5Great charger for Apple products.
By Lee T. Sang
When I purchase an item like this I just want it to work as advertised and be solidly built. This New Trent charger doesn't disappoint on either part.

The first thing you should know is that the two USB ports are not equal. The top one is the one with more amperage while the bottom one has probably the same amperage as a PC's USB port. The reason I say that is because when I try to charge my iPad mini with the bottom USB port I get the same "Not charging" message I would get when I plug it directly into my PC's USB 2.0 port. Charging my iPhone 4 with the bottom USB port works just fine. Charging my iPad mini and iPhone 4 at the same time also works just fine.

This is a great upgrade for the iPad mini and a good alternative to Apple's own 10W charger. With the iPad mini's included 5W charger it took 3 hours and 15 minutes to charge from 28% - 100%. With this New Trent charger (in the top USB port of course) it only took 1 hours and 53 minutes to charge from 29% - 100%. That's about a 58% difference and the extra 1.25 hours is very noticeable.

There are situations where the size of the charger can prevent another AC plug from being plugged in when plugged into your wall outlet or extension/surge protector. For example, my wall outlet will not let me plug in two of these New Trent chargers at the same time. However, any normal sized plug (a cable that just ends in the 2 prongs with no power brick) will fit fine. Some big power bricks that have the prongs near the edge should work. Even the tiny charger that the iPad mini came with will fit fine. The charger has about 6/8" extra above the prongs when folded out and 5/8" extra below.

I really like the solid feel of the charger. The fold out prongs seem sturdy and really helps when you stuff it into your bag so it won't snag on anything or poke anything. Having two USB ports is great since you don't need to wait to charge your other device.

better than expected. Be aware each port has a different charge. Top for tablet including kindle fire. Bottom for Ipod etc.

5Charges anything with a USB cable. Has a 1 Amp Port and a 2.1 Amp Port
By Sharp1
This New Trent 10W 5V/2A Dual Port charger (IMP90C) will charge just about any device that has a USB cable. I have many mobile devices and tested this New Trent IMP90C charger on all of them. It charged the following: Galaxy Note 2, Galaxy S3, iPhone 4, iPhone 3G, original iPhone (2G), original iPad, Blackberry Curve 9900, and Motorola SD10-HD bluetooth headset.

There are two ports for charging. The bottom port is 2.1 Amp. The top port must be 1 Amp. Note: When I refer to the top and bottom ports, this is with the charger oriented with the printed wording on the case right-side up, so you can read them properly.

The charging amperage is not clearly marked on the device, nor on the box. I get different results charging different devices.

Testing Results:
Samsung Galaxy Note 2 - can charge on both ports.
Samsung Galaxy S3 - can charge on both ports.
iPhone 4 - can charge on both ports.
Blackberry Curve 9900 - only charges on bottom port.
iPad (1st Generation) - only charges on the top port.

So, depending on your device, you may be able to use either port, or just a single port for that device. Charging with the 2 amp port will be faster than charging with the 1 amp port. I was able to charge multiple devices at once, with no issues. Charging times seemed to be just as quick as OEM chargers.

The collapsible prongs are a plus. You can fold them in to save space when traveling.

Overall this an excellent wall charger. The only improvement I could recommend would be to label the ports so their power output could be more apparent.
