I'm guessing this is a new product, because I would have expected tons of reviews for a case this good. My wife's favorite color is red, and 99% of the red iPhone cases on amazon look tacky compared to the sleek and tasteful lines of the iPhone 5. This is the first red case I've seen that actually compliments the phone.
The brushed aluminum texture is gorgeous, and I love the matte red texture of the polycarbonate. The grip is very secure in my hand and should resist scuffs pretty well. The raised lip on the front allows for the phone to be set down on its face without any worry of it being scratched by the table's surface.
Would definitely buy again.

UPDATE 09/18/13: I just removed the Outfit Matrix from my iPhone 5 after 9 months of use (I have gently removed the Outfit Matrix about a dozen times during this period for cleanings), and there are now small nicks on the chamfered edges of the iPhone 5. Granted the iPhone 5 is sensitive to this kind of damage, but this issue could have been averted if elago used a material softer than the plastic on the insides of this case. Perhaps a microfiber lining would have prevented the nicks.
Because of these nicks I'm removing a single star from my review.

I've gone through 3 different iPhone 5 cases now:
1. Ringke Slim
2. elago S5 Outfit
And now the elago S5 Outfit Matrix in Dark Gray. I bought each of these cases because I felt like their minimalist designs compliment the sleek aesthetics of the iPhone 5. The Ringke Slim is a plain matte black plastic case that has a single tone on the back. It's unobtrusive but slightly bland. The big issue with that case is that if the phone is placed face down, the screen makes contact with the surface. The elago Outfit and Outfit Matrix have a 5mm lip above the screen so that it does not make contact with the surface when placed face down.
The regular elago Outfit case has a two-tone design on the rear with an aluminum plate in center. The texture is granular but fairly boring. The Matrix on the other hand has a brushed aluminum vertical texture that is absolutely beautiful. This is the main improvement over the Outfit.
The Outfit Matrix's two-tone style on the back is gorgeous and mimics the iPhone 5's graphite two-tone back. The rubber parts of the case are matte and should stand up well to minor abuse, whereas a gloss surface would show scratches easily and I'm trying to avoid this. This is what I wanted out of a case: Protection of the iPhone 5 from drops (albeit not too an intense of a drop), and a look that compliments the iPhone 5's design.
I'm surprised there aren't more reviews for such a fantastic product, and at $13.99 w/ Prime, this is a steal. The workmanship on the product is top-notch and you can feel that quality when you hold it. If you appreciate the aesthetic appeal of the iPhone 5 but want a decent amount of protection, this is the case for you.

This case does provide enough protection like any other slim shell case but this one is better. This one is well designed and has a brushed aluminum back to it. The aluminum is not fake/ painted on, it is real. I know this because it feels cold to the touch and when I scratch it, I can rub it off. The case also has a very small lip to it so you can lay it on a table screen down without the screen actually touching the table. The top and bottom are fully exposed except the corners. The case fits the 30-pin to lightning adapter and any sized headphone plug in piece. The camera cutout does not interfere with taking flash photos. The cutouts for the volume/ silent switch and the power button are very easy to access. The aluminum back on the case is light brown with a little gold looking when I look at it. The case works great with all screen protectors. This case is great and I will be using it a lot when I do not need a fully protected iPhone 5.
