much worthless for making/receiving cell calls directly through the cell phone itself as, at least with my phones, the speaker and probably the microphone are apparently disabled while linked. I assume this is for privacy and energy reduction while in use through the handset phone system; however, it means you will need to disconnect/de-link your cell phone before you can reasonably use it directly. Would be nice if the cell phones were smart enough to de-link/disconnect automatically when accessed directly so that you could simply pick up your cell phone and use it as normal at any time. The cell phone could then automatically reconnect after you've completed your call and put the cell phone back down. Or, pherhaps the cell phones could simply provide an easily accessible quick-disconnect button to allow you to decide whether you want to disconnect quickly or simply stay connected while you access other non-call related features of your cell phone. Better yet, just have the cell phone automatically disconnect when I go to dial a number or receive a call directly from the cell phone... and then reconnect when I'm done. Sounds pretty straight-forward to me. Perhaps some cell phones are this intelligent; however, mine don't appear to be. Take a "hint" cell phone manufacturers! Here's something you can improve!!!

Also, in investigating possible explanations for the low level background hiss/noise I've previously reported with my KX-TG7745S and in light of the glowingly good reviews everyone seems to have given the older KX-TG7645M, I've been scrutinizing the differences between them to see if there can be any explanation. This evening, while holding boxes for each of the two models, a possible explanation jumped out at me: The KX-TG7645M box touts the units superior sound quality performance due to employing "Range Boost antenna technology;" however, there is no mention of Range Boost antenna technology on the KX-TG7745S packaging!!! The KX-TG7645M box even goes on to note something to the effect that the Range Boost antenna technology can provide up to something like a 20% improvement in talking quality as compared to Panasonic products employing standard DECT 6.0 Plus technology without the RangeBoost antenna! Can anyone confirm for certain that the improved Range Boost antenna technology has truly been left off of this new KX-TG7745S model? If so, I'm becoming even more convinced that the KX-TG7745S is even more of a manufacturing cost reduction stripped down KX-TG7645M imposter than I previously thought. FYI, here's a recap of the features in which the KX-TG7745S currently appears deficient with respect to the KX-TG7645M:

KX-TG7645M advertises Range Boost antenna technology while the KX-TG7745S is apparently absent such technology (If true, could forecast lower quality sound on the 7745 vs. the 7645)
KX-TG7645M provides power backup capability for operating base station during a power outage while the KX-TG7745S lacks this feature and will cease to operate during a power outage.
KX-TG7645M appears to have a voice memo function while the KX-TG7745S appears to be absent this function.

Only new feature I've identified for the KX-TG7745S (other than the obvious aesthetic changes) is the addition of a side mounted volume control rocker switch... which, for me, actually seems harder to use than the front panel rocker volume switch anyway!

I can't say for sure whether the KX-TG7645M is better than this model or not, but the specs are starting to stack up in its favor and I think I'm going to be looking into it. If my suspicions turn out to be true I'll likely be sending the KX-TG7745S back home to mama... stay tuned for the next update!

UPDATE 16 JUNE 2012: Ok, my new KX-TG7645M is now here for comparison against my previously purchased KX-TG7745S and the sound quality of the 7645 does seem somewhat better than that of the 7745, at least in my particular application anyway. There is still some low level white-noise hiss notable in the 7645 during silent moments; however, the more static-like noise present in the 7745 seems to be gone in the 7645. Surprisingly, I'd have to give the ease of use approval to the 7745 over the 7645; however, the 7645 wins the aesthetics competition hands down! I won't bore you with all the details here, but if you really want to know the nitty gritty details of my observations, see the 7745 vs. 7645 discussion thread available below.

Oh, and I don't believe the 7733 has the Range Boost or reversible handset features either, contrary to the comparison chart as it currently stands on the product page. And, despite the charts insinuations, I would encourage you to compare and contrast different model features to arrive at your own determination as to which model is best for you...

3Doesn't work reliably with iPhone 4S
By Gadget Dad
There are many positive reviews here of this product already, so I'll instead just address a major, deal-breaking concern. This device does NOT work reliably with the iPhone 4S. It DOES work as advertised with the iPhone 4 and earlier. But there is a known issue on the Apple Support forums that addresses the simple fact that this phone won't work reliably with the 4S.

I've successfully used this device with a Bluetooth Plantronic Voyager headset, an iPhone 4, a Samsung Galaxy Fascinate, a Samsung Galaxy S3 and even an older LG flip phone. All work flawlessly, just as advertised. If you have an iPhone 4 it will "push" your native ringtones (even custom ones like songs) out to all the handsets in the home and play it through them. Very deep, tight integration and Panasonic is to be applauded for including this.

But the iPhone 4S is a different story altogether. In at least 90% of all the use cases I tried, conversations that originate from the phone handset through the 4S are completely unintelligible to the listener. You will have extreme digital "garbling" that makes it sound like you are talking underwater. Every once in awhile, with no discernible reason as to what caused the difference, the call will work just fine. As a result, if you have a 4S, you may as well not bother to even pair it with this phone. If you do, you'll still be required to answer the phone using the iPhone itself or risk having your callers just hang up in disgust. Its that bad.

I give it 3 out of 5 stars since it does work as advertised with some phones. But the 4S was released several months prior to the intorduction of this product by Panasonic, and it is listed on Panasonic's website as being compatible. Clearly they didn't test this or they'd know this is not the case. I have tested it with 3 different iPhone 4S's now and all exhibit the same faulty behavior.

I hope this helps informed buyers avoid this product if you have a 4S. Otherwise, it works as advertised.

**Revised review notes**

I thought in the interest of fairness I'd post an update.

I've tried almost every possible configuration of the iPhone 4S with this phone to get rid of the garbling that makes the phone useless. I've found that I _CAN_ improve the performance to the point where it will work maybe 2/3 of the time for both incoming and outgoing calls with minimal to no garbling/digital static. Your mileage may vary but hope this helps.

1) Turn off your WiFi when home. Yes, I realize that this makes the iPhone 4S eat up more cellular data so this may not work for you. But apparently when WiFi is enabled and you have WEP security enabled on your router and the iPhone, the signal from the WiFi circuitry on the 4S interferes with the Bluetooth radio. I've found just turning off WiFi improves performance and clarity by almost 80% and makes the phone useable with this Panasonic rig.

2) Once a day, delete the Bluetooth pairing for this Panasonic handset rig, then do a hard reset of your 4S. Re-pair Bluetooth once the phone reboots. Another pain in the butt thing but doing this, along with disabling WiFi, gets you close to full reliability of the 4S for making/receiving calls.

I'm still leaving this at 3 out of 5 stars, but have noted that Panasonic has now remove the 4S from their listing of compatible phones on their website so at least they have acknowledged the problem. And, to their credit, the problem appears to lie more with the 4S than it does with Panasonic since most other phones (including the iPhone 4) work just fine with this setup.
