Audio cord is too short for Lenovo front audio
By Michael
This works very well but the 6" audio cord is too short for two different Lenovo computers having audio on front. Need 1' stereo extender cable from PCH Cables if your audio is more than 6" from your video.
I bought a longer HDMI cable when I saw that this device works; suggest you order it at the same time.
This device is powered by USB instead of needing a transformer; brilliant.
WISH I HAD BOUGHT TWO YEARS AGO; or whenever it came out.
If they re-engineer this with a longer cable, it should end with a 90 degree bend; less chance of bumping and damaging the cable and/or computer.

Awesome VGA to HDMI Convertor!!

Awesome VGA to HDMI Convertor!
I have an old HP 8600 laptop w/VGA and I wanted to play movies from my USB thumb drive to my Sanyo w/42" screen, with three HDMI slots and no VGA plug in. The main performance difference between VGA and HDMI is that HDMI transmits Video and Sound and VGA transmits only Video. This was a five minute hook up from computer to TV:
1. Plug in VGA female plug on convertor into male plug on computer.
2. Plug the USB plug on the Convertor into female USB port on computer .
3. Plug the sound plug into your computer
4. Plug a HDMI cable into the convertor box and the other end of the HDMI cable into the HDMI port on the TV
5. Select the correct HDMI port on your TV display screen
That's it, takes five minutes to hook up. The picture is perfect and the unit worked flawlessly. I have a 100 films on my Terabyte portable hard drive. I'll plug that in and I expect it to work flawlessly as well.
I also bought a 1.5 ft 3.5 male/female stereo audio cable ($5.00). My laptop earphone plug is on the side of my computer and the VGA USB stuff is on the back so I needed a short extension cable to go from the convertor short cable to my computer audio port.
I also bought a 15' VGA cable for $5.00 and that's the whole enchilada.
Hook up is five minutes and the USB plug on the convertor eliminates the bulky and completely unnecessary ac hook up on other computers.
This is a high quality kit. Buy it.
I love being able to use my computer to select what I want and have it work perfectly on the big screen. Makes it all so easy.

It REALLY worked
By David
Ordered on suspicion of other remarks but, could not locate anything like it locally anywhere NEAR the price. If the local had any suggestion. Even expedited the shipping to have it for the weekend. It arrived ON TIME and well packed. I was SIMPLE..unbox..setup my laptop...get HDMI cable attached to 42" Philips HDTV make the connections and setup laptop to mirror on the monitor, cycle the TV remote to the assigned HDMI and THERE IT WAS..picture then sound when I accessed the desired internet program. It was exactly as discribed and WORKED for over 3 hrs of internet programing. Those who had issues MUST be completely unfamiliar with their equipment..this was practically a no brainer...
