4Great Money Saver Product
By HamsaYogi
I live in a dorm / hotel situation where the WIFI connection was 2 bars at the best. I quickly figured out that my room was within the range of the router so I bought the Netgar range extender. I was sceptical at first but once I put it up in my room it was like magic. 2 bars are now solid 5 bars and I conect at 144 KBPS vs the 24 - 36 KBPS before. Only down side is that it goes to sleep and after 3-4 hours of inactivity and you have to reboot it each morning to release and renew the IP. Other that that it has been a life saver as I work from home and my VPN connections are robust now.

5Great device!
By John D. Wickenhofer
Took it out of the box, plugged it in, it connected to my router automatically and was available as a wirless connection on my computer in just a few minutes. Spent about 5 minutes entering password info for my router and voila, connected with a 5 bar signal. I used to only get 2 bars on this computer with its distance from the router. Could not be simpler.

1Kept Disconnecting
By Pete
I bought this Wi-Fi extender so that I could use my iPad in the bedroom, which is on the opposite end of the house from the main computer and the Wi-Fi router. At first glance, the extender works as advertised, connecting fairly easily to my D-Link DIR-655 Extreme-N Gigabit Wireless Router. The iPad picked up the extender signal at full strength all over the house, much better than the strength of the actual router unless the iPad was in the same room as the router.

Note: To make this clear up front, the extender shows up as a separate Wi-Fi network from the parent network. By default, the name will be "[Your Network Name] - EXTENDER"

So to test out the signal, I used an internet speed test app on my iPhone (I completely understand that this method will also be limited by the ISP data rate). The download speeds on the iPhone using the router were in the 10MBs range while the download speeds using the extender were roughly between 1-2MBs. On the otherhand, the upload speeds from both the router and the extender were roughly the same, around 1-2MBs, which is nice considering the difference between the download rates.

Now for the bad part, this extender kept disconnecting from the network, causing any Wi-Fi device to not "see" the extender. The only way to fix this issue was to reset the extender. As this occurred almost on a daily basis, I decided to ship it back. It is entirely possible that the unit I received was bad, but rather than send out for another one, I am going to upgrade my Wi-Fi router that hopefully has a better range.
