Blackberry NAILED IT

The z10 is amazing, despite the lack of apps which are going to be filled to match iOS and Android within the year. I sideloaded many apps it lacked, Pandora, Instagram, and skype and it works so much better than my old iPhone5 I didn't know if i wanted to get rid of the iphone but honestly i was tired of the boring OS, the battery kept dying the first couple of days but finally i let it die completely and charged it and now it last me about 16 hours with moderate use the iphone usually at 30% by the 10th hour and dead by the 14th.

Pros:
silky smooth OS
The camera features are AMAZING
BBM IS BACK!!!!
the keyboard is amazing (although there is a learning curve once you get used to it you'll be typing faster than on any other device out there)
the device is smooth and has a nice grip on the back you can use it without the case and you don't get the fragile "it might slip" feeling like you do with iPhones it feels very durable (like most blackberry's)

Cons-
their are a few bugs but it is a new device so its to be expected (theres an update coming in march which should fix the most annoying ones
it wasn't free i wanted a free phone

conclusion-
Blackberry nailed it, i have many of my iphone friends waiting for it to launch here in the US so they can pick it up. I'm proud to say that i'm probably one of the first with it here in arizona :D

I have been using the Z10 for a month in UK. The phone is amazing. People carping about plastic case don't know what they are talking about. The chassis is solid stainless steel with black or white finish. I proved this wth a magnet. The BB10 QNX O/S is rock stable. No crashes so far. The browser is awesome. The keyboard is great too. As well as native apps, the phone also contains an Android run time environment which will be upgraded to the latest Android Jellybean version in due course. I can sideload android gingerbread apps at the moment like Kindle. Thousands of android apps have been ported to the phone already and many thousands more natively coded apps are available. This is unprecedented for such a new O/S. Screen resolution is amongst the best on the market. A common inbox(hub) for all incoming social and email comms is a great feature. GPS, Accelerometer and electronic compass work fine as does NFC. I have NFC tags stuck on my laptop to ring frequent numbers or instantly pull up key apps like the calendar. You can plug the phone into a TV or monitor hdmi port and connect a bluetooth keyboard and mouse. The phone will then outperform many laptops especially as it can handle MS Office files (Word, Excel, Powerpoint)and .pdf out of the box. Most phone functions can also be voice controlled.
Battery life is adequate but needs managing like turning off wifi and NFC if not being used and religiously charging each night. No Netflix app yet or Banking apps like Pingit but hopefully they will come. Be aware also that Amazon don't currently support MP3 downloads directly to the phone. Hope they fix that soon. My biggest concern is the leather Blackberry pouch I bought which features the sleep magnet. The phone is a very tight fit and I max out the volume control when I pull out the phone. I guess I can live with that. A recommended buy.

Feature Rich and Amazing

The Z10 is not withstanding the best cell phone that I have owned yet.

The apps that the Blackberry App Store has are relevant and high quality. On Apple's and Android's app store I find myself flooded with non-relevant selections and wasting my time shifting through trying to find what I am looking for. On Blackberry's App store I do not have this problem. Some may find the number of apps on the Blackberry App Store as discouraging while as I find it a blessing for that fact alone.

I am no longer an Android fan as their Operating Systems just seem to crash or freeze up more than anything else. No problems with this on the Z10.

To sum up the Pros:

*Long lasting battery
*Touch is responsive
*Interface super smooth
*Operations are fast
*Not to mention the superb sharpness and brightness of the Screen
*I am also a fan of the auto brightness functionality (the brightness of the screen auto adjusts to the light conditions).
*The keyboard is better by far than any other phone I have used to include the IPhone and Nexus 4.

This is my first time Buying a cellphone on amazon. Because of that, i spent a lot of time doing research about this model BEFORE buying.

First impressions of the phone made me very happy. Its very thin and sleek. Has a very good grip but just in case, buy a TPU cover for it.

The screen is amazing! It has Properties pertaining High-end Cellphones like gorilla glass and such. Sturdy and scratch resistant, It makes it a very good screen.

Opening the Back case is a little messy hehe but nothing to worry about. Inside the battery case you will see that this phone supports micro SD cards, up to 32 GB if my memory serves me well.

Another thing you will see is that it Uses a standard sized SIM CARD, so no worries there unless you have a micro SIM CARD. In the same area you will notice that this phone LACKS NFC CAPABILITIES . Although this was one of the reasons i bought it, it is still a superb phone so no problems there. The reason for the lack of NFC is that this phone is an asian version, thus the model number 705. The P700 however , has NFC capabilities .

It has a 5 megapixels Camera on the back too. My test Photos are very good. Of course Remember that this is NOT a camera, it is a phone.

This phone has a CPU processor of 1GHZ and aside of that, a GPU of 200 MHz so its not dual core but it plays games , videos and music with a very good performance. It also has 2.72 GB of internal storage. It says 4 in the description but it doesn't account for the OS so , that's it. Ram is 512 MB which is also very good and decent for a phone.

Ok going For the front side of the phone you will see a notification led, and a light sensor . These two work as intended. At their side you will see a 1.2 megapixels camera, Ideal for Skype and Video Calls because it wont need to transmit a lot of high resolution video data.

You will see 3 buttons. The psychical one its the home button , very simple and elegant. the other two buttons are soft touch so they only light up when you touch the center one or if you are using the phone.

On the Software side, It has Android 4.0 with an upcoming update from LG this year (2013). Android Runs very fast in this phone . Has a very good Integration with the hardware at disposal. Applications can be and will be installed in this phone .
Live wallpaper runs smoothly. Wireless is excellent, because it recognizes 2,4 and 5 GHZ wi-fi networks. GPS it's very exact although i do believe you will need a wireless connection for it to work. Need to test it and i'll update the review then .

Another thing. This phone Being an Asian version comes with Chinese as the default language set. you will need to change it and it will promptly show at power up a message , you should choose the left option and it will prompt a language list. Sorry latin american folks but it has no Spanish/Español so use english or whatevs.

Another thing worth of notice. This phone will work In VENEZUELA, But only with two operators, Movilnet and Movistar. I'm not sure if Digitel Works but you should check the Frequency Range of this or any phone first before buying as common sense

Overall this phone is a excellent choice . I give it 9/10 points. Pretty, fast and spectacular. The Seller, Hasslefreecell Sent with the phone a charger adapter. It wasn't necessary but it was very thoughtful of them .

One thing You must remember, This is no Samsung S3/S2 Phone, nor an Iphone, Not a tablet. But it will prove reliable with office applications and such .

This is Something I Promised So here it is.

I was trying the GPS and yes, it do works without Data plans or wireless connection.

The thing is it is not bulls eye precision, so you will have to adapt to it hehe.

Of course if you are on the outside with the GPS on, Wifi on/data plan on , Then you will get more accurate measures.

The other Thing i found out is this.

A lot of users here are asking/complaining about the lack of 3G/EDGE/GPRS/ETC data frequencies.

Well the solution to this is that one must set the APN settings for the carrier of your choice so if you are in Venezuela or other country, then try to contact your carrier about this, or look it up on the web :3, that's what i did and it worked, so that is my advice to you.

Well that is mostly what i found out in this time. Phone still is rocking out, battery lasting almost 3 days with moderate use, hard as hell to scratch the screen, you get the idea. One word of advice:

If you have trouble picking wi-fi signal with this cellphone , barring some exceptional circumstances, it's not probably your cellphone, It is the router.

I ran into some trouble with an old router so if you have this kind of trouble, you might want to change it.

Well, LG never ceases to amaze me .

This update is about the OS Software Update (*Snort*) That LG released this year 2013. This means that Now everyone has Android 4.1.2 JellyBeans Installed on your shiny LG P705. Now you all might be asking, What does this means for our cellphone? Well I'll try to point the most relevant points about this OS upgrade.

All the Native applications have been revamped. They look really good and now they all have a biggest array of options.

The user interface has been improved too. Now you can select the brightness of the phone, switch on/off your data plan, turn on/off power saver, turn on/off wifi hotspot,turn on/off airplane mode and turn on / off screen rotation without entering the system menu.

The System fonts are now bolder so you can see everything better. This i like because it uses the screen at it's full.

Be prepared. When you Update, all the Native apps the cellphone had (the chinese ones. I removed those at buying) Are going to install again. So get ready to uninstall most of them.

Videos Look better than ever. I suppose they upgraded the codecs or something. Sound keeps being excellent.

With AnTuTu Benchmark , before the update i got 3360 points. Now it has 4245. So now it goes faster hehe.

The update comes with Google Now, which seems to be a great app as far I've tested. Good design and excellent usability.

One Warning with Firefox explorer. If you try to update it and you get an error about data package, Uninstall it and then install it.

Now, About how to update. You might try to Update it OTA but it might prompt a message about needing LG PC SUITE to update.So you should get LG PC SUITE as soon as possible from Lg official web. After install and cellphone connection, it will prompt you a message about the update. Be sure to connect your phone over USB CABLE, because for some weird reason, Wi-Fi would not work. (maybe because wifi might be unstable for a update???). Anyway the update process shouldn't take too long.Unless you choose to do a backup. I did it and it just took 20 min longer so it's up to you to back up (pro tip: do the backup).

Well, that's all, Mostly. Ill test the phone more thoroughly to see what else changed.

Rest assured that your phone will keep being an excellent phone. Only Better.

Hello all, this is a new update for this cellphone review. This update is about a software upgrade that came out this day for me. It was signed with may 5 date and had 2,22 MB of data downloaded. It downloaded fast and updated faster. I haven't noted any changes in the phone's software, but it is a little faster.

This update is probably a response to some screw up from google that is now flipping out with the location access of a lot of apps.Let's hope this works out for us .

About the phone, it is still working fine. It has so much gumption that it is basically insane, and it is still rocking out.

New Update: The phone Had a major OS update this 16/6/2013. As the update said, 52 apps were updated, this seems about the internet app, saying that it has been revamped to have more speed when you navigate. I could not read all the update message but i have noticed a bit of speed navigation increase in the phone.

The update downloaded 15 mb of data Aprox. I haven't seen any major changes in the phone, except some cosmetic ones and a little increase in the software speed.

The test with Antutu Benchmark actually dropped the score to 3186,tho i think it was because i have a lot less memory available now but who cares hehe.

In all everything is well. Points To LG for having such a good support service, even overseas.

The phone still is keeping up as a mobile gadget, so i can still suggest it as a good item.

This phone is amazing. it's like a mini laptop.
The multitude of aplications downloaded on the phone keep me in touch with the world -weather, news, email, facebook...
Its internal memory it's so big that i can download movies, i can record videos and still have enough memory for games or applications.
It has lots of themes, lockers, widgets..
I just love it, i wouldn't trade it for an iphone.

Pleasantly suprised

I've had about 2 months to play around with the phone and am very pleased so far. I owned a HTC Inspire for 2 years before purchasing this so my battery and performance expectations were already pretty achievable. The phone arrived fairly quickly and came with a male micro-usb to male usb cable, an AC to female usb wall adapter and all the manuals. After the first initial charge I plugged in my SIM card and turned it on. I'm currently on a Family Mobile cell plan and works just fine after a few setting changes. Search for Family Mobile APN settings and it will show you how to configure your phone.

Hardware:
The phone is very sleek. I bought the white model and get compliments on how nice the phone looks frequently. At first I was surprised at how light it was but now the weight seems very natural. Some people dislike lighter phones because they don't feel as sturdy but it personally doesn't bother me. The back cover has a bit of a flimsy feel to it, but unless you're swapping out SIMs, MicroSDs or batteries frequently you won't notice it that much. The physical home button, the volume rocker and the tactile back and menu buttons are all sturdy and responsive. The screen lock button on the top right of the phone seems too recessed into the phone for my liking, but i'm sure it helps with not accidentally unlocking your screen. The AUX jack on the top left of the phone gives a snug fit and makes good contact with the male end of the cord.

Software:
To start out, I absolutely love Ice Cream Sandwich. It combines aesthetically pleasing menus with tons of features. One of my main concerns with buying this phone was everyone's complaint about the single core processor. My old HTC Inspire was also a single core processor phone so maybe that's why I don't notice it that much but i've yet to experience any sort of significant lag. This being said, I also compulsively hold the home button down and close any applications i'm done using so it doesn't eat up my process allowance and battery. I'm sure if you were to leave tons of apps running in the background or if you game on your phone it might under perform for you. Video watching on this phone is very enjoyable as well. Whether it be internet streaming or a local file the picture quality is quite impressive. Playing a Blueray quality video file on the phones stock video app plays without lag or buffering which is a huge plus. Screen brightness ranges from very bright to almost off but lacks an auto brightness feature. Rooting was fairly easy once I found the right software. I could not SuperOneClick it but the LG flash tool worked fine. The camera takes decent quality pictures, but the flash is weak. This is a main weak point for me because I like to use my phone as a flashlight, but now I can't.

Battery Life:
This was the main feature that drew me to the phone. The battery life on the HTC Inspire is HORRIBLE so I wanted to make sure not to make the same mistake twice. Average life seems to be around 12 hours with medium use for me. Juicedefender helps quite a bit, but I also have screen brightness set to 60% (which is pretty bright). I mostly only text, browse the web, and make the occasional phone call so I think 12 hours is pretty reasonable. On the HTC Inspire I would have got 3 hours, so no complaints here. The one thing i've found to REALLY kill the battery is streaming movies and music on your mobile network. When you're connected to Wifi it's not as noticeable, which I almost always am, but for some reason mobile internet drains it. Light to no use and I think the battery would last well over 24 if not 36 hours.

Overall I'm still in love with this phone, especially for the price. For someone who is not on a contract (which I am not) ICS + good battery life + factory unlock + sleek design + under $200 = an awesome phone.

Samsung S4 sets the bar to a new level

The Samsung S4 cell phone is the hottest and newest phone on the smart phone market. This Android device has gotten much press and rightly so. In terms of specifications, the S4 has a lot going for it that has it as the leader of the pack over many smart phones. But at first glance, this new phone looks and feels much like its predecessor, the Galaxy S3. So what makes this phone different and why should you be interested in purchasing it? This review will explore those issues and help answer that question.

When you have a good thing going, why not start with that as your baseline. Samsung has done just that with the S4. The S3 and the S4 are very similar on many levels and very different in key areas. Their size is essentially the same at 5.38" x 2.75" x .31". This actually makes the S4 .7mm thinner than the S3. Its weight is 4.6 ounces, .7 ounces lighter than the S3. Comparing the two, Samsung has increased the size of the screen to a 5" display that offers full HD resolution at 1920 x 1080 pixels. While other phones offer similar resolutions, none have the same quality image that comes from the Super AMOLED screen offered on the S4. Side-by-side comparisons with phones such as the HTC One find the S4 shines with more prominent resolution and richer color tones.

The screen also has improved capacitance over the S3 and previous Samsung offerings. This improved capacitance supports phone use while gloves are worn. Those who live in cold climates or those who are fashion conscious and wear gloves will find this enhanced capability helpful. While this capability is a nice addition, it takes some getting used to. Because it is more sensitive, it's easy to falsely register a finger press if you hover your hand over the screen in the just the right way. Hopefully Samsung can correct this performance flaw with future software upgrades.

Regardless, the S4 screen is a remarkable technological creation. Its visual performance makes it like a smaller cousin of much larger HD televisions. It is a beautiful piece of work and the highest quality screen of its size presently on the market.

At first glance, the camera appears to also be the same as the S3. This is, in fact, not the case. The S4 houses a whopping 13-megapixel, rear-facing camera and a 2-megapixel, front facing camera. The rear-facing, 13-megapixel camera image is excellent. The imaging capabilities of both cameras extend past the raw hardware with added features built into their associated software. There is software to do most anything you can think of with the images taken. Software even uses both the front and back camera to offer all kinds of imaging effects from panoramic images to slow motion videos.

Much of the new hardware, software, and extended features built into the S4 place heavy processing demands on the phone's engine. Because of this, Samsung has integrated a 1.9GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 processor to help keep things purring along smoothly. At the time of this review, this makes the S4 one of the fastest smartphones on the market.

Coupled with this increased processing power is an expanded memory card slot for additional storage. Samsung is selling the S4 in 16GB, 32GB, and 64GB configurations. For those considering the S4 with 16GB of storage, this may be a bit limiting. Approximately 6GB is eaten up by the OS and installed apps, which leaves a scant 8-9GB of storage. This is 2GB less storage than the S3. The S4 supports the installation of up to an additional 64GB using a Micro SD card. If you're considering purchasing this phone, you might want to add a Micro SD card to your purchase and expand the base memory, or purchase an S4 with a higher amount of integrated storage.

Keep in mind that the more data you add to your Micro SD card, the more information the S4 has to parse. If you have a 64GB SD card packed with pictures and videos, when you open the Gallery to view them, even the quad-core processor will crank itself silly to host them for you; it will take time for them to display. There's no working around this. It's the nature of the beast. Just accept this as a current limitation based on processor speed and storage mass.

The front of the phone contains a number of additional sensors that monitor eye movement and proximity so the phone knows how far it is from your ear. An infra red blaster is integrated into the top of the phone to enable it to act as a remote, with the appropriate app installed to function as a remote. These sensors and the infra red blaster offer many new features not available with the S3. The phone can act as a remote control for your television, CD/DVD player, A/V receiver, and even home appliances that support remote control. The eye sensor offers additional features that control screen dimming and auto pausing when you look away from the screen. Likewise, when you look at the screen, dimming and auto pausing resume their normal operation.

Applications available to support the additional sensors include Air View, Air Gesture, and Smart Scroll. While these features are futuristic and helpful in theory, they aren't flawless in practice. They are also rather complex to learn and use, which detracts from the concept of simplicity when it comes to operating the device. Take this into consideration when adopting the phone for your use. Not all the features have to be used at once. You may find some features helpful while others are an annoyance. They are all highly configurable and it will take some time and practice to set them up to your liking.

Like the S3, the S4 supports Samsung's S Beam and near field communication (NFC). S Beam allows two Samsung phones to be placed back-to-back so they can share multimedia content such as videos, music, pictures, etc. The devices only need to be placed a few centimeters from each other to link, and, unlike Bluetooth, no pairing is needed. Communication is provided by WiFi Direct, which makes transfer speeds quite good.

Samsung has received many user complaints over the quantity of polyurethane used with their phones. They are plastic centric in construction and many consumers feel this detracts from a robust, solid feel. The S4 seems to have taken this into consideration with the addition of a flat metal bezel around the side edge of the phone. Much like the iPhone, the S4 has a metallic edge that augments its former plasticized edge construction.

The case itself is similar to the S3. The rear cover is easily removed to reveal the battery, SIMM card, and Micro SD card.

As for battery life, the S4 stock battery is 2,600mAh compared to the 2,100mAh S3 battery. This is a 20% increase in battery size with no added thickness to the phone's form factor. In fact--as stated earlier--the S4 is .7mm thinner than the S3. This added battery storage is required due to the increased screen size and additional features and applications. Each person's use is highly personalized, so it's difficult to gauge how this battery will perform with your personal use, but, in general, it seems to be an adequate amount of power storage for moderate use. Still, it will more than likely require daily charging. If this is a concern to you, you might consider an extended-life battery. These batteries are freely sold on Amazon and other locations, but most of them require an aftermarket back to the case that will replace your stock rear cover. Extended batteries mean heftier weight and added thickness to the phone. Another option is to purchase an additional battery as a backup for when your primary battery discharges.

Out of the box, the S4 comes equipped with Android Jelly Bean 4.2.2 and a huge amount of software. If there's one complaint about this phone it is in relation to the amount of features and software bundled with it. The S4 has a mountain of software that, at first glance, can be absolutely overwhelming. It will take time to sort out and learn everything this phone can do, so pencil in an evening or two to explore, configure, and learn what's new and how to use it. The list is far too extensive to cover in this review, but it should be stated that every feature the phone has is supported by associated software. In addition to this software, Samsung has packed new applications to satisfy every possible type of user. You may find it all useful, but this is doubtful. Most likely, you'll use a subsection of all the software installed and make it your own. One could say Samsung has given the consumer the benefit of choice by adding so many features and so much software. Sometimes it's better to have too much than not enough, and this is true here. Rather than be overwhelmed by it, see it as a library of possibilities that supports a healthy amount of functions. Decide which functions are useful to you and learn them. For those functions and applications that hold little interest, leave them alone for now.

The S4 is an enhanced deconstruction and reconstruction of the S3. If you currently own the S3 and are considering an upgrade, take stock in the added features and capabilities of the S4. The S4 will give you the latest Android has to offer; a larger amount of storage space; a fabulous HD screen; a high-quality, 13-megapixel camera; huge amounts of added features and software; and a fantastic processor under the hood. If these things are important to you, then the S4 may be an exciting upgrade. If you're happy with the features and performance of your current S3, then you may want to save your money and stay with what you have.

Overall, the S4 is a brilliant device. It's not without its flaws and there is always room for improvement. While Apple performed wonders defining the modern smartphone, Samsung has helped take the concept one step further. If you're looking to upgrade your older smartphone and break into the Samsung Galaxy world for the first time, the S4 is a fantastic selection. It is, arguably, the best Android phone on the market, at present. Some may say it's the best smartphone, period. Each person's decision and opinion is highly individualistic. One thing is for sure, Samsung has pulled out all the stops to ensure consumers get the most for their money, and they have set the bar even higher for newcomers to take the mantle of achievement to a new level.

Awesome, but just for the initial 45 days of use - wifi/bt are dead and requires motherboard replacement

I already own an I 9505 and purchased this as a gift to my wife. She loved it, but wifi and bluetooth went dead after aprox. 45 days of use.
After noticing that there is no warranty from the seller after the first month of purchase; that Samsung Brazil informs that cannot accept an International version of GT-I9505 and that it has no International Warranty I am extremely disappointed.
I had to send the phone to a local 'generic' technical assistance for repair and they are asking me $300.00 for a new motherboard (the wifi/bt modules are soldered in the motherboard).
The total cost x benefit relation became terrible. I am spending a total of more than $850.00 ($650 for the phone + $300 for the repair), so it would be better for me to buy it here in Brazil, parcel the total amount in my credit card and would still have Samsung's warranty.

I don't know if they exist here, but look for sellers offering products with International Warranty. My disappointment for buying this product from this seller is tremendous as I bought it in late December 2013 and in early February 2014 the phone was almost unusable.

i bought this phone "brand new" "unlocked", well it sure was unlocked, but new? , not so much , after 5 months the phone started to have problems with one of the speakers so i went to an apple store because to my knowledge the phone was still under warranty ( 1 year), according to the representative at the apple store, the phone was bought more than a year ago, i was like ohhh no, i have proof that i bought it , and bam, im all cocky getting my receipt from amazon, right away i found it , and they guy is like , you see , this receipt doesnt have the EIN for this cell phone so we can accept it , i was like , im f....ed now, called amazon, for the first time in 2 years i had an almost bad experience , LOL because i called twice to ask for a receipt with the EIN on it , the sent it twice to my email, but it was the same receipt i had( no EIN on receipt) but the third representative, offered me an 80% refund on my purchase which i thought it was awesome because my plan was to get the phone fixed and sell it for $150.00, when i sent the phone, the very next day i received a call from amazon , letting me know that they had received the phone and that they where processing my refund, these guys are awesome, now why to me this was a good deal? , well i wanted the iphone 5 so, i used the money to upgrade.

Nice and neat product. I placed a T-Mobile Sim card and it started working nicely.. So far I am very happy with this phone. I hope will last longer than my last Samsung Captivate (lasted 2 months) before going crazy. (the phone of course).
I am still configuring all the apps and haven't tried 3G yet. I'll post when done.
When I plugged it in on my USB port, it inmediatly, through KIES, did an automatic software update and it was done perfectly.
So far, very happy with this phone.

Just got this and so far it's running smoothly and I was surprised to see that the operating system is actually 4.2.2 Jellybean. This is very comparable and cheaper alternative to the S4. The phone came with earphones an international charger and a usb cable. I am very pleased with this phone I highly recommended it.

Best phone I've ever had

I'm someone who is not easily impressed by phones. I've been using Android since 2.1 and have had over 10 Android phones to date. The problem with Android up to this year was the fact that it wasn't as stable and smooth as it should have been. A lot of that is caused by manufacturers' custom UI's, which is why before I bought this phone, the Galaxy Nexus running stock Android was the phone I kept coming back to. The Moto X has taken what I loved about the Galaxy Nexus (stock Android, comfortable hardware, Amoled screen) and made it 50 times better. For starters, this is hands down the best made non-metal phone on the market. How Motorola packed a 4.7" screen into a chassis this tight and petite is a mystery to me. They should be investigated for witchcraft. The screen, while only 720p, looks incredible. I held it next to my roommate's HTC One, and I could barely tell the difference in resolution. Everything looks vibrant and sharp. The ULTRA small side bezels are also a great factor.
This phone seems to be getting a lot of bad rep by ignorant internet people for only having a dual-core processor in a day and age in which quad-core are becoming standard in this price bracket. Power is not an issue with this phone. Stock Android runs very light and I will very VERY rarely get a small hiccup (the most common are when I press the lock twice rapidly; the screen takes an extra second or two to come alive and reveal its beauty). It has 2 additional cores for contextual computing and language processing, so it's not your traditional dual-core phone. It's very powerful and requires less energy to run, improving battery life. If you have a problem with performance from this phone, you're doing too much for your own good. It's a beast. Active display is SUPER useful and is one of the coolest, most useful and innovative features in a smart phone to date. I honestly couldn't imagine using a smartphone without it now.
The battery is also very good; it gets me through a full day's use with ease. My only gripes are that the camera's low-light performance isn't the greatest (which should be fixed in an upcoming software update) and that it only has 16gb of internal storage (I would assume to keep costs down).
In short, amazing hardware, awesome software, and a beautiful screen add up to one awesome device. You' be remiss not to consider it. The fact that I've been using it for 2 months and am still perfectly happy and have absolutely no desire to ever change should be reason enough to buy it.

Use it to its full potential and you won't be dissapointed

I purchased the Moto X from Sprint about a week ago, taking advantage of their new One Up program (phone cost me .42). A little background to my Smartphone usage. My first Smartphone was the HTC Incredible, so I have an extremely high standard for what a good Smartphone is. I loved the Incredible. I followed that up with the Samsung Galaxy S2, to extreme disappointment. What a hunk of crap that phone was. So, when the opportunity arose to dump the crap box ahead of my contract renewal, I jumped on it.
I debated between going back to HTC with the One or going with the new Motorola Moto X. I was hesitant at first about the X, but figured, it's made by Google, why wouldn't it be great? I was correct. The key to making the most out of this phone is to not gimp it out. Use Google, leave the GPS and WiFi on. The battery life is outstanding and lasts well into a day and a half even with all the features turned on. The bonus to letting the phone do what it does is it makes life better. This morning I had an up to the minute traffic update on my phone 10 minutes to my normal leaving time. It knows my house and my work. The voice commands are simple (despite what others are saying) and work amazing well if you take the time to really learn them. It connects to my Jabra Bluetooth speaker amazingly fast and uses all the Bluetooth controls with no setup (there is no need to use the activation phrase with Bluetooth, it just knows). In short, this is what a Smartphone should be. Smart. Don't be lazy in the first week or so of owning the phone and the phone will learn. Then, by all means, be lazy. Once trained, the phone knows what you want, it's a little freaky but totally worth it.

No Regrets! Buy it now!

First smart phone was a blackberry, then I got the original droid which was an AWESOME phone. I then upgraded to the droid 4 and was disappointed to say the least. Just went to verizon last week planning to get the droid max, however it was to big. I picked up the moto x and it simply fit! So I bought it and haven't looked back.

I am not a heavy smart phone user, main use is email, text, pictures and some web use, videos etc.. That being said this phone is fast.. I know its "slower than the S4", but its plenty fast esp coming from a droid 4. I have seen some reviews saying the camera is poor, but again compared to the droid 4 its fast and better quality pics. So I'm thrilled with it. I love how you can twist your wrist and the camera pops up without having to enter a pin. No missing a picture because I was too slow! At the end of the day my battery is typically still in the 70-80%. Again I'm not on my phone all day long, but that is with fair use, so this battery would easily last a heavier user all day. Oh and I can't forget the screen, its amazing. Again I know the resolution is less than some phones out there, but I can't see how you can get any better than this, and playing with the phones at verizon this screen seemed the most crisp. Coming off of always having a keyboard I was worried about typing on the screen but that hasn't been a big deal at all. The screen typing is way better than the droid 4 and makes the experience nice. Alot of reviews raved about the voice command feature on this phone, I've found that less useful than they seemed to, however its still a nice touch.

In summary I'm so glad I went with this phone instead of the ones with the larger screens, bigger battery etc..

Oh and I almost forgot, it flashes you the time and notifications when you pull it out of your pocket without having to "turn it on". It saves so much time not having to punch in a pin to see if the email or text was important or can wait.

Real review of a great phone compared to 5s!

I got my phone through T-mobile's deal of $0 down and pay over 2 years. It's my first iphone switching from andriod. At first I was worried about missing out on the 5s features and that it would be quite small compared to HTC One and other Samsung phones, but I think it is the right size for convenient single hand usage. A bigger screen may be welcome in the future for better movies/gameplay/document viewing but it's certainly better than the 4s screen size.

I finally went to an Apple store to see the 5s that I "missed out" on. I found out I actually preferred the 5c to the 5s because of how comfortable it felt in hand and the slight additional weight of the 5c made it feel more substantial and durable. The 5s was also less comfortable to hold due to the sharp edges and felt "cheap" because of how light it was. I was also kind of turned off by how the 5s looks after being used for so long - the demo models were a bit scratched/grimy not very bright/shinny/attractive. On the other hand the 5c "ages" well. I also tested responsiveness and speed of the user interface and was not impressed. It was exactly the same as the 5c. Probably larger apps and other computation would load faster, but general things like scrolling through menus, opening webpages was no different. Next time I'll have to try something more graphics intensive and report back but it does say a lot about the 5c.

Functionality, speed and ergonomics are all there with the 5c. Another thing worth mentioning is that the 5c is the less "flashy" phone and that was important to me (at least the white version) since I am not looking to standout and since there are a lot of phone theft/muggings/robberies these days. So overall, I feel this phone fit my needs perfectly.

Great iDevice

I've always had relatively inexpensive smartphones, Blackberry knockoffs (the Alcatel things) and so on. Most of them had data access, but it most were rudimentary at best. I kept an iPod Touch around as an iOS device, and used it to take most of the pictures that I wanted to post on Facebook or wherever because the cameras in my phones were usually awful. Recently updated from an $80 Android device to an iPhone 5c, as the store was out of the 5s.

That said... the 5c is a solid, solid phone. It is identical, hardware-wise, to the iPhone 5, except that it's made out of plastic and has a better front-side camera (1.2 megapixels vs VGA). It is quick, and runs a huge variety of apps. The battery life is fantastic. I haven't had any difficulty getting data even when in the middle of nowhere, or wandering around the unexplored wastes of the New Jersey pine barrens. Voice control is a plus... though Siri is, er, interesting, the real benefit is being able to tell the phone "Call mom" or "Call laura" or something while you're driving, so you don't have to be fiddling around with buttons. Texting works the same way, you can tell it to "Text Mom" and then say the message and send it. Very cool, convenient features to have.

The plastic feels very good. I've heard reviews that said it felt cheap compared to the "real" iPhone, but in reality the plastic -- or, I'm sorry, polycarbonate -- is really strong and is far less prone to scratching and chipping than the glass or metal versions are. The physical buttons on the side are functional and feel responsive, even moreso than on the 4s or iPhone 5. The main camera takes amazing photos, has HDR functionality, and takes beautiful, 1080p, video.

The downside to the phone is the standard iPhone complaints. Namely, there's a lack of "openness", in that I have no access to the basic filesystem, and that anything I want on the phone has to be shunted through iTunes, including ringtones: I had to take an MP3 file of the sound I wanted, add it to iTunes, then convert it to a ringtone just to make it available in the "Tones" list, and THEN I could sync it to the phone. Likewise, it wants you to get all your pictures and stuff off either through iCloud or with iPhoto, but I use a third party piece of software that lets me access the device directly.

Another complaint I have is that, for contacts, it synced to the address book on my MacBook Pro... which is all fine and well, but then it also scraped through my Facebook account for information, which then left me with a bunch of people that I either never want to get in touch with, or double entries for those I do. Scrounging through my phone to try to find one person amongst a list of like 400, both contact and Facebook friend, is annoying at best.

Amazing piece of hardware

I didn't buy my phone here, but I felt the need to leave a review about this device.

Sony has finally delivered a top tier phone. The look and feel are absolutely premium. I get the feeling that I am using a solid piece of hardware, unlike that glossy plastic feel and look you get in products from Samsung SGS line and the new iPhone 5C. The stock rom (Android 4.2.2) is the 1st stock I actually really enjoy using and don't feel the need to switch over to a custom rom. I really don't understand why this phone is not getting 5/5. Sony has put in a lot of effort into the design. With the ever so slightly edges at the corners. A real nice touch with the glass backing. They even went as far as putting in two holes in the bottom right corner to be used for a camera wrist strap. Such as one like this Nikon 25770 AN-CP19 Black Strap. There is a nice discreet LED notification light at the top middle of the phone. A small but well liked feature. It flashes white when you have a notification, flashes red when on low battery and stays orange when charging.

The screen is so nice. Out of the 5x3 inches of the phone the screen is 4.5x.2.5 inches. It looks right and when using it you really feel there is a really nice amount of screen real estate available to you. I am also glad they did not include and physical home button on the screen.

I haven't even got to the best part. The phone is waterproof and dustproof receiving certificate of military resistance IP58. How great is that? The phone has 16 GB of internal storage. Most people will never go over 10GB of data their phone. I don't understand why people try to point out it has low internal storage space in comparison to the Note 3 which has 32GB or 64GB and can take external microSD. Great for the Note 3! But, who really needs that much internal data on a phone? Try going on the cloud. If you need the extra space the phone can take up to 64GB microSD for the people who need to horde data. If you need to go that route I suggest getting a Class 10 64GB such as this SanDisk SDSDQUA-064G-U46A Ultra 64 GB microSDXC Class 10 UHS-1 Memory Card 30MB/s with Adapter

The phones response time is so quick and smooth. I'm not going to give you the specifics on the internals but there is some seriously good hardware in the phone. I ran AnTuTu Benchmark and got a rating of 34789. If you do not know what that means, the Z1 is amazing. To give you a comparison the Note 3 got a 33814, HTC One 25651 SGS S4 25161 Nexus 7 20438. As you can see the Z1 is beating the rest in the benchmark scores which basically means it has the superior internal components.

My only bad thing I have to say, is i'm afraid this lovely glass finish is going to get scratched so I had to get a very nice case for it and a screen protector. VSTN®Sony Xperia Z1 Honami L39H ultra-thin PC Case Cover (For Sony Xperia Z1 Honami L39H, Black)

If you are going to install the screen protector yourself I highly suggest getting some anti-static spray and apply it before installing the screen protector. Getting a spec or 2 of dust under the screen protector looks ugly. If you are going to be spending all this money on a phone, go the extra mile and buy the spray. This phone is the international edition so it recieves many different GSM radio frequencies and can be used with just about any GSM mobile network across the world. Just don't forget if you want to use your Mobile network data you have to put in the providers Access Point Name (APN). This can be found in Settings > More > Mobile networks > Access Point Names.

You will also need to set up your MMS network if you want to receive or send mms (picture messages). Go to Settings > More... > Internet Settings. Hit Accept then Select your Service Provider. It will install Internet & MMS settings.

The phone takes only microsim and is fully LTE capable, which I have no problem using on Tmobile's USA network. If you have a normal sim card and can't get a microsim immediatly, you can make your sim into a microsim with this. If you are into rooting and installing custom roms, the phone is easy to root and to unlock the boot loader.

The camera is 20.7MP. It takes good pictures during day time and has good flash for indoors, but the focus seems to "stutter". Nothing that can't be fixed, they just need to release a better software update to it. It is just an annoyance at most. The pictures I have taken so far have been really good. I haven't used it to take night time pictures yet, so I can't comment on that. There is a nice little added feature of a physical camera button on the bottom right. It makes it feel again as if you where taken pictures with a camera. It is a welcomed feature.

Excellent phone that now replaces my iPhone

I think it is best or one of the top phones on market right now. I was fascinated by Xperia Z which my best friend obtained this summer. So I bought this Z1 and absolutely happy with it (had iPhone before).

1. 4G.
I have T-mobile and 4g works with it. The phone has pretty good connection most of the time network is accessible.

2. Sturdy.
The phone was severely fallen to concrete floor for 2 times. No cracks or any scratches on the glass sides. Small scratches on a flank side but no dents or deformations. I'm happy it is so sturdy (or I'm so lucky)))

2. Camera.
It takes good looking pictures even in tough exposition conditions like sunsets, background illumination etc. Can't say it is much better than iPhone 5 camera but I find it generally better. Night pictures have high iso noise. Focus has been improved after the last update.

3. USB.
I really enjoy the fact that if I plug the phone to pc by common micro-usb cable it may be detected as a simple storage. No stupid iTunes (You can install sony app from the phone if so you WANT. But you don't have to. At all).

4. Sync, Charge and Watertight flaps.
I sync the phone by wireless and use dock station Sony DK31 Cradle to charge it. So I don't open watertight flaps at all.

5. Water.
I haven't taken any photos under water yet but I did call the phone in spa bath and got the phone under rain. Also once it was in sand. No problems. Since that I like the idea that I can receive a call if I'm interrupted in a shower))

6. Software.
I've found much of the Sony software useless. Can't say it is bad nor good I just get used to other apps. Android has a giant apps market with a lot of alternatives.

7. Hardware.
The hardware is pretty fast. I haven't found any slow running or laggy application or game yet.

8. Battery.
As all slim smartphones with high-end hardware you have to put the phone on charger often. It takes 1 day or less to discharge in normal mode. 2.5 - 3 days in stamina mode. 1.5 - 2 days in normal mode with battery saving soft installed. I'm sure it will worsen when the battery exhausted in 1-2 years.

9. Screen.
Pretty sharp. I've found it good but not exceptional. I mean it is good, bright and sharp for reading, surfing, gaming. But pictures on my old iPhone are looking the same good as on calibrated LCD. Pictures on Z1 looks worse than on PC. I know the description is very subjective, but that is what I can say. Video works fine.

10. As a player.
I REALLY like that I can download any player from market and listen possibly ANY file format. WITHOUT iTunes. After 3 years of using iDevices I couldn't get used to it. I mean, managing my library by folders, putting music to phone by simple copying what I need and WHERE I need is much much more convenient for me than using iTunes.

11. Sound quality.
I compared Z1 output with V90-HPA headphone preamp using Sure 535 earphones. Surprisingly the difference is not so big at all. Z1 sounds brighter while V90 sounds softer and deeper. But there is NO such a gap like between laptop internal sound card and V90. I would be really impressed if the phone sounded better. But... I'm still impressed with the comparison.

FINALLY...
I'm happy I have it. I would recommend it among all the other devices of the same class that are currently on the market.

I do a lot of photography for my work, using a Canon dslr and two Nikon compacts. For two weeks now I also use my new Xperia Z1, that turns out to be good enough for a lot of shooting and that is very easy to carry arround.
It is the first camera I ever had that you can even use as a phone :-)

Like many of you I have been reading all of these "reviews" from people who don't own the device and was unsure on what to do and what I'd be receiving.

First of all I ordered from Global Mobiles, whom I contacted twice before ordering. Both questions were answered in minutes. Phone same sealed in OEM box. There was also another box that included an adapter to convert the EU plug to US, directions on how to change language to English and instructions on how to setup APN to get HPSA+ speeds. Those weren't quite correct. If you're only getting edge speeds make sure to apply the following settings:

This phone simply put is amazing. I like iOS and I now have come to like Android. I don't see one phone as better. They both are great in their own ways. However, if like me you've been using iOS since 2007 or even the last year. The galaxy 3 definitely provides a breath of fresh air.

I won't get into specs. There is no lag what so ever on the device and it is very fluid.

As far as S-Voice. For the person that said it only comes in German. I can kind of see their complaint. When you first turn the device on you can set the language to English. However, when you launch S-Voice. It is still in German by default and you have to click the right arrow through several screens of German text before you can change the language. Typically the right arrow is ok/accept, so I was able to guess my way through it. Realistically though one would assume you only need to set the language once so I don't blame them. Again you can set S-Voice to English as well as other languages.

The 4.8 inch screen is beautiful. Having an iPhone and iPad 3, I find this screen large enough to serve both purposes. I can comfortably browse, watch videos as well as read books.

The browser is great as well. The larger screen again helps and it is nice that you can take advantage of flash.

The rear camera uses the same parts as the iPhone 4S so expect similar quality. However, the camera has a ton of settings. Almost as many as stand alone cameras. The front camera on the S3 is higher quality and very crisp. One thing that I hadn't heard mention of was the LED flash. BE CAREFUL. In a completely dark room I literally temporarily blinded myself. In that respect it blows the iPhone 4S away in my opinion so I did get better night pictures.

I didn't want to get too technical as for many they're just looking for a great screen, fluid OS and great browser / camera. If you have other questions let me know.

I didn't think there would be a faster or better android phone than the Note. I got this this afternoon. Cut down my Sim to a micro...stuck it in and zoom. Quandrant was 5476. ICS is so fluid and easy. TouchWiz is amamzing also. This is quad core and it is hard to keep up with. The only thing I have noticed so far is when you push the home button it really seems to lag to get back to the home screen. Maybe haven't tuned up all the settings though. I played with the One X at ATT. The real difference is the sound on the SIII is LOUD and clear. Plus, the fact of having an SD card and replaceable battery was the no brainer decision for me. The only other real problem with this and the One X is that in six months, or less, they will be outdated. Oh Yes, S Voice takes longer than Siri, but the replies seem to in more detail. Get it if you are an android fan and you will positively enjoy it.

Still buggy

I'm an Android advocate and was a happy user of the Samsung Infuse. I was excited about upgrading to the S3. The reviews convinced me to make the switch. I've had the phone for about a week and although I think it has some wonderful features, there are just too many glitches. Here are the two main issues I've encountered:
1. It seems impossible to connect the phone to a PC or a Mac. I tried to connect the phone to several PCs, and I always received an error message about the computer being unable to install a driver. This seems to be a widespread issue: googling this problem turns up many complaints in various forums. I also tried to connect the phone via the Samsung Kies program that comes in a Mac version, and that also failed. This is a pretty basic thing that you want to do with your phone. It's unacceptable that it doesn't work. I spent quite a few hours on the phone with Samsung tech support. I discovered that if I revert the phone back to factory default, it can connect to my PC. But once I've used it and installed a very few apps, connectivity is lost.
2. Less of an issue, I think it's resolved. However, shortly after getting the phone, it was unable to connect to the internet. I tried all solutions to the problem, but couldn't resolve it. Then, mysteriously, several hours later connectivity resumed.
I'm always nervous about being an early adopter, and I think in this case those who rush out to get this phone are going to suffer inconvenience as these bugs are resolved.

PS I finally returned the phone, and this one is able to connect to my PC and my Mac. I was careful to connect the phone and install the drivers right out of the box, before setting up any accounts or downloading any apps. It's also a different sim card. Who knows if it was a hardware issue or something involving the configuration of my phone.

Great Phone, but buy from Google Play Store!

So about 2 weeks ago Nexus 5 users received the 4.4.2 update, it brought many small improvements but the greatest being improving the camera. It shoots very clear shots now, the camera app opens quicker and the camera takes a lot less time to focus. If the camera was something that turned you away from the Nexus 5, then come back because the issue has been fixed. Google says they will keep working on the camera to make it even better.(Stay tuned for any other updates)

A Snapdragon 800 Quad-Core Processor clocked at 2.3 Ghz? A Adreno 330 GPU, all these sound to good to be true! Such great specifications at such a low price? But, nothing matters if there is no applicable real world performance, and I'm glad to say that you will be zipping through games and apps!
Here are some Pros and Cons:
Pros:
-Phone feels great in the hand, not to big or not to small
-Great Build Quality, better than phones that use plastic like the LG-G2 or S4 (It uses the grippy plastic found on the 2013 Nexus 5)
-Buttery Smooth and Fast as Lightning, this phone is that fastest phone I have ever used, hands down
-Pure Stock Android (Kit-Kat 4.4)
-You get updates as soon as they roll out! No waiting for months to get the next version of android

Cons:
-Because it only packs a 2300 mh battery, it does ok for daily use, but don't expect to get any crazy battery life, (Standby time is amazing though, it sipped through only a 1% of battery through the whole night!)
-Camera is decent, but video quality is great! The mic is the best I have seen on any smart phone, (A software update may improve camera)
-Availability, I love this phone, but getting your hands on one can take a bit, but please believe me, it is worth the wait!
-Speaker is just all right, it sounds OK but not great

The phone is very beautiful and slick and Android Kit Kat (4.4) has a very clean touch to it.
The phone's camera takes a few seconds to focus, so this phone isn't suitable for people who want to snap quick pics.

Too legit!

I wish Google had had this item in stock, as this costs more than retail. That said, it arrived a day earlier than it was slated to, and it works perfectly. Broke my Galaxy S4 and needed a new phone mid contract. Very comparable and it feels kind of exclusive because it's technically a 'developer device'. The packaging had tape all over it, as if it had been previously opened, but no sign of anyone doing that. I just like mint packaging. 100% satisfied with my purchase.

Nice phone, but VERY limited memory for storing apps - microSD use doesnt help

This phone has lovely features worthy of a competitor to samsung etc.

4G/3G data is fast on Tmobile where they have 1900Mhz coverage, but WONT work at 4G/3G where Tmobile operate only at 1700Mhz. Best to check Tmobile's 4G/3G coverage map before buying this phone, otherwise you'll get slow 2G speeds only at 1700Mhz-only areas (this phone doesnt work at 1700Mhz, hence the 2G speeds). Works well on at&T, and Lyca mobile (uses Tmobile for 2g/3g/4g coverage).

Battery life is very good, around 12 hours with calls and data use during the day.

The dual sim functionality works well, with a blue-green color scheme for indicating which carrier is being used.
Wifi is OK, Bluetooth OK. Processing speed OK.

You CANT upgrade the factory installed version of android (4,1) to any of the later android versions.

Screen is large and bright, the back camera OK although pictures are somewhat grainy and pixelated when using the flash in indoor use.

Altho the phone comes with a basic rubber-type protector, its almost impossible to get a case for this phone. Only one supplier in the US seems to sell spare batteries.

THE BIG FLAW:
Sadly, despite these wonderful features, the phone has a MAJOR flaw that is not revealed in the specs. Although the specs say 2GB of storage, actually after the android operating system etc is installed, you ONLY have 512MB of storage to load apps AND data for apps that cant use a micro SD card. That is, some apps like Gmail need to be in the root of the phone and cant be stored (app itself and its data) on a micro SD card. You thus can only add a few apps to this phone in total. Gmail stops working if the mailbox gets too full as there is no space to download mail. While some apps can be stored on the micro SD card, you'll only know that this alternate storage is possible when you try downloading that app to the phone: it either stores on the micro SD card or not. If the internal memory is full, you'll have to delete other apps or not install it at all.Skype doesnt work at all, and doesnt even install as there is an error message.

In other words, you'll never know whether you can install ALL your favorite apps on the phone, as the limited 512MB internal app storage memory halts the ability and the micro SD storage option isnt certain.

The more expense Blu phones like the Life One have more internal app storage, so if you need apps, best to forgo buying this phone and spend extra on the Life One.

Blu support in Florida is very good. They respond to email quickly and are very helpful over the phone.

I bought this phone for my son, as he liked the huge screen of the Note 2. Well my bank account said, no way to the price of a note 2 without contract. I purchased the
Blu Studio 5.0 for him, popped in a T-mobile 30.00 a month prepaid sim, and WOW. This phone does everything you need it to. It does not have an S pen of course. The 3G on it is fast, the wifi works great for all his games, the play store has all the android apps you could ever want or need. It is super light weight, that is what made me skeptical to start with, as I believed that it may have been a sub par phone. Not at all. The camera took great pics and it has a front facing camera for "selfies".
The battery seems to hold a long charge, I know this because my son plays lots of games from the app store on it. He charges at night and ready to go after school (after responsibilities and homework of course)until bedtime...BTW my son is only 11 years old.

All in all we have had the phone for about 3 months now and no issues at all. I am please with the phone and its performance.

ONLY CON!!!
NO CASES MADE FOR THIS PHONE!! Come on Blu!!! It does come with a thin rubber back case, but this is only to protect the back from scratches when its put down or slid across a surface. I purchased a Note 2 screen protector for him and cut it to fit as the glass is NOT the gorilla glass as on most newer model smartphones.
For the price, you CAN NOT GO WRONG with this one if you like a huge screen.

Seriously, this phone was awesome before I rooted it but it's even better now because it was rooted. The internal memory was my only issue and now it's not. I love my blu studio 5.0 LOVE IT.
