Always go with Genuine HP Ink Cartridges!

I am speaking from experience from someone who has owned HP Printers for over 2 decades, and this also goes for all other printers too, you need to always go with the real deal genuine HP Ink. This listing is for a genuine one and it works great right away when you insert it into the printer. The difference between a genuine and off brand is that the real HP one will make the color that it is supposed to come out of the cartridge is the actual color that comes out. The off brand makes the color or black an off color or black, the black ends up being a dark gray and the color cartridges end up being very off when printing pictures or even charts and graphs. Plus you will always get more prints out of an HP cartridge like this one, a genuine one, then an off brand, so you really do not save any money. The first one I bought of the black, I ended up getting over 1,150 pages, and that is not even the XL, so I would recommend if you want to save a few bucks, it is well worth it to get this one compared to the 950XL.

Possibly defective?...but still working.

I purchased one ink cartridge back in November 2012 and placed it in my HP Officejet Pro 8600 about two days ago.

Once I inserted the cartridge the printer performed its standard preparation and it immediately showed that the black ink level was below 30%, not normal. I then printed a word document and an alert popped up on the computer screen as well as the screen on the printer. The alert stated that I had placed a non HP ink cartridge in my printer and it would void the warranty. I was obviously concerned because the package that the cartridge was in is a standard HP ink cartridge package (as displayed) and everything looks legit.

After I had printed that one word document the ink level showed at 0% but it is still printing clean black ink on my documents. I assume it is an error with the cartridge and everything will be fine but I don't understand how it would think it is not a genuine HP ink cartridge.
