Super Easy Installation, TV looks like brand new picture
By Sean B
This lamp and housing arrived yesterday while I was at work. I told my wife I would install it when I got home. Turns out, she couldn't wait and had the old piece removed, the new item installed, and the TV working good as new when I showed up. She said it was as easy as loosening 3 screws on the access panel, removing the old housing, and plugging in the new.
I was a little leery about purchasing this item after reading reviews from other sellers of similar products. Horror stories of new/replacement bulbs burning out after a couple days or even just a few hours were plentiful. What sold me on this specific item, besides the great price, was the 1-year warranty.
Believe me, I will update this review the minute I have problems. For now, though, it's like having a brand new TV.
--- Sept 15, 2013 - UPDATE ---
Well, it has been 18 months and the bulb just went out in the middle of Sunday Night Football...somewhat spectacularly this time...with a loud pop. So the original bulb that came with the Mitsu TV lasted 3.5 years. I see I could pay $130 for an OEM replacement and hopefully get 3-4 years out of it. Or pay approximately $40 and get 1.5 years with the non-OEM brand. (I'm gonna buy 3 of these cheap ones and have a couple spares).
Hope this helps you all.

Bad Lamp...Great Support
By rdmcc
1. DO YOUR REASEARCH! Read the reviews from other buyers of this Lamp. I received the lamp very quickly from Bulb World. Installed it per instruction and 9 days later the lamp blew. And I mean blew. It sounded like a gunshot went off right behind the TV. After letting the lamp cool down, I pulled it and the center insulator that the filament runs through had literally exploded. There was even molten glass that found its way out of the lamp housing. After closer inspection of the replacement lamp and the orginal lamp (which lasted me just over 4 years, by the way) I noticed the replacement lamp was missing the little gray metal piece that seems to direct cool air flow over the center insulator/filament. Not sure if this is the cause of failure but, buyer beware.
Needless to say I pryed my wallet open and went direct to Mitsubishi Electraonics parts department and ordered a factory oem (non-refurbished) lamp. Granted it did cost twice as much as this one but, when I received it and compared it to the original, I found zero differences between the two. This lamp has been running for about 2 weeks now, now problems so far...knock on wood.
If you read the reviews, you will see that very few people submitted negative reviews for the "ShopJimmy" replacement lamp. Needless to say, I took the chance and may have gotten one of the few bad ones. Who knows. For that reason I gave the replacement lamp 1-star. I will however give Bulb World 5-stars for their customer service. They provided me with a full refund upon return of the bad lamp, no questions asked. They do stand by the 1 year warranty. Good job Bulb World.

This was the first time i ever had to buy a replacement lamp and amazon was the cheapest place I found the parts. it was easy to replace an my tv started working the way it was working when I first purchased. so I would recommend buy replacement lamps for your tv from amazon and I got it deliver home within 3 to 5 days. Overall I am a very satisfied customer.
