5ASUS M11AD-US006O
By Bryan Feldman
I selected this computer for speed and reliability. Since it was to be used primarily for software development, I didn't need a graphics card. And I definitely didn't want Windows 8. So far (after about a week) I am very satisfied.

When the computer arrived it was well packaged. I opened it up to make sure everything was intact and seated securely; it was. Inside this computer is simple and neat with well-routed wires and lots of open space.

The computer has the Core i7-4770S processor running at 3.10 GHz, not 3.4 as stated, and 16 GB (15.7 usable) RAM. It includes Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit SP1. It has a 2 TB hard disk which is divided into two partitions: WIN7 (C:) which has 745 GB usable and DATA (D:) which has 1.07 TB available and comes completely empty.

It comes with some Asus bloatware, some of which run at startup and you may want to disable. Some of the apps may be useful but I have not looked into them yet. This computer includes Bing Bar which states it will collect information about you and you must agree in order to accept the Windows license agreement. And it includes McAfee Internet Security 2012 edition with a one-month subscription.

Initial setup is straightforward and smooth. Once it's complete, you have an option of making a system image backup, which worked well, used four DVDs and took about two hours. First thing I did after that was to remove the Bing Bar and install a non-Microsoft browser.

It has two front USB 2.0 ports and four rear. I would have liked more but I use a small, unpowered hub to attach more stuff. It also has two USB 3.0 ports in the rear. One in the front would have been useful for external hard drives. Note the image of the back of the computer shown on this page is not the correct one and the features pictured there vary significantly from this PC; you can download the documentation from the Asus website to see what it really looks like. The PC is quiet except for a somewhat noisy hard drive, but I am comparing it to my old system; it had an SSD which of course is silent.

The motherboard-based Intel 4600 graphics has 1.75 GB of RAM, supports two HD monitors with Aero Glass, and performs well for my non-gaming use. Also built in is Realtek High Definition Audio. It has a 350-watt peak, 286-watt continuous power supply.

Here's the key point about this computer: it is FAST. Really, really fast. Large programs like Eclipse ADT and Photoshop load amazingly quickly. Big software projects compile in half the time they used to or less even though my prior machine was not slow. The Windows Experience Index gets a 5.9 overall score with the primary hard disk data transfer rate scoring lowest (5.9), graphics scoring 6.7, and RAM and processor scoring a lovely 7.7.

It came with a keyboard and mouse which I did not use and so cannot comment on. The case feels solid and well-made and is handsome and not too big.

Any more questions, please ask and I will add them to this review.

By Chris C. Mills
I really like my new computer with Windows 7!! It's so much faster and more efficient than my last computer. I was very happy to find a new computer that still had Windows 7 available. Windows 8 is very confusing. Windows 7 works much better.

5Great Case for my Kindle HDX!
By Travel Fan
I received my case before receiving my HDX, but I was immediately impressed with the color, quality, and brilliance of the whole magnet system. It does not feel cheap to me in any way. I have since received my HDX and have had several days to try it out with the Origami case. On the first day, I did have issues with it putting my device to sleep when I would fold the cover all the way back, so I can see how this would be a severe problem. However, I had read in one of the earliest reviews that the reviewer had eliminated this issue by setting the timeout feature (where it causes your lock screen to come on if no activity is detected within a certain amount of time) to NEVER. I realize that this would not be acceptable to those of you who want the screen to lock after a certain amount of inactivity, but in my case, I always close the cover if I am not going to use it for a bit anyway, so it doesn't matter to me personally. After doing this, I did not have that issue occur again, even though I used my HDX frequently over several days with the cover folded back. I also read that some were experiencing floppiness with their covers. I have not experienced that particular issue yet. I have used the cover as a stand in both landscape and portrait modes and it was quite sturdy, even when I used the touch screen. I can only say that I have been very happy with my Origami case and would highly recommend it. I have noticed there are some other cases out there that are cheaper, but they either can't be used as a stand, or in portrait mode, or their reviews don't instill me with a desire to try them.

5Great concept and design, takes getting used to
By FreeSpirit
I was looking forward to the Origami case given its unique design and ability to stand in vertical and horizontal positions. So far, I am pleased with it though still getting used to the folding mechanisms. It feels like a natural extension of the Fire HDX. Quick thoughts on the case so far:

PROs

1. DESIGN - Sleek design, adds very little bulk. The back is a plastic shell and the front is a polyurethane flap.
2. MAGNETS - Basic premise of the case is magnets. The device sticks to the case with magnets (stays secure), front flap folds all the way back (for one-handed reading) and stays in place with magnets, and the stands work with magnets.
3. SLEEP MODE - Closing the flap automatically triggers sleep mode on the device, opening it turns it back on. The Kindle doesn't make a sound when it locks under the flap. I'm still trying to figure out if there's a setting I can change to get the device to give me an audible that it locked. I guess I"m just used to it.
4. BUTTONS - Has embedded volume +/- and power buttons that sit on top of the device buttons. Easy to operate through these rubberized buttons.
5. ACCESS - Convenient access to charging port as well as the headphone jack. Speakers are covered but there is enough of a gap to keep sound quality intact. I tested sound quality with and without the case, there seemed to be no degradation.
6. STANDS - Stands work in various positions. I care only about three - portrait, landscape for videos (steeper angle), and landscape for typing (lower angle). The magnets engage all three stands securely.

CONs

1. STANDS TAKE GETTING USED TO - The stands and folding mechanisms take some getting used to. I looked at the product pictures here several times to fold the case the correct way. Now after a few attempts, it's easier to engage the stand.
2. PROTECTION - The left side of the case feels a little unprotected initially. But looking at it closely, the edges are protected by the back of the case as well as the front flap. This raised part seems like a deliberate design to service two purposes - keep speakers open and not muffle the sound with the back shell, and give access to the headphone jack on top and charging port at the bottom.

Overall I am pleased with this case. I also got the $20 Marware case as a cheaper alternative. I like that one too but I think I will mostly be using this Oragami case because it looks and functions better.

-------

UPDATE - I just noticed that there was a leaflet included with the case packaging that displays a quick three-step process to fold the stand. I wish I had seen it earlier, I wouldn't have had to repeatedly look at online pictures here. Remember to keep this leaflet for the first few days, it comes handy.

1case closed
By Regina M Sword
I really wanted to like this, but I think it's just a faulty design. Whenever I folded it back, as for reading, it repeatedly put the Kindle to sleep. I returned it, got a replacement, and five seconds later my Kindle was off to dreamland again. I'm done; it's going back.

I think if they had described this as simply a STAND, they might have been on to something. Alas, I want a case.

5Great keyboard/cover for Coby Kyros MID7024 & easy fixes for other reviewer's complaints
By Stephanie L
NOTE: THIS DOES NOT WORK WITH ANY KINDLE PRODUCT AS FAR AS I KNOW - PLEASE DO NOT ASK ME QUESTIONS ABOUT KINDLES OR KINDLE FIRES AS I DO NOT OWN ONE. THIS IS A REVIEW FOR THIS KEYBOARD COVER WITH A COBY KYROS - I DO NOT OWN OTHER E-READERS AND CANNOT OFFER ADVICE ON THOSE PRODUCTS!

I bought this after reading many reviews on here and noting that many people said it worked with Coby Kyros. Shipping was FAST! I got it in 4 days with two of them being weekend days. The case is nice and sturdy, great hardcover protection. I was aware it came with the keyboard and plug, and that I would have to use my adapter that came with my Coby Kyros, but it was a pleasant surprise to find a stylus was also included and that there is a nice holder for that and for the cord that holds the plug for the keyboard.

Many people have mentioned this case does not fit their 7-inch tablets, but there is a VERY EASY fix. Before placing your tablet into the 3 prongs, first bend the prongs downward (toward the case backing) a little further than they are currently seated. I did this and my 7-inch Kyros (which originally just slipped right in) now fits snugly in the 3 holders. I even held it over my bed and vigorously shook the case up and down while it was open and my tablet never fell out or even slipped at all. It's much easier and less "messy" than one other reviewer's suggestion of using Velcro - and much easier to get the tablet in and out this way.

Finally, when I first connected my adapter that came with my tablet to the keyboard adapter I was very disappointed that nothing happened. I tried several different browser pages, mashed all the buttons on the keyboard, clicked on the Function key and snooze button twice in case it was in sleep mode, etc. but nothing happened. I finally kept reading reviews on here and noticed on about page 3 or 4 that someone mentioned they changed their USB settings and their keyboard finally started working. So, I immediately went to my Settings, Advanced Settings, and then USB BUS MODE and changed it from DEVICE mode to HOST mode and VOILA - the keyboard immediately started functioning. Not only that, but I can have it connected or not connected and both the external keyboard and my device keyboard still function normally. For anyone that hooks it up to their tablet and thinks it is not actually working - please try this and it might save you the time and hassle of sending it back to the manufacturer.

I have so far been able to browse faster, type more quickly and get through many more screens faster using this keyboard and cover than I was ever able to do with my fingers and stylus with the tablet and device keyboard in the past. I am going to LOVE this purchase!!

4How to fix USB not recognizing keyboard problem
By L. Price
For those who can't get their keyboard recognized by their tablet, this person's review also fixed my problem. Quoted below..... and the first thing you need is a usb to mini usb converter (check your connection type), which I ordered on Amazon for only $1.35.

"When I first connected my adapter that came with my tablet to the keyboard adapter I was very disappointed that nothing happened. I tried several different browser pages, but nothing happened. I read reviews on here and noticed on about that someone mentioned they changed their USB settings and their keyboard finally started working. So, I immediately went to my Settings, Advanced Settings, and then USB BUS MODE and changed it from DEVICE mode to HOST mode and VOILA - the keyboard immediately started functioning. For anyone that hooks it up to their tablet and thinks it is not actually working - please try this and it might save you the time and hassle of sending it back to the manufacturer."

Thank you for this fix

5NOT COMPATIBLE WITH KINDLE FIRE!
By Larry Lambert
The keyboard is really good so I was HUGELY disappointed when I found out it is incompatible with my Kindle Fire! The keys are wide and I can use my big old gorilla knuckle-draggers on it with no problem. The stylus is garbage but the case looks good for a faux leather. Where am I going to find a compatible keyboard for the FIRE?..... I recommend this product for the tablets it is compatible with. For the price there is none better!

5What a PERFECT large Phone and Mini Tablet Combo it works wonderfully! A detailed review!
By Daisy S
This is just what I was searching for as it is a tablet and an 100 percent GSM UNLOCKED phone! I have used and tested thoroughly and found that it does have so many overall advantages. So as a techie, I tested this phone/tablet out to great lengths and below I will list what I have found to be the Pros and Cons of this amazing device. *This is a excellent choice in an ALL IN ONE device. For me, I use it as my primary phone with no contract plan that includes minutes and a small data plan. (Most of the time, I am on WiFi for the internet but I need my minutes to make and receive phone calls etc).
Also I want to state that the phone accepts a MICRO Sim card, not a regular full sized Sim. Since I had an old Samsung Tab 2 3g with a regular Sim, I just removed my old Sim Card from the older tablet phone and cut the Sim with a Micro Sim cutter, placed it into my Tab 3 phone/tablet and my data was there, my minutes were there, worked great!
Also this tablet installed an update to the OS from December 2013 and this tablet phone runs so fast now!

If you are looking for: a lightweight combo phone and tablet that is very easy to hold in one hand comfortably and you want a basic and easy to use tablet, then consider this tablet. While it does not have every bell and whistle installed on it, it is a good choice for: Checking emails, Getting Online, Looking at Pictures, Watching Home Movies. And as a bonus, if you request it, I will share with you how to get Archived Flash so you can watch online videos on the tablet. And I encourage you to ask me questions in the comments (should you have a question) about this tablet and I will answer all questions. Here are the Pros and the Cons below.

PROS:

1- WiFi connects easily and the signal is good in most places I tested. And I received a STRONG WiFi signal on this device.
2- The advantage of having a SD card slot that will hold up to 64GB.
3- Small and lightweight. Comfortable to carry around and place in backpack or briefcase easily.
4- Micro USB Port - This is common in most tablets these days, but the older Tab 2 line did not have micro port but the propriety wider port.
5- Screen clarity - For me, I found this screen easy to read eBooks on and view internet pages.
6- I had a Tab 3 7.0 WiFi only and sold it to a friend, bought this one and find that it is a much better tablet.

CONS:
- Low internal storage - this tablet comes with 8GB internal storage (advertised). Because the OS takes up room, apps etc, take up room, the tablet just has about 4.7GB in the internal storage. This is not good because when you install an app from the Playstore, it goes onto your internal storage not on the External SD card. (The external SD card is meant for personal files such as your music, photos, home movies, etc).

**The GOOD NEWS IS: If you do not install a lot of huge games onto this tablet, you will probably do just fine with this storage.

- Minor Heat after downloading, games – Under normal conditions (when not running intense games or downloading files etc), this tablet runs very cool. It did get up to 102 degrees ONCE when I downloaded lots of apps from the Playstore, but then it went back to a low 80 degrees after that. This is normal though for this particular tablet, not a cause for any alarm.

Bottom line and Summary:

Would I buy this phone tablet all over again? Yes in a heartbeat! If you are looking to buy a LARGE PHONE that you can use as a MINI TABLET, this is the one that I recommend to you as I love mine!
Since I am a techie, you can ask me any questions in the comments under this review.

5Handy Little Computer / Phone
By BazTyd
Perfect size for portable internet browsing, yet still maintain phone / texting capailities. Also purchased a keyboard case for it, and nothing like being able to carry a laptop in your back pocket, and still keep in contact with others. Based off the popular Galaxy S series, the 4.1.2 operating system has a bonus of not being locked to carriers bloatware.
Would avoid this seller though ...

5Great mouse, great price
By K. Suarez
I was skeptical of this mouse because of the low price. I took a chance on it and I am extremely pleased. This isn't just a good mouse for the price, but a good mouse period. I like for the mouse to be a little bigger - I find that small mice (i.e. portable laptop style) make my fingers and hand ache after long periods of use. This mouse is a good size and I feel like I'm simply resting my hand on top of it. The ergonomic design is a positive as well. I have never used an ergonomic mouse, always opting for the standard shape. It didn't take long to get used to and I feel like I have better control over the pointer. The location of the wheel and side buttons are very good, but the additional 3rd and 4th buttons below the wheel are a little tricky to press. Not really an issue for me, but some gamers may want to consider this. Lastly, set up was easy - simple plug and play. It comes with some software that allows you to edit what the buttons do, but I have no real need for it. 5/5 stars. Highly recommended!

5Great Gaming Mouse!
By Jacob B Larson
This mouse resonates performance from the time you open the box. The braided cable is built for endurance and the heavy use that PC gaming puts on equipment. It is very ergonomically designed, the arc of the mouse fits perfectly into the palm and the two grips placed on the sides allow for precision control even during long gaming sessions. The programmable buttons allow the user to customize for any game on the market whether it be League of Legends or Call of Duty. The ability to change speeds by a push of a button make the learning curve for this product very easy to manage. Just set the speed from your previous mouse and you are good to go. Being a customer that has used Razer and Steel Series mice before, this mouse has the same high performance qualities for a much better price.

5One of the best values in gaming mice you'll ever find!
By Thomas M. Rogers
This is so much more mouse than the price indicates. Great feel, nice heft, and easy to use software for button macros. Even if, like me, you prefer having 3 buttons on the side, there is no reason to pay more for a "standby" emergency gaming mouse. One of the best values in PC peripherals I've ever enjoyed.

5Fits good and works well
By Chris Geiger
I purchased this for my Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 7.0 Tablet. It fits great, works well. It has openings for both the front and rear camera. Cuts out in the material allow for easy access to the charge / data port, micro sd card, volume, powe headphones and speakers. It also has a small stylus/pen holder integrated into the top. Flap flips around to hold tablet upright on a table for easy viewing. I use it every day and after a month there are no signs of wear. Outside seems to be real leather. Inside is soft microfiber material that won't scratch. I can definitely recommend this.

5Very nice orange color, durable construction, you won't believe you ever lived without the hand strap.
By Sherry R. Melancon
I just upgraded from the original tab 10.1 to the Note 10.1. I had my tab 10.1 for years, and I had a silicone amzler jelly case for it, and a Samsung branded slim form fitting case. I had peeves with both, and switched back and forth frequently depending on which peeve I wanted to avoid. The Amzler Jelly was nice, but didn't have any stand or screen protection. The Samsung case was incredibly slim and sleek, and had a nice magnetic catch, but it didn't have a cutout for the charger when it was closed(???) and the back of the case flopped around and got in the way when it was open.

I went ahead and ordered two cases for my note 10.1. This one, and an amzler jelly. This case is so convenient and comfortable that the jelly skin will likely only be used in narrow circumstances.

When you open it, the hand strap makes the tablet into an extension of your off hand. It has a second elastic strip to secure the folded back to the front so that you don't have to worry about the thing flopping open while you have it secured to your hand. It folds into a nice stand easily, and has a cut out for the charger. It feels like a nice leather folio in your hands, and it has a striking look. I got the orange, and it isn't a bright "look at me" orange. It's a very dignified and classy orange.

The stitching is precise and sturdy, and everything lines up where it should. The tablet is secure in the case. It has a little loop for putting a second pen. The S pen is amazing, but it has quite a learning curve...so sometimes I want the simplicity of a regular touch pen, so I keep a nice one there.

Cons:

The back flap has no camera cut out for when it is folded open, so to use the rear camera, you must have the cover open and hanging. They would have needed to reinforce the area around the clasp to fix this, but I believe it would have been worth it.

In addition, when you use the second elastic strap to secure the cover during hand strap use, the elastic band covers the front camera.

It is well protected from corner drops on 3 of 4 corners. The necessary S-pen cutout leaves one corner unprotected, though to be fair, I really don't see any way around that.

5Excellant computer
By Sharon A Thomas
I am very satisfied with this processor. It meets all of my needs, especially having a Windows 7 operating system similar to XP like I'm used to instead of Windows 8 which I can't get used to at all. I just didn't realize that it came with a keyboard and mouse and I had ordered another set. I like the compact size with easily accessible usb ports but the black keyboard is a little hard for me to see the letters or numbers. Overall I love it though paired with a nice 21 inch flat screen with excellant digital display.

5I am a ASUS Convert
By appaloosa
This ASUS CPU is exactly what I needed to replace my pricey, but out of date Dell that had an Windows XP operating system. It gets the job done and luckily was easy to set up, as I love my armoire desk and needed this shape CPU. Not familiar with the brand except for seeing my grandkids using theirs. Only thing I see as a negative is the cd slot is difficult to access when I have something plugged into the USB ports right above. Luckily my monitor has 2 ports that make this situation better. Changing to Windows 7 has been a learning process, but much easier than I expected. I definitely have very little technological training so appreciate this unit making my life easier, not more difficult. Senior citizens like me do not like change, but I have read enough to know Windows 7 would be a good alternative. and it is!

By K. Geddings
I got this myself for christmas but after reading some of the reviews and issues with problems with it i decided to take it out of the box and try it out for an hour or so tonight just to make sure none of the "out of the box issues" that a few people were having did not happen, after all it would be terrible if i opened it up christmas and it had major issues, as my family will be there and more family coming in that weekend. It seems the vast majority of issues with the Nexus 7 has been out of the box.

So i opened it up tonight, charged it up. took about only 2 hours to charge it to 99 percent which was pretty nice. I updated to the latest android version right away (4.4.2 which just came out last night) and then installed two of the test apps that people have been using the GPS test and a multi-touch test app. (as that app is able to directly see any phantom touches or incorrect touch issues) i ran the touch app for a bit, no issues, it picked up on my touch with many fingers, no extra taps were shown at all. I then used the GPS test app , (after i disabled wifi so that it would only pick up my location through the GPS) while in my house it took a few seconds longer then in some videos to pull up the GPS and it had a not so great accuracy but that was inside the house.....so good enough. when i went outside with it and took a walk from my house to my church (which is a few blocks and under a pretty tree filled path) it did fine with no drops and around 10-15 feet accuracy on average (walking not in car)

Some people have said the brightness of the nexus 7 is too bright in low light. i turned it all the way down (as it was very dark outside) and i did not feel it was overly bright at all, felt just right. I ran a little risk taking it outside without a case (as i would get the case before christmas) but i had no trouble holding it and it did not feel like it wanted to come out my hands at all as long as i was careful.

I ran the GPS app for about 30 mins total without any drops.

I am into photography not as a pro but just as a way to express myself and connect with others. I had a Canon DSLR but downgraded to a powershot 110 HS as i wanted something smaller and that camera does very well for the price. Some have said that the camera in the nexus 7 wasnt all that great. i took a few test shots ( even a few in low light outside) and i think the quality is very good. In some cases it may overexpose things but overall it was able to produce realitively sharp and clear images that would be just fine on the 7 inch screen and look pretty good on a larger monitor.

Video quality was good too but..it may have been the low lighting in my room or something but i found the video clips i took were a bit laggy for some reason. the nexus 7 itself did not feel laggy otherwise, maybe it was just being not the best light or something. but i assume it would do good in better light during the day. But that is something to note. Picture quality is good but video quality may be hit or miss inside in lowish light. But for me thats not a big problem. I just wanted a small tablet that could take decent pictures and on that this wins, I think unlless you are a pro photographer or have a high end camera phone and just love it. For average pictures while you are out and about..say you just want to have "one" device that you can use without having to fiddle with another camera or cell phone camera this would do you fine.

The only thing i do not like is the camera app. it is simple enough unless you need to get into the settings with uses a weird circleish menu.......but no fear. there are a few good quality photo apps you can use with Android that replace the slandered camera app and if you are into pictures i would HIGHLY RECOMMEND you do that. I also liked that you could change the aspect ratio. i used 16:9 which does shrink the megapixels down a bit but looks much better when viewed back on the 16:10 nexus 7 screen and looks just fine on a 16:9 monitor.

there were a few shots i took that i thought were pretty impressive even without editing.

The screen is very nice its very easy to read text, i pulled up a free google book and had no trouble with that, pictures look very good on it and overall it just feels like a quality product.

I did not try any games on it just yet (saving that for christmas) but google maps and google earth seem to run fast and good on it.

I also did not have any restart or freezing issues in the hour or so i have used it. It turned off a few times but that was when i found out it was set to go to sleep in 2 minutes and some apps (Like the gps test app) will still cause it to sleep when used. So i recommend go into the settings and change the sleep mode to 30 minutes. and i think there are apps /settings that can tooggle which apps can and cant cause sleep mode to happen.

Battery usage seemed pretty good I used the nexus on about 1 hour and a half ish on just battery alone after charging to 99 percent and i took a few pictures some video clips and used the gps test app for about 30 minutes and came back after using itotal for about an hour and a half to 92 percent charge left

to me that is very good and if you dont use the gps and do other things i am sure it will last longer too.

I love the size and feel of the nexus 7 it just is small enough. its not too small and its not too big. My last tablet was the ipad 1 so this is a pretty good upgrade for me. I felt the ipad 1 for its time was a good tablet but its larger size and weight made it not so easy to carry around while walking to the church and showing things to people on foot with one hand and all. plus the ipad 1 has no cameras.

Holding it while out tonight just felt nice. but i would recommend getting a case for sure as it feels just a tad fragile carrying around without a case. but has a solid build and does not feel cheap at all

Oh and i forgot to say but the front facing camera is good enough. it took decent pictures of me in average indoor light in my room at night. so good enough in my opinion though the camera placement on the front is a bit odd but no problem.

I haven't even used half of the features of the nexus 7 yet. but i am very impressed and glad to see that it will work fine Christmas when i re-open it. I have not tested out the LTE yet (but that was not really something people have complained about)

I will update this later for more infomation when christmas comes around i just wanted to make sure there was no issues and problems out of the box. Oh and i had no problem with it finding my wifi connection, i know some people have said they had issues with wifi connection as well. felt solid and fast to me!

All and All this is one of the best tablets for the price i am sorry for those who had hardware issues but i got mine this past week from Google so maybe some of the newer batches directly from them have fixed some of those issues. I would say give it a chance it seems 9 times out of 10 this will be a flawless product!

I am glad i took the dive and know come christmas i will have a lot of fun and get a lot of use out of it!

So dont be afraid of the bad reviews some have posted on here, i say give it a chance and hopefully you will not be let down!

5Best of the Best
By Z Habib
Bought this item from Google Store so technically I'm only writing a review here because there isn't one of this product on Amazon.

So mine arrived back in October with T-Mobile sim card which I dont use. I wanted this device because I wanted to run Whatsapp on it hence I needed a SIM card tablet device and this one fit the bill perfectly. Plus I wanted a Google android, I knew KitKat was on its way, ASUS is a great brand and owning a Nexus is my dream.

The device is great. It runs smoothly, is very quick in performance. No lag time at all. There was no krap installed from before. I love the swype gesture and ofcourse KitKat 4.4 is already on my device since well over 2 weeks now.

The screen is amazing. The clarity, ufff! If the screen gets puggy i just wipe it off with my shirt and thats it! good as new! The back side can be cleaned off easily but since I purchase 2 rooCases (slimshell) along with this device, I dont really need to clean the back side.

This device also has a notification light which is uber awesome :)

If any of you folks need to know more, ask away. I may not be a verified amazon purchaser but i did buy the device from Google Store and love it to the very core.... hmm that actually rhymed ;)

4Verizon won't activate
By topaz_john
This is a great tablet, perfect in every way except that Verizon, the only carrier in my area, will not support it for LTE. Others have activated an older tablet and transferred the sim card to their Google Asus Nexus 7 which seems to work just fine. I paid extra for this tablet so I could access the stock market, weather etc. in remote locations without wifi but I'm the victim of some sort of competitive Google/Verizon turf battle. I'd recommend this very nice, well sized, and wonderfully detailed screen tablet with 5 stars if you can use ATT or Tmobile who will activate and support this newest generation of Google Nexus 7.
Feb 17, 2014..update..Verizon has apparently resolved any issues it had with my Google Asus 7 Tablet and I was able to activate it at the Verizon Store. This is an amazing tablet, just what I wanted and very versatile. 5 stars

5The best multi port hub that I have seen
By Timothy B. Riley
Watch Video Here: http://www.amazon.com/review/R2ICWPTUICOGD I travel often and need to take a portable office with me. As a professional presenter and it seems like I am always making changes to my presentations right up to the last minute. I bought a mini hub similar to this one because I got tired of working with a limited number of USB ports on my travel computer. I purchased an unknown brand from a local store and it would not support all of the devices that I needed. As soon as I received this one I recreated the same situation that failed with my cheap hub and everything worked just fine. The hub supported my portable hard drive, a memory card and reader, a USB memory stick and my GPS. I had no problem at all running all of these devices through this hub.

When my other hub failed I when to the store that I purchased it from and they told me to call the manufacturer. It was a no-name brand and I couldn't find a way to contact them. I have never had a problem with a product that I have purchased from Amazon that they hasn't made right. I expect that since their name is on this product they would certainly make sure that I was taken care of if ever this hub failed. That means a lot to me as a consumer.

54-Port Hub Does The Job....
By Jeff Kraus
There really isn't a whole lot to say about a USB hub. Obviously, as the description states, it supports up through the USB 2.0 standard. It's extremely lightweight and small, taking up about half the area of an average smartphone. It has a single amber LED that lights when power is reaching it.

The hub works flawlessly for me. Since it has no separate power supply, its ability to handle higher-powered devices that draw from the USB cable is limited to the port you are connecting it to.

(Edit 03/22/11) ---------
I'm seeing some other reviews that aren't entirely accurate regarding the unpowered nature of the hub, so it's worth expanding on. The USB hub can handle exactly as much power as the port that it is plugged into is capable of providing. For example, many keyboards have a USB port that can be used to plug in a mouse. Generally that is a low-powered port that is incapable of running a portable hard drive, charging an iPod, etc. Plugging the hub into that port would present the same limitations.

On the other hand, plugging the hub into a port directly on the computer's chassis is going to provide significantly more power to the hub. Higher powered devices such as a DVD burner, hard drive, etc. will work -- provided they work plugged directly into that same port the hub is plugged into. And if multiple devices are connected simultaneously, the power they draw combined must still be less than the maximum power available to the port.
--------

I tested the hub in both Windows 7 (64-bit) and Fedora 14 x86_64 Linux (on a dual-boot Dell Inspiron 15R) with no problems whatsoever. No drivers are required, so it's effectively a seamless addition to any system. Plugging in a USB memory stick or 500GB WD Passport portable hard drive resulted in the item in question being mounted exactly as if the hardware had been plugged in directly. A quick throughput test showed that the hub was perfectly capable of handling the 500GB Passport drive while it was playing a 720p high definition mp4 video.

I docked one star for the price, which at the time of this writing, is shown as more than double the price of other functionally equivalent mini-hubs such as the Belkin 4-Port Ultra Mini Hub and the Connectland CL-U2MNHUB-4B 4-Port USB Mini Hub. If the price goes down to something that is more in line with these other hubs, I will amend the rating.

Other than the price though, I found no issues with its build, functionality, or usability. If the cost comes down I can honestly, whole-heartedly recommend this hub.

*** Update 08/06/2012 *** The price has indeed gone down by more than 50% since this review. As such, I have amended the rating as promised. Oh, and the hub is still performing as it was when I originally posted the review.

3Problem when used with USB audio
By RKL
This hub seems to have a problem when an USB audio device is connected through it. If there's any electrical power line interruption (fridge starting), it causes a drop in the audio. For all other uses, it worked fine.

Honestly, many hubs seem to have this issue, including the Pluggable and CablesToGo ones. The Belkin and the one built into my Dell LCD monitor do not seem to have this problem. (I've bought a lot of hubs looking for a good one! I knew they exist bec my Dell LCD's built-in worked but I needed one for a different PC.)

It must be a matter of one chip set vs another but I do not know which chipset is in which hubs.

And yes, I do have some decent power filters / voltage regulators, but they don't respond quickly enough to short drops in voltage. (Online UPS would work fine but those things are noisy!!!)

5Bullet Proof!
By FES
Perfect fit that totally seals the HDX inside a cocoon of hard plastic, flexible rubber/silicone. All features work without interference from the on/off & volume buttons to the speakers.

Comes with a captive silicone screen protector that does not in anyway, alter or obstruct the excellent display (Retina who?). Feel free to use a stylus or your finger, but no extra pressure(or tapping) is needed for the touch screen to work for any function. I think it may even enhance the touch screen function, even though it's probably 4-6mils thick.

The only minor issue was that the flexible outer case locks in to the plastic so well, it was hard to get it apart. Think "Zip Lock", and just place a fingernail in the seam to start the process.

The inner case has the captive screen protector/frame and a hard plastic back. These two snap apart and you place the HDX between them and snap back together. The flexible, black silicone/rubber outer back case slips over the back of the inner case 'sandwich' and locks into a precise cut groove around the outside of the 'sandwich'. The top hard plastic cover also contains the 4-way stand and just snaps over everything.

Once you tablet is in, like other OtterBox products, it is not meant to come apart during use. Yes it adds a little bulk, but unless you use it to hammer nails, you need not fear mechanical damage.

While this won't save your HDX if your U-Boat is sinking, (the speakers, camera lens, mics are necessarily exposed behind recessed plastic "portholes"), it will protect it from almost anything else.

5Solid
By S. Mitchell
Solid, just like any other OtterBox. This product does have an integral screen protector, as you would expect. The listing wasn't clear on this point when I bought it, so I thought you might want to know. All buttons and ports are covered and the buttons and screen work as well in the case as the Fire HDX works without it. Someone else will have to test whether it's waterproof. Sorry.

5Best Case
By Vikki61762
First let me say that this is one of the best products you can buy to protect your Kindle Fire HDX. It give all around protection and sure it is alittle pricey but if you have bought any Otterbox in the past it has been more than your average case because it more than your average case. People complain that it's bulky or heavy well drop it with a cheap thin case and you will be asking why didn't I buy the otterbox. You want thin ten don't add a case take your chances.Don't complain about products for what they are because you should have know that BEFORE you bought it. It's not the products fault, its your fault. Get this case well worth the price.

4Eventually worth some frustrations
By Elmer M. Cranton
Caution: This hardware is powered only through the USB-2 port. USB-2 ports are notorious for being underpowered, especially on laptops or if not attached directly and closely to the computer motherboard, without a bridge, not a shared port, and not with an excessively long cable, etc. This may explain some of the problems reported by others. If your hardware and operating sysem match the manufacturers requirements, you may have no problems at all. Some users report a seamless and sucessful insatllion. Not the case with me, even with a good port and adequate power.

I had a frusrating time installing, but it eventually works OK and as as advertised.
I have a powerful desktop system, far exceeding manufacturer's stated requirements, operating under Windows 7 Professional, 64 bit version. After multiple attempts to install and connect with the device, I share the following.

The driver on the installation CD was out of date. After a failed installation, uninstall, multiple attempts to reinstall,I found it necessary to uninstall totally, do use a registry clean utility to delete many registry entries not removed and not deregistered by uninstall, and start fresh with an updated driver downloaded from the manufacturer's website.

The following procedure eventually worked. DO NOT connect the VIDBOX to the USB cable until step 4 below.
1) download manufacturer's latest driver from online and install this first, before an anything else. Then reboot.
2) Check "Device Manager" to insure that "HT VIDBOX" is installed and working normally under "Sound, Video, Game Controllers."
3) Install software from CD that came with the product. Then reboot again.
4) Only after the above do you connect the USB-2 to the VIDBOX.

Hopefully, that will sucessfujlly get the VIDBOX connected to your computer video/audio input

The sound card or system sound settings may require adjustments to record the sound properly, without clicks, squeals, whirring sounds, etc., depending on your setup.

Do not open or use any other application on the computer while capturing and recording video or video may get jumpy.

Once sucessfully installed and connected, this product worked for me as advertised. In the "Advanced Editing" mode I found that the merge/render function was quite slow, even on a powerful system, and I could not find a way to save a DV-AVI file for editing with other software. The editor provided was not very intuitive and quite limited.

Despite that above comments, I do not know of another capture product that will perform as well, especially not at this price, so it may be worth any potential frustrations. And you may have no problems at all!

5Good Product
By Dave Jones
I received this product May 3rd. I had it working in about 5 minutes. It comes with all the necessary wires, one to connect to the vcr (rca cable) and one to connect via usb to your computer.

No need for a tv in the mix, just a pc, a vcr and the device in the middle.

The software installed easily and is simple to use.

I have already saved several old VHS tapes of family gatherings and such.

This is a good product.

5Honestech VHS to DVD 7.0 Deluxe
By John Cockrell
I have a ton of old VCR tapess that go back into the early 1990's and need to convert them to digital format for burning to DVD. My choices were to outsource this at $10 per tape, purchase a VCR to DVd recorder (about $210.00), or take a chance on software. For the cost of the program, I figured there was not much risk in trying the software first. The beginning of the installation process was ok, but the program did not work after registration. It appeared that another option was going to be necessary. However; I kept digging around, and determined that the driver for the interface (a little white box which comes with the software) between my VCR machine and the laptop did not come with the installation disk. Worse, this problem was not disclosed in the installation instructions, so luckily I was tech savy enough to eventually figure it out myself. Go to the product website, sift thru the various drivers available, and find the one that matches (Windows 7, 64 bit). After that drama for several days, the next thing was to learn to work the program. The simple burn to DVD option worked like a charm, but the Advanced, which gives you a lot of options on content, etc. took some more time to use.

Anyway, now I am very pleased with this product, and I enthusiastically endorse it, if you are willing to get in there and get your hands a little dirty figuring it out. By the way, I have already more than "paid" for the software, and have over 20 tapes that I have already converted over to my hard drive, and some to DVD. Also, you can work with them once on the computer, because it creates Windows Movie Maker file formats as one of the options.
